As someone who plays a lot of Ra, I feel I can give some insights into at least some of the many weaknesses this particular build has: Especially for greeks you can just out eco him by getting that second town center, while he stays on one and still have enough army out to contest the second gold mine. In order to counter this build it is important to realise the natural chokepoint this build and Ra in general has , which is around 10 mins when Ra has to go for his second gold mine. If you fight Ra you want to be ready earlier then that, ideally you prevent him from getting that migdol up on the goldmine, which is a common strategy. Egyptians are insanely gold hungry, even more so if you want to go for camels like your opponent did in this game, so if you can manage to keep him off this second gold mine it is seriously gonna hurt him. What Ra likes to do is drop that migdol on that second gold mine to defend it, but if you have a large classical age army there he wont be able to get it up. He will be forced to build it in his base, which for all intends and purposes is gonna put him further in the hole, since you will simply never attack his base until you have an overwhelming advantage. Unlike other gods Ra doesn't get anything from aging up quickly other than access to the migdol with the units he wants to build. Every military unit in age of mythology costs gold, except certain myth units which Ra doesnt even get access to and require monuments that still require more gold(scarabs are a siege unit and laser crocks cost you guessed it gold). So every military unit you force Ra to make speeds up the depletion of his initial gold mine , the more you can force him to attack into you before his late composition becomes online the better for you. Once he is out of gold he may be able to stay in it through trading at a market for a little longer, but it is only a matter of time before you win. Even more so if Ra goes Mythic, requiring another 1000 gold of his 6000 gold goldmine before he is out not to mention the time it takes. So migdol (which you army ensures isnt placed anywhere useful) and mythic are already 1400 gold just to age up. More importantly you do not need to actually fight into ra unless you want to, until he gets a certain size of cammels he doesnt have any fast responding units, which means you get to dictate almost any engagemetn allowing you to focus on the singular thing that matters preventing him from mining that gold. There is no point raiding his farms Ra gets absurd ammount of food anyway, there is no point in raiding his wood because he barely needs it, but prevent him from getting that gold and you ensure it really hurts. You can also use this knowledge for army composition, mainly myth units, ideally fast ones and in the case of norse raiding cav. Force him to build priests to counter your myth units, ifhe pulls the pharoh even better and keep killing the priests with whatever counter unit your god has. You keep doing that and you ensure he never gets out the number of camels he realistically needs to fight you.
That strat gets countered by a second tc, since he will run out fo steam after the initial push. If your eco is not in a single place you can survive it and push back. Just don't loose your army on his first push.
Pro tip for the frost power, don’t freeze the whole army, just freeze half of it. Take a good fight against the first half and then take a good fight against the second half
Hi Viper, I have big issues figuring out what to do after Poseidon quick UP & 2nd TC - what are top 3 prios for the next 5 minute? Or maybe sb in the comment section can help? Thanks!
does viper still have wrist issues? is it carpal tunnel? how is he still allowed to use mouse this much? does he use vertical mouse or something fancy like that?
