The thinning hair on top, seems less thin, again he is still baling but he saved some top hair and it all thickend enough for the thinning to stop :)
      His cousin also takes it, and she also says her nails are thicker, less prone to chipping and breaking, and her hair is thicker and sheds less.
      I tried it, i saw no improvement in anything but im not sure why. My hair is very thin and silky smooth, but i had hoped it would get a little thicker or i would stop shedding, my nails did improve somewhat! But it comes and goes in periods too.

    In Dec. 2023 I began talking hydrolyzed collagen and did so every day with coffee and sort of forgot about what it could do for me. Once in awhile I would look closely at my skin and noticed nothing better. Nails were terrible as usual. I was using topical Minoxidil for hair loss which was working great, so it is hard to tell about my hair, other than my hair loss was no more or less. So I figured it was going to be a big let down. I continued to take it and suddenly by about the 5th month I wondered what was different with my body. Then I realized movements that made joints hurt not longer did. The aches and pains of old age were 90% gone. So that is worth to me more than any cosmetic effects. Hubby reports the same.

    Dr. Youn, I have a couple of questions regarding collagen!
    (1) If hydrolized collagen is a protein broken down into individual amino acids, then how do we know whether the body will actually use those amino acids as collagen in the body, and not turn it into some other protein that the body needs instead? Are we just assuming the body does indeed convert at least some of the amino acids into collagen because studies show an increase in pro-collagen, hydration, and elasticity in the skin after a prolonged period of intake?
    (2) Also if collagen is broken down in the body to amino acids anyways, then how is that any different from taking hydrolized collagen?

    • @Junkinsally
      @Junkinsally 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Because your body needs the amino acids to build your own collagen. If you’re suffering from any of aliments mentioned, you’re lacking the proper levels of amino acids to make collagen.

No matter what source of collagen is being consumed, it's missing tryptophan. Whey protein is also assimilated in small percentages by the body 15%. • @LisaApril
      @LisaApril 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      If you have an open wound you can put honey on it and then put the dressing on. My client who was 83 years old slipped and fell while riding his bicycle and his doctor put honey on the wound and wrapped it up. I as his Caretaker, I was told to remove the bandage every other day, reapply the honey and use a clean bandage to re-wrap the wound. Perhaps you can do this too. Here is what the Internet says and why I figure the doctor chose that method: People also ask
      Can I put honey on a wound?
      Honey has anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It can be used as a wound dressing to promote rapid and improved healing. These effects are due to honey's anti-bacterial action, secondary to its high acidity, osmotic effect, anti-oxidant content and hydrogen peroxide content.

      I’m a doctor (not a holistic surgeon like him but I can answer some stuff). Supplemental collagen is going to be more beneficial for those over 45, but if you are a younger athlete that would also be indicated. Both genders would benefit but typically women reach for it more for skin and nails and it’s more common in women’s everyday supplements. Most people tend to take collagen 1 and 2 for daily supplements. If we are an athlete you would want to take 3. A pregnant person would want to take 5.
      I personally don’t recommend taking collagen though. Not because I don’t think it can’t have benefits but mostly because as a supplement it’s not regulated by any government oversight body (in the US). This means that pretty much anything could be in the collagen supplement. There has been many people with allergies have reactions to protein powders and supplements vitamins because of contamination or purposefully “cutting” it with cheaper ingredients. In general, if you eat a fully balanced diet rich with meats and protein you do not need to take a collagen supplement. It really is only good for those that are deficient. I don’t think Dr. Youn has any bad intentions here, but he is also selling collagen and is going to be biased in this glorified advertisement.

    The logic of hydrolysed collagen is very very simple.
    It contains the exact amino acids needed for our own
    Collagen, just as bodybuilders eat chicken breast to gainnthe amino acids for muscle tissue.
    Imagine if Bodybuilders just gave up on eating protein because
    “It grts broken down innthe stomach anywwy!”
    Wth is this mass retardation on collagen?
