I’m so glad you did this. I want to bind Coraline as a gift for my mother. She drove 4 hours so I could take her to see it. We both love the movie, and she has a good sized library in her den. I think this would be a great gift….now to find one for my Pops.
Your artwork is absolutely spectacular. Your Harry Potter books are my favorite for the attention to detail and plot points you include with the Cricuit cutouts 😍
Thankyou so much for this! If you dont already, you shoud sell your designs on etsy. They automatically send the file to the buyer so its easy to do and thr money builds up even if it's low amounts per sale!
I have some paperback books that my children destroyed the covers of when they were young. I hope to use your videos to help me learn how to recover them. Blessings and thank you!
Does anyone know about durability of the designs using this method? I know the original PCCs designs don't hold up well and I would love to do this if they have more longevity
I’m curious what thickness of book board you use. The link to Hollanders is just to their general website, and it seems they carry a range of thicknesses. Do you have a preference or recommendation?
This is fantastic! I would really love to start this myself, however I'm a little hesitant to buy the machine (sorry, I've forgotten what it's called) for £200 until I know it's going to be worthwhile for me. Do you have any other suggestions as to how you would make your own cover while keeping it looking professional? Thank you 😊
First off, check your local library. In the US and Canada I’ve had people tell me that some of theirs do have Cricuts (that’s the name of the machine) available for patrons to use! However I’m also going to make a budget rebind tutorial after I finish this main series that will cover a way to do your covers with much cheaper tool. It’s called a foil quill if you want to start looking into it, they run about $20-30 in the US.
It looks like all your books are still the same height, like the Penguin editions are. How do you accomplish that? Are you super picky on heights with which paperbacks you start with?
Hello! Thank you so much for such a wonderful tutorial! I was wondering how much book cloth you tend to use for an average sized paperback? Is it over a half yard?
Can you emboss and paint on clothbound? I saw it done on leather. Would it be possible to do the same on cloth? I'm not creative enough to experiment with this yet.
Anything .08 or bigger would work. I don’t think Hollanders carries the Davey board I’ve been using but they have .09 that would work and on Amazon they have .08 and .098 I think I have on my storefront any either of those would work. And if you are getting board from Michaels/cricut boards I would use their 2mm over their 1.5mm
Can someone please help me with the glue I read the label as pH neutral, but in the video, the words do not sound like pH neutral. Am I just hearing it wrong or am I missing a particular ingredient that is not on the label.
If you want to do the design with the outline box around the cover you need one of the full size cricuts, not the cricut joy. But you can do it with the cheapest larger cricut like the explore air 2
Yes you can normally. It depends on where you buy them from, if you are in the US Hollanders normally I think you can get two books worth per cloth size they sell, and Bookcraft supply co who I use mainly sells by the half yard and yard, and if I buy a yard I think I’m getting 9 or 10 books per yard?
Are you the original designer for penguin cloth bound? I watched a lovely video on penguin page and the designer talks about how she creates them i just wondered if that was you or if you just design and create the same covers
Goodness no, all credit for the beautiful penguin clothbound classic designs goes to the incredibly talented coralie bickford-smith! I am just in love with the style of them, own most of them, and since I know how to bind/rebind books decided it would be a fun project to give all other books in my library a makeover to sort of match my PCC collection. Basically I want my own beauty and the beast library, and this is how I’m going to try to achieve it 😊
Love the tutorials but i do wish you would have listed each item on the screen as you said it. I’m hard of hearing and sometimes you were very quiet when saying each item. Do you have a list of items?
They are all linked in my Amazon storefront. I’m sorry about that. It was my first time doing a video talking and I was nervous. I’m in the process of re-recording new tutorials in horizontal fashion and will make sure to list each item on the screen as well when I go over them 😊
There is just something special about someone willing to share their craft with the world and not wanting anything in return. Thank you so much.

I have this question too! Thank you so much for this video series, SO helpful and informative 😊
What thickness of davey board do you use? Can you talk about the differences?
This is my dream you’re such a queen👑

I was curious about the video for how to make your own book cloth and couldn’t find the video in your linktree. Can you post it here?
Thank you for this! 😊
I feel bad for the ripped covers, maybe reuse them as bookmarks for the same books
Hello! Thank you so much for such a wonderful tutorial! I was wondering how much book cloth you tend to use for an average sized paperback? Is it over a half yard?
May i know the size and thickness of the board you are using? Thank you.
Sell your cover designs
Yea exactly, sell them SVG files!
Yea please!

What thickness would you recommend for book boards?
What is the font used on the cover?

Yeah I’m fairly certain she says ph neutral
It is Ph neutral
Thank you for sharing ❤
I can’t find the excel sheet? Would it be possible to get the link? Thank you
What kind of paper do they use for those editions?
Does it need to be a specific model of Cricut?
If you want to do the design with the outline box around the cover you need one of the full size cricuts, not the cricut joy. But you can do it with the cheapest larger cricut like the explore air 2
Can I get more than one book out of a book cloth if I buy one of one color? Or is it only big enough for one book?
Yes you can normally. It depends on where you buy them from, if you are in the US Hollanders normally I think you can get two books worth per cloth size they sell, and Bookcraft supply co who I use mainly sells by the half yard and yard, and if I buy a yard I think I’m getting 9 or 10 books per yard?

so you have to have a machine to cut with the foil quill
also where do you buy your book headbands
