Well said jake!!! And thanks for the shoutout. ❤ Although I will say using it in real world scenarios I never had any overheating. Out of all the other cameras I still grab the hero 11 when I go out to film action shots !
Jake unfiltered! While this was a tough watch, we are here to learn and grow from our customer feedback, so thank you for sharing your honest opinions! We hope GoPro cameras continue to be a part of your creator journey! Good thing we’re built rugged to endure the elements and the shade 😎
Please consider about making a new Hero Session (the small cube), one that would have replaceable battery. I think it was by far your best product because of the ergonomics. I was so happy to see the Mini coming out, but so dissapointed you can't replace the battery. I'll wait more I guess. I don't want the DJI because in my opinion lacks the details for snow activities
From my hero4 and 10. They both have the same problem. Heats up very easily, always lags and hang. So I decided to switch to dji osmo 3, and have never been happy with my purchase.
I still feel Gopro has a great future, we are just about to start our own TH-cam Channel and for the time being Gopro will be a big part of it @mr.blashkov
The editing skills and the creator behind the camera I think are more important than the camera. You are a perfect example. No matter what camera you use, your content is golden! Cheers ✌️
Exactly I was a GoPro hero 7 user and I did not upgrade because of all the issues that other users were facing. Now recently my GoPro had died, so no I am thinking about DJI action 3 or action 4.
As someone who loves to travel, I always keep my action 3 in a backpack (together with my wallet and my keys haha) and it never fails to record perfect videos!
I don't know what else an action camra needs, something that's not been invented yet? One thing that really sets the DJI Osmo Action 3 apart for me was how well the voice control features work. It's so convenient and I use it all the time.
Absolutely agree with what you're saying here, Jake. I'm new to the action cameras and I did my research before buying. I've been using the dji osmo action 3 for underwater photography for a while now and it's been fantastic. The color correction is spot-on and it's waterproof, that's basically all I need for now
You got me with mounting a smartphone to a snowboard lol. As someone who uses DJI Osmo Action 3 for snowboarding and skiing, I can say that the image quality and stabilization are top-notch. RockSteady makes the footage sooooo smooth and even when I'm moving at high speeds. It's also great for low-light situations, which is a common issue when filming in snowy conditions.
It makes sense when you mention you'd rather upgrade your smartphone, but for me the key here is stabilization. I actually tried recording road biking with a phone, obviously the footage came out horrible, then I borrowed my friend's Osmo Action 3 and I have to say image-stabilization technology is amazing. Then I've used it while mountain biking and the footage comes out incredibly smooth, thinking to get one now before getting a new phone!
If I may... you haven't mentioned the mount system. I feel like Osmo Action 3 has a much better mount system compared to GoPro. It's magnetic and is just more convenient, faster, and easier to use. That is a game-changer for anyone who uses their action camera frequently.
The fact that the Osmo action 3 is waterproof up to 16m was was what won me over. This level of waterproofing is much better than most of the models on the market. It's perfect for diving, snorkeling, or even surfing.
Hi Jake, you forgot to mention Gopros are virtually indestructible. I've got the Gopro 2, 3, 6, 7 and 11. I've used them for dirt biking, snowboarding, jetskiing, underwater diving, hiking, 4wdriving and they still all work. I've crashed lots of times snowboarding and dirt biking and never even scratched a lens. I love my Gopro 11, never had any issues, the video colour is great and the new extended battery lasted half day whilst snowboarding. As an amateur video maker who is rough on cameras, I'm still a Gopro fan.
I completely agree that most of us want quality for less, and I personally use my gears until it serves the purpose. That's why I chose the DJI Osmo Action 3 over the GoPro. I just purchased the Action 3 myself and I'm already very happy with my decision.
The best offer always wins is so true... The DJI bundle offer was a great deal for me when I was looking to buy an action camera. Not only did I get the Action 3, but also a bunch of accessories like three !!! batteries, and a charging case, and a quick release mount and what not haha... I think this makes it an excellent value for money.
You make an interesting point, Jake! Been seeing lots of those GoPro overheating videos as well, and gotta say one of the best features of my DJI Osmo Action3 is that it doesn't overheat at all. This is especially important when filming in hot weather or using the camera for extended periods of time.
I think GoPro is still my go to for travel because of the versatility. My BIGGEST issue with it is the battery. I had to take 4 batteries with me because of the drain. If they fixed that. Id be golden.
Latest firmware and enduro batteries seems to be working well with my 11. My biggest issue is the constant crashes. I've lost all faith in my GoPro at this point, they cash so consistently, so relying on helmet mounts etc for action things is just a liability.
@@iamsampeters Try using a Samsung micro SD card. I have 5 GoPros and I had crashes often with their supplied SanDisk cards but when I switched cards to Samsung the problem never resurfaced.
@@thomza Thanks for sharing Tom, that's interesting - I don't actually use the SanDisk card provided, but I did buy a 256gb SanDisk just because they came so heavily recommended. I'll check that out man, thank you!
Agree 100%. Love using my gopro 8, 9, and 10 most. But just bought an insta360 X3 and released a VR 360 degree video. Gopro needs to catch up as their 360 max isn't up to insta360 quality. 😢
I love how GoPro looks, i support the brand. And its not just the money for me. Hope they add full censor in GoPro 12. Love everything about it. The name, the looks, the marketing and the fact that they were the first.
Innovation pushes everything forward. I think DJI came up with the front-facing screen first? I just loved that back in 2019. And I do have FOMO - using DJI Osmo Action 3 now for vlogging or taking selfies, but always on the lookout if a new model comes up
I recently switched from GoPro to DJI Action 3 and I'm blown away by the image quality. The colors are more vivid and the contrast is much better, good to have more option on the market!
Still rocking 2 7’s, but when I need to replace will look at DJI. I haven’t upgraded above the 7 due to all of the reported issues with over heating, batteries, etc. Plus, don’t want to start over with the different batteries and cases. Have shifted most of my non-action video shots to my Canon R6.
The things that keep GoPro in the game for me are the insane video stability and the insane frame rates you have available. Also it's waterproof so can be used when it's too wet for a smartphone or full frame camera. But yeah, I have a Hero 10 and it has everything i need. There is no need to upgrade, and if I did, I would probably go with the DJI Osmo 3.
The gopro quik app is great for backing up photos, but nothing else. Has potential but the editing section of the app is slow and glitchy! The app also uses too much memory.
Battery drain is always a concern for me when it comes to action cameras, took me a while to test out different models and then I went for Osmo Action 3. Luckily enough, it has an impressively long-lasting battery (and charges fast too). So I'm able to shoot for longer periods of time without having to worry about running out of juice. Would I upgrade if there's a new action cam next year? We will have to see.
Insta360, apparently the mayor competitor, just has a better affiliate program, so TH-camrs and influencers keep pushing it to earn money. Meanwhile it's hard to be accepted for the GoPro Affiliate program. In my opinion GoPro is the best, best support and products. I owned an Insta360 X2 and had the worst support experience for a return. DJI products aren't good too, I own a Mini 3 Pro and the camera lens suffer from fogging (yes, in a 1000$ drone).
GoPro kind of lost me w/ the 8. Think back…..DJI had the osmo action with the front facing screen. So GoPro response was the new “mods”. Problem was, they released the camera when none of the mods were available. Supply chain issues, poor timing? I don’t know. But the fact was that they released a camera then couldn’t produce its full capability. So I purchase the camera, and by the time the mods were readily available, it was on to the 9. I know I’m unrealistic for sure, i just felt like I was deceived and wasted my dough on this camera that never really made it to its full potential of what was promised.
Personally I think you need a smart phone, action camera, and a drone in that order. Having said that I find that my GoPro is with me all the time and is my most used camera when I’m actually going out on an adventure or trip. But for day to day stuff the smart phone will be used the majority of the time. I didn’t think the GoPro 11 was going to be that much of an upgrade, but WOW some of the features like being able to change the lens from Superview to linear after you have taken the shot, having 10 bit colour, and the new time lapse features make the upgrade worthwhile for me.
I think one of the best things about GoPro, and personally, a reason why I keep choosing the brand over others, is the community. All of the challenges and awards are very attractive for the average user because it makes you feel capable of achieving incredible content (and even getting paid) without being a super athlete.
I currently have a Hero 7 Black and the only reason I would upgrade is to go to a front facing LCD like the Hero 9. Other than that the Hero 7 works for me
Where did they go wrong? Releasing an expensive camera that wasn’t even functional. It would get so hot after a few minutes I couldn’t touch it add it would switch itself off due to the heat. On top of this issue, GoPro seemed to deny the severity of the problem.
I always buy the go pro used, great pricing. Would never get it new. Works for me as the size is great when traveling. I'd like to have a small camera in my pocket and flip random clips as I walk around. Water proof is a huge factor as well. I do own the DJI pocket 2 but I can't take it into water unless use the housing, which adds another thing to carry around. Also, it has a gimbal which I have to be careful with. Go Pro can take a little more beating.
I've been carrying a GoPro in my pocket since 2012. Upgraded each year. Right now I have the Hero11 Black+Mini, and backup H10/9 and MAX. Also have the Insta360 X3 and had X2 beforehand, and tried the DJI Action2 briefly. For me, 360 format is the future. I went on a trip to Mexico, and used the Insta X3 primarily, with the Mini as POV (with Max Lens) and H11Black for diving. The X3 yields good enough footage. I saw some videos from the Action 3 and they looked much worse than what the H11 can output. I record in 4K30/60 always and that's good enough for me. Wish we could get a dual 4K sensor MAX replacement soon. Also, Insta cameras are not what they seem to be, the X2 and X3 have the same processor, albeit different CMOS sensors. Minimal upgrades for Insta as well.
GoPro has relied on their past success and have just been cruising for the past few years. I remember when they were top of the game, they had created that epic little drone with a detatchable gimbal (which looked like a game changer). At the time it was the smallest camera drone on the market, unfortunately like a week later DJI announced the Mavic Pro drone and it was far more sucessful and killed GoPros entry into the drone market. I can't see myself buying a GoPro again unless there was some real innovation and offered me something unique. Like you mentioned, phones have everything I need and are far more convenient because it's always there. It will be interesting to see how the space evolves and continues to change of the next 5 years.
My gopro10 started playing up this winter turning off with full battery after a few seconds of recording. I spoke to the tech help and they couldn't give me an answer but told me they could replace it for £100 but couldn't say what the issue is 🤷♂️ or if it would happen again poor advice as I bought a new enduro battery and so far so good very disappointed with their advice. Definitely considering a drone or a new compact camera. I really think DJI will leave them behind in the next few years.
I recently switched over to a Sony 6600. Great point on the price point, for almost 2x the price of a top model GoPro. It isn’t full frame, but the versatility to use longer lenses and freelance capacity makes it a great choice. The only category I see GoPro winning in still is rugged water use for situations like surfing. But like you said the competition is catching up and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a takeover in that slot. Great video!
As a dad that just shoots his kids and some family adventures the gopro has been perfect. Never afraid of my children using it or dropping it and having to worry about the lense is juat ideal. I own the gopro10 and its perfect for an every day to day. I feel like not everyone is a content creator and if you are i understand your point but us consumers not prosumers are happy with Gopro👌🏼
I find Go Pro with the wind slayer the perfect camera for the windy conditions I almost always shoot in! I also had a problem with my 9 and Go Pro sent me a new one quickly. Customer service was great. i will definitely buy another. And do it soon!!
This is hilarious! I've been watching your videos for the past few days. I just ordered my first gopro and your videos have been getting me excited to get started. Then I stumble on this😂 Dammit.
I understand every topic that you said, but GoPro is a really important part of my content creation, and I would put it right next to my phone and my drone, the 3 complete each other and if I stopped buying one of those 1/3 of my content would be missing. That makes sense in some way?
I am getting my first GoPro as soon as the Hero 11 Mini is back in stock on Amazon. I wouldn't mind less frequent, more significant upgrades because I dont see myself buying a new camera for atleast a few years.
I have a GoPro 9 and 10. I have never had a problem with either. I had a Insta 360 X2 and damaged the lens the 2nd time I used it. I recently bought the X3 but I get nervous every time I take the protective lens cover off. The X3 is a cool camera but it is not a GoPro replacement. The DJI Osmo Action 3 does not have as good of image quality as the GoPro 11. I don’t use a action camera very often but the GoPro suits my needs when I do.
I just bought gopro11 and I own insta360 go 1, before I had Cannon m50, I have to say even now days gopro is still a very solid sports camera. It's made for rough sports and you can trust it. insta360 is a toy that can play with, I hardly used insta360 go 1 and have been really careful, it still make scratches on the lense, I don't even know how...
I started shooting real estate believe it or not with a GoPro Hero 5! I worked my way up to save enough for a 1DX MKII Canon but I still use a Hero 7 for Convenience and the hypersmooth 1.0
I've always used go pro for filming all aspects of my travel including surfing, B roll and vlogging. Now i've acquired a drone and use my Iphone 13 for all day to day B roll and vlogging as its more convenient and footage looks great. I only use go pro now for POV surfing which unless its pumping and barrelling doesn't happen too often.
I’ve had both Insta360 and GoPro. I’ve only found overheating with insta. I’ve bought a few of them in the past but only love using GoPro now as they don’t overheat.
Interesting points. Defense every piece of equipment is different for different circumstances. I got gopro to shoot dive & action vids simply because iphone is not that good in those circumstances (even with additional tools) and I don’t want to waste it. Gopro is an addition to the phone. So as full frame camera, drone or whatever. Anything that suits your personal needs & creativity. Thank you for the video!
Well said. Now that there is more competition they need to innovate to compete. For the reasons you listed that’s why I opted for a DJI action 3 over GoPro.
I have a GoPro Hero 9 and I also don't see a big advantage in buying a later version. When I look at some GoPro Shots they are very often done by drone. So I wonder if the GoPro is mounted on the drone?!? I never got an information on that. I also have a dji drone and if it is possible to combine a dji action cam with their drones I would buy a dji action cam
Our recording studio depends entirely on action cameras. When we decided to replace our nine cameras, I tested the GoPro 11 with a media mode. And, as you might have guessed, we are still utilising the GoPro 8 with media modes to this day. Unfortunately, the "11" failed to improve the quality and caused significant disruptions in our production workflow. Upgrading is definitely not an option for us.
Well said Jake. Always loved GoPro but with all the innovation happening right now they really need to do something extra special in future models to regain their original reputation. 👍🏻
I bought a Hero9 when Hero10 released and love the compact and pocketable form factor and use it for shooting small clips during vacations. During vacation I like to travel light and GoPro is fantastic for that. GoPro sold as partly gray in my country, so cloud, warranty etc pretty much useless..sure the country importer claims to be an authorised one but considering zero repair centres in India and support for it makes the cloud and subscription useless. Regarding heating etc, have faced a few times when out in heat but nothing that causes shutdown or freezing. Love the fact that there are tons of Gorpro and 3rd party accessories available! Also love the current form factor and compatibility amongst the 9,10,11 and hopefully future ones too…
Gopro is still very good for what you want from an action camera. But DJI seems to have caught up. For the most casual audiance the Gopro got everything you want. I got the 7 black and for what I´ve used it for its been great. 4-5 years later though I see DJI been doing great lately. Maybe I get a DJI next time I upgrade
Just got my DJI action 3 and going to sell my GoPro 9 &10 Main reasons are 11 is too expensive and I still need an adapter for external mic! I got two media mods, the mic quality is worse than the build in one and it’s so buggy, like draining the camera battery even when it’s off and it’s a nightmare to replace the battery or pull out the battery to reset when it’s in the mod. If I want to use external mic I’ll need a mic adapter, which I have one and it just make the setup cumbersome, so I am done with GoPro.
Quik app, honestly don’t use it much…most just export out the files and dump it into an iPad for further editing…editing on the iPad is another whole new challenge by itself.
My question is, are full frame camera water proof submergible to any feet. How about the seize of the camera . I don't use my phone because if I use my phone I need an external battery for it. But I do not feel that the age of GoPro will still going on. It is nice to have a rugged camera that is small enough but tuff enough. Also I wish GoPro hand some more lenses. I do agree with you on the price and bundles would be great only if Gopro does not come out with a bundle that is outrageous $ but make it more enticing to buy the Bundle. Nice vid to make you think.
Hi jake! Loveee the vid! This was an important topic to bring up! I run a youtube channel using a gopro and an iphone! And ive been in that situation a ton of times, where i leave the gopro behind, cause my phone can do 90% of the what it does (other than mounting it on a skateboard / surfboard) that being said, the gopro is still pretty great for what it does!
I tried the Insta x3 and the Hero 11, I decided to buy GoPro because I can edit your videos with videos recorded with my Sony A7Siii and when combining them in post everything looks natural in the edition; with the fisheye deformation that the Insta 360 generates it could not, you would see the bent vertical lines and an exaggerated depth of angle, except for very specific shots or for informal recordings I do not see the need to have a 360 camera. The only negative point of the Hero 11 is the battery life when recording at the highest bit rate, then it is versatile for professional filming work, where you can't put a 3500 dollar camera, the quality of the video (extracted from the microsd) is insane, better than many of DJI's second generation drones.
DJI Action 4 is good competition to the line GoPro's. GoPro will either step up to the plate, or DJI will absorb the market. DJI gives you so much more for the same money. Overheating is a big concern with GoPro's - at least for us, who live in warm climates. Simply unusable. Camera keeps shutting down every few minutes. Battery life on GoPro's is absolutely horrible.
This whole smartphone vs GoPro comparison is so old. iPhone is not an ACTION camera. I use both when traveling. I use GoPro when kayaking, snorkeling…anything in the water. Action. Smartphones are not going to be the death of GoPro. Neither are the Chinese knock-offs flooding the market. GoPro set the standard. Next!!
I oncee had a NO ERROR GoPro and I would swear by them and always use that camera....until they force pushed an update on my camera and it actually broke the rear screen display. Every GoPro since then has had an issue where if I leave a battery in the camera, the camera will have this weird glitch that turns the camera back on randomly at a random time (yes even with wifi turned off) and just stay on until the battery drained out. Now I reach for my Insta360 X3 and Go2 instead, and the GoPro always sits in a drawer unless I specifically need it with the media mod and a mic attached.
I must admit, ive been a gopro fan boy for years until i got the Insta360 x3 which is much easier to use, not overheating or freezing issues. If gopro 12 doesnt improve or fix those issues I’ll not be wasting my hard earn cash. I’d also like a mic connection or wireless mic. At the very least a media with its own finger mount things so the camera can be removed easily for battery change.
I bought a GoPro at the start of last year and I’ve taken a few videos with it of the sunset and me riding my bike but I live in a desert type town and I’m stuck, I don’t know what else to film. I would love some tips for being creative in an a desert town.
I love my three Go Pros. I've never had a problem which I couldn't trace back to something that I did wrong. So count me into the 70% that will continue with Go Pro. That said, Thanks for a well presented and informative video.
I have been a big fan of GoPro. Unfortunately, I have switched to Insta360 X3 and I feel like I am not going back unless GoPro has something new to offer or maybe GoPro max 2? Btw, nice video:)
Some of your criticisms are fair - GoPro has squandered its lead in 360 - but one huge edge is that its customer service and durability are far and away better than competitors
Version 11 of a product with its well document quirks or only version 3 of a product and its well documented quirk. With one you get the camera and a few bits, with the other you get dual touch screens, a better user interface, 'bundled' accessories, longer battery life in hot or cold, faster mounting system and lower price without a subscription model.... One has an (exceptionally high quality) trick, the other attracts the 'everyday' user with its other 'tricks'... Maybe one day I'll save up for a drone, wireless microphone too, all with the same user interface. Mmmmm.... I wonder which one you would buy today.
I have no idea what ur other video contents are but i have 3 critiques about how i feel for this video. 1. You dont look or sounds like thrustworthy about what you telling. Be direct and to the point about what u wanna tell. Dont go all around. 2. You are comparing an apple against an orange (u got what im sayin) Yes there are many issues about Gopro but it is what it is. Everything has its own place to be use. 3. Your editing is so quick that i cannot catch up the things. Everything flows in miliseconds and so many pop up stuff all around.
GoPro cameras are light weight, easy to carry and can be used in multiple environments such as land and underwater. It's a good camera for people who want to capture a nice shot without worrying about the rain.
Please guide me. I purchased RODE wireless go 11 to enhance audio for my GoPro Black 10. How do I connect the receiver with the camera. Do I need to buy media mod for the connecting rode mic and GoPro Thanks in advance
GoPro definatly has issues, i'm not going to ignore that but i have had 2 GoPros, the first being a HERO7 White and second being a HERO10. I have a unsplash profile that i have been uploading to for a year now, using mostly my GoPro, and in that time, i have never had a battery, freezing or overheating issue. I have done lots of reserch and testing, and have narrowed down the 2 main resons that GoPros overheat of freeze. 9 out of 10 times the reason that gopros freeze is because of the wrong class micro sd card. I have personally tested this on my HERO10. I run a sandisk max endurance sd card in my HERO10, and have only ever had it freeze 4 times in the one year and a few months i have had it. 3 of those were in playback mode, which was fixed in a software update, and the 4th was while in the waterproof case in warm water. When I used the wrong class sd card, it almost immeadetly began bugging up and locking up on me. The camera even warned me that the micro sd card wasn't capable of being able to function correctly. Now, onto overheating. I have watched countless GoPro overheating videos on the platform, and the testing is unfair. Have you ever stopped and considered the enviroment that the tests are being done in?? It's always in a room, and I assume its at room temp, with little to no airflow, and max resolution and frame rate options on. What camera on this planet isn't going to overheat under those conditions?? The small form factor of these cameras and the fact that most of it is battery dosen't leave much room for effective cooling. For example, look at larger full frame cameras. These are often massive, with a really small battery. because of this, they are able to pack more effective cooling solutions into the camera. Also another thing to consider is GoPros arn't built to sit for hours and record. If we're being honest with ourselves, they are made to record a short clip at high resolutions and frame rates, not for extended periods of time. Batteries produce heat when used intensely, like with max resolution and frame rates and this is always the hottest part of my GoPro. To back this up, i have used my gopro for 3 hours as a webcam without a battery inserted, just running of the usbc port on my computer for my online school zoom lessons, and it didnt overheat or shut down once. I did the same with a battery in and it lasted 40 minutes. GoPros are meant to be used for short periods of time, and GoPro isn't suddeny going to bend over backwards and steer off the path they have made for themselves to make a tiny, high resolution camera extremely cheap that can record forever. You get what you pay for, and when we look at other action camera brands, we see that the specs are often lower, but we get longer battery life and little overheating and freezeing issues. What other camera can you name that weights under 200g, can record 5.3k video and 60fps with 360 horizon lock? Yeah, you can't because there isn't one. Gopro is the only one. Basically my point is, if you are buying a gopro to film for long periods of time, in a area with no airflow, save your money and get a entry level mirrorless or dslr camera. These are built for recording in studio environments for long periods of time. here is the unsplash profile link→unsplash.com/@unsealmyname
I don't own a gopro but I love the quality video it produces. I got into 360 cameras a few years ago, and now it's hard for me to do traditional filming. I also find it hard to justify buying a traditional action camera when I have a phone with a high quality camera. I'm becoming more involved with editing video to make them the best quality possible. I'm struggling with the low quality of inata360 video, but I still think the creativity and ability to "set it and forget it" out weighs the better quality of the gopro. I think that either gopro or insta360 are on the verge of making a 360 camera with better quality, and that will be the one that takes off. If you can get the quality resolution and colors of the gopro 11 into a reframed 360 video, why would you buy anything else?
Great video. I have been a GoPro diehard since the hero 3. I love my GoPro and use them a lot. I currently still use a Session a 9 and 10. Still love them as an action cam because of their durability. Even with their short comings I still think they are a good camera. I have ventured out and purchased a Insta 360 X3 which I really enjoy but it is not as tough as the GoPro. I see a lot of users with damaged or scratched lenses just from a short fall and it cost a little over $100 to have the lens replaced and shipped back to Insta360. I will continue to use my GoPro’s that I have now but probably not going to upgrade to the 11 and will wait to see if they make some major improvements for their next version of their action camera.
I prefer not to use phones for videos and photos during vacations! Battery life gets impacted and I personally prefer to keep the communication tool separate…dropping it and breaking or losing it would be bad. Phones are not a substitute for cameras.
You will spot a few GoPro problems while I was recording. I had the same problems so many times when the weather was at around 40ºF - then windchill factor brings the temps below that and this is when the cameras act up and shut down, always at the wrong time of course! th-cam.com/video/fdxzCaoye2U/w-d-xo.html
my Gopro 9 stop working and I used it not that much and they cannot fix it and offered me rebate for a new one. It's an expensive lost. really disappointing. :-(
I personally prefer the DJI Osmo Action 3 and DJI Mimo over GoPro's interface and app. The OA3 has a more user-friendly and intuitive interface, and the DJI Mimo app offers more features and customization options.
@@JakeRichandAnnaChah It's limited to being sorted by Date recorded or date uploaded pretty much but the big way it stacks up, it's $50/year and UNLIMITED. I keep waiting for them to cancel mine but no issues. I uploaded a 10 bit HVEC file that was 250GB a few weeks for the Song Kran holiday here, it worked. This is your next video man. :)
Everyone talks about their technical issues they face with Gopros but I've shot with many models for many years and never have any problems with glitches or over heating. The only problems I've had was broken screens or lenses but that was my fault. Im currently using the 10 and it works great!! What annoys me most is people crying about a mic and other vlogging features when its not a vlogging camera its a action camera. What would be cool to see from Gopro is a more pro model, almost like a mirrorless camera specs but waterproof. fixed lens length like a normal gopro obviously, And wouldn't mind if it was bigger for that model.
I was planning to buy Go Pro 11 for making Vlog Videos next month. Is it worth it ? Or should I buy something else ? Can you guys give me alternative options.
Love my hero 9 and the quick app. They do need to add the option to add music throughout the edit. At this time you can only select music that plays for the first 2-3 min so if your clip is longer there’s no music finishing out!!
I want to buy the GoPro Hero 11 Black, but I'm afraid now that I get it, and it will shit down very quickly, or pick up too much background noises and things like that, if that happens, is there anything that I can do? Because I had to because I had to save money for a long time to buy it so I will be very sad if something like that is wrong with the camera. (I'm just a boy)
I am fed up with my go pro 10 with hang and heatup issue
Please consider about making a new Hero Session (the small cube), one that would have replaceable battery. I think it was by far your best product because of the ergonomics. I was so happy to see the Mini coming out, but so dissapointed you can't replace the battery. I'll wait more I guess. I don't want the DJI because in my opinion lacks the details for snow activities
From my hero4 and 10. They both have the same problem. Heats up very easily, always lags and hang.
So I decided to switch to dji osmo 3, and have never been happy with my purchase.
"learn and grow from our customer feedback" 🤔
perhaps start with a product recall?
I still feel Gopro has a great future, we are just about to start our own TH-cam Channel and for the time being Gopro will be a big part of it @mr.blashkov
The editing skills and the creator behind the camera I think are more important than the camera. You are a perfect example. No matter what camera you use, your content is golden! Cheers ✌️
It is until the camera overheats or the footage glitches. I've had both happen recently with my Gopro 8 and 9.
Indestructible. I am not taking a $1k phone into the places I would take a GoPro.
Waterproof action cams are still for me a must. GoPro 11 has given me the best IQ so far vs action 2 etc.
I had the same problem with a 9 switched to a Samsung card haven’t had any dramas since
Your smartphone argument is not an argument against GoPro, rather against all action cameras.
Im looking for a small vlog camera but the issue with the Action 3 is that you can't use ND filters without gimbal :(
Still rocking 2 7’s, but when I need to replace will look at DJI.
Not only that. The most important thing: Gopro has the best image quality without a doubt. And for those who film under water there's nothing close.
You have taught me so much about using a gopro. I film everything on it. Thank you Jake
That’s exactly our gear for travel, a phone, a drone and a GoPro, and that’s all we need.
Thanks for this open sharing, Jake! I always love your authentic sharing!
well said! always excited to see and hear about the reviews! my hero 11 is great but i definitely have been using other cameras.
Great video, it’s almost like you are in my head. Thx for posting, much appreciated
do you like youtube audio setting in this video?
not sure what you mean?
Cool Video! I am about to post a video about this to!!
Gopro need to fix software, so many bugs brr, DJI3 no problems ❤
I am getting my first GoPro as soon as the Hero 11 Mini is back in stock on Amazon. I wouldn't mind less frequent, more significant upgrades because I dont see myself buying a new camera for atleast a few years.
Great vid! I’m new to GoPro so it all seems new and shiny to me though! Any more travel vids lined up Jake?
Oh my gosh this battery drain is happening with my GoPro as well. It’s so annoying!!
I think the GoPro really can not be beat when it comes to the Livestreaming option which at this point is rarely addressed.
when it comes to live-streaming, a smartphone does a pretty good job of handling that...
It's made for rough sports and you can trust it. insta360 is a toy that can play with, I hardly used insta360 go 1 and have been really careful, it still make scratches on the lense, I don't even know how...
and not mentioned that insta360 go HD looks like 480p and the new go3 has 2.7k but I figured it would just look like HD but larger files LOL
Just got my DJI action 3 and going to sell my GoPro 9 &10
Main reasons are 11 is too expensive and I still need an adapter for external mic!
GoPro hero 11 and DJI action 3 and Insta 360 X3 which is best camera please reply
Comes down to your needs and use cases :)
Quik app, honestly don’t use it much…most just export out the files and dump it into an iPad for further editing…editing on the iPad is another whole new challenge by itself.
I'm not having one of those, but I'm still watching it. Maybe someday I will be getting one. I wish.
I still have my Gopro hero 10 and I made sure the new firmware 1.50 was updated
Mmmmm.... I wonder which one you would buy today.
the difference in sensor size from GP10 to GP11 in actually quite huge . All I hope is that they will bump up the sensor size to 1 inch
QUIK is disappointing. 😢
No matter wha5 settings I use, or which editor I use, I never get my footage (any footage) to have that kind of definition yours has.
Please guide me.
I purchased RODE wireless go 11 to enhance audio for my GoPro Black 10.
How do I connect the receiver with the camera. Do I need to buy media mod for the connecting rode mic and GoPro
Thanks in advance

I stopped at GoPro Hero 9 Black.
The SoC is lagging behind and the fact there's no UVC mode. I rather use hdmi to usb capture.
GoPro has fallen behind BUT their $50/year unlimited cloud storage is their best and least promoted product. I prob have 10 TB on there.
interesting, wonder though how it stacks up against google drive or dropbox?
@@JakeRichandAnnaChah It's limited to being sorted by Date recorded or date uploaded pretty much but the big way it stacks up, it's $50/year and UNLIMITED. I keep waiting for them to cancel mine but no issues. I uploaded a 10 bit HVEC file that was 250GB a few weeks for the Song Kran holiday here, it worked. This is your next video man. :)
I only use the Quik app as a remote/ viewfinder and to download my photos/ videos. Never really for editing
It's still worth it! Go for it, plus plenty of helpful tutorials on this channel for you also to check out ;)
Love my hero 9 and the quick app.
It’s a great camera 🤌🏽⚡️
@@JakeRichandAnnaChah Good, but I think I'm going to wait for the Hero 12
