Dunno if I'd count The Stanley Parable as a punishment when pressing Skip is what you're supposed to do there. Far as I experienced, the narrator will eventually stop talking. The door is always locked so all you can do is skip. Not a punishment bc its not a shortcut.
Fallout 2 is one of my Top 3 desert island games. I've been playing it since it first released. After the first couple of playthroughs, The Navarro Run became tradition.
Control also has something like this in a dlc. IF (cause I don't think people have found a way to do this) you can skip to rooms you are not supposed to yet, they game calls you a cheater and klls you.
Though not exactly a shortcut, there's the key that opens all the doors, in the first Dark Souls. You can select it as a starting item, during character creation. It allows you to access areas before you're really supposed to. The punishment ? You'll probably be completely under leveled , when accessing those areas - especially in such a punishing game. One such example is The Valley Of The Drakes. Good luck with that 'shortcut'.
Prey by Arkane - "Treasure Hunt" - In this quest, you have to go to numerous crew quarters, some of which are really inconvenient to get to and involve going outside the station to get there. The passcode is static for the very end of the Treasurehunt... but... if you haven't done the leg work, then you get the BAD ending for the quest, and a mod that hinders you. You do it the right way, then it's the best mod in the game!
South Park: the Fractured But Whole doesn't exactly punish you for typing in the door combination before you are supposed to find it Cartman just pops up to tell you you're disrespecting the rules
Even if you hadn't played the game before, you get like 1-3 and 5 clues early enough and just following those alone can pretty much tell you where the treasure is hidden. Also, there are sections along the path that will briefly flash the shovel icon which was always very weird as they won't last but will continue to happen in the same locations meaning maybe something was originally going to be there? Maybe the mythical acorn had places like these that you could have planted it in. Or maybe there would have been decoy treasures hidden to trick you as you went along or even just as map markers to indicate that you were on the right path?
You can actually get pass the Deathclaws extremely easily, all you need is a 2 or 3 stealthboys and at least enough ammo to take care of a single young Deathclaw
@@Jeremy-ql1orthe game literally gives you them if you follow the tutorial through to the fullest, Sunny gives you the lockpicks to get into the school safe and there's even magazines to boost your skills & a computer as an alternative way to get them, they make it as easy as possible to get them immediately. You can just go right to the school from Doc's even. I've done the Cazador path, straight North from Sloan, and Primm Pass all thanks to the stealth boys you get for free in Goodsprings at the start
In Fallout New Vegas there’s a third option if you go to to the northeast you’ll come across a camp with the the Cazador if you haven’t used or sold Grenade launcher get in close yet high up that bombard there and you successfully wipe them out there level that will let you scale downwards safely still be careful there high leveled enemies
I used to curse Ace Attorney for now letting me apply my own logic and instead, as said in the video, having a very specific order you need to present the evidence. The game is linear as linear can be. However the more I played of the series the more I learned to follow IT's logic and way of thinking and... in Phoenix own words "turned my thinking around".
Beated on HARD Fallout 3/New Vegas using VATS only, no real-time shooting. And boy, it looks like these games are designed to play this way. You can kill Deathclaw or dispatch a pack of Casadors with ease, if you invest in crits and aim for the right parts.
The frying pan in fable sucks even if you find all the treasure clues. The real OP weapon is the Solus Greatsword purchased in Bowerstone north for about 90k gold. I usually get by on silver chest weapons and save my gold until I can get it. It has a higher damage than any other sword in the game including the Sword of Aeons and the DLC sword in that demon door that costs you all of your silver keys to open.

Fallout 3 punishes you more than new Vegas if you detonate the bomb in megaton it instantly gives -11000 bad karma and you dont get good karma again until activate the purifier at the end of the game

Anyone actually go to camp Navarro, in northern California that is? This was during the 90s, pretty sure it's shut down now 😢 That camp is what i think of when someone says camp Navarro lol
I can't for the life of me remember how, but I feel like I must have killed that deathclaw... I can still see myself loading and reloading for an age, deep in the false understanding that I had to cross that path -via the deathclaw. Fallout New Vegas was only my second open world RPG, Skyrim my first, and I grew up brute forcing everything or grinding my fingers to the bone. Exceptionally stubborn, but also too ragey for Dark Souls.

4:38 To New Vegas' credit, it's still possible and makes it feel more rewarding if you manage to get through without dying.
Fun fact: There's actually a point in the first Phoenix Wright game where presenting a piece of evidence too early results in a bad ending.

You won't have two or three Stealthboys at the very beginning.
You will if you pick the safe in Goodsprings open.

I'm surprised prey isn't on here for both the D&D toolkit and getting in the escape pod early.
Prey, getting a worthless chip if you enter the code before finding it
