    I’m a week late to this demo but looks to me like another successful piece! Deep, dark and beautiful! I especially loved your thoughtful description (at the end), of where you wanted to go with this painting...the why and how you achieved it. Thanks again for your generous videos. Be well!

    Hi lisa! I have learned so much by watching your videos. Thank you! I remember you recommend a top notch gesso for prep of the boards, but for the life of me I can't find where I wrote that down. ha. Can ya help me out? blessings

      Lisa, so glad you are learning form my videos! Makes me happy! The best gesso I have found is the Professional Utrecht Gesso! Very thick and you only needs one coat!! Hope that helps! xo

    Lisa, you always have so much paint on your palette... what do you do with all of it when you are done with a piece? Thank you.

    • @LisaBBoardwine
      @LisaBBoardwine  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Connie, I use it the next day -and the next! You can scrape the unused paint off one dirty palette and then add it to a fresh new palette too! I never waste paint! It is too expensive!😁And if you cover your palette at night it will remain good for a few days! Thanks!

    Lisa - I’m working on an ocw with gold leaf. In another of your videos you mentioned spraying the gold leaf when painting is completely dry with Golden archival varnish. So I bought some but am nervous about using it because the word acrylic appears on the can. Help! Thanks. Still in love with ocw!

    • @LisaBBoardwine
      @LisaBBoardwine  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Darryl, when I spray it -I cover the painting surface surrounding the gold leafing. Just lay some paper over the painting area but exposing the gold leaf area. Hold the spray can several inches away from the painting and just try a misting. So glad you are still enjoying the oil and cold wax!

      @@LisaBBoardwine thanks for the reassurance. I got the matte spray and am concerned it might dull the gold leaf. I do like some glitz, so will experiment. Your input is invaluable! Hope you and yours are all safe in these strange times. Comeback to Kilmarnock!

    What a deeply rich piece! Can I ask what the burgundy is that you were using? Thanks, Lisa!

    • @LisaBBoardwine
      @LisaBBoardwine  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Micki! It is kind of a blended mix of transparent red iron oxide and caput Mortum. Maybe a bit of asphaltum bleeding in too! 😁Colors listed at end of video. Thanks for tuning in!
