@LockNoob love your videos can't tell you how many times I've searched YT and yours was just right. I sure do hope Bosnian Bill comes back, he has a calm in his voice and yet brunt force in his pick and gutting that just hits right.
Love how you talk conversationally & impromptu. And don't bother coreographing your picks. Thanks for your vids Lock Noob! Not that it's a competition, but I've grown to enjoy your vids more than other well known lock picking youtubers. I'd add too that I have a stock 1100 with a size 2 pin with no serrations
@lock Noob I can't believe Mad Bob locks ceased trading, they had a fantastic range of very nicely made tools. I'm glad I bought most of them before they disappeared.
Nice picking, quick, simple and no mess. You just have to love American locks and that one looks sublime with its brass shackle. Totally agree about the pins and I think my favourite out of the three you have in your hand is that serrated spool.
I've been struggling with the 1100's, also the 700's as well. Nice to see you getting through it rather quickly, and I love the gutting. Those pins are my nemesis, but I love them to, keeps me on my toes.
The 1100's are my all time favorite nemesis locks. I don't open them all that often, but when I do they are very satisfying. I find that when I do open them, I'm not really concentrating on them all that much. These locks get me in "the zone" more than most.
@@SirMildredPierce For me picking is like meditation, I never watch my hands just sit there and stare at the wall and feel everything. It's really relaxing, I'm never giving up, practice makes perfect!
I think I like that curvy tension wrench. Nice picking. OK, with every single pin either a spool or serated, I get the feeling they don't like us opening them without keys. Were the holes also threaded? While we are talking 1100's, I have an interesting lock I bought on amazon. It was listed just as a "master lock" but the picture was an 1100. When it got here, it is packaged as "American lock" brand, and indeed it is an 1100, with their logo stamped on it, and 1100 series stamped on the back. Now here's the difference, it has Master core. Key even is a typical master key with logo on the bow. Then I realized why, it's a loto lock. Doesn't say so on the lock, the package, or on amazon, but it has the second keyway as master loto locks, and other side of the key is marked "lockout" and "do not duplicate"
FYI Masterlock and American Lock are now all under the same company. Most of the AL1100 and other LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) locks I own (like the Masterlock 410) have "Do not duplicate" on the key.
@@TequilaDave yes of course LOTO keys are prohibited from duplication. I was just confused because the LOTO core was in what otherwise appears to be a standard gold colored AM1100 and had no indication that it was suitable for use as a LOTO lock. I had forgotten that American and Master were one and the same now. Btw: I only have the one red master LOTO and dont know what model it is, but both it and the 1100 with the LOTO core have 401 stamped on the keys.
I too have struggled using the gut wrench on my American cores! Please do make a follow-up video on proper usage. :) Now where the heck do I find myself one of these beautiful brass shackle 1100's?!
Lock picking lawyer has some Beautiful very high quality 1100 cutaway locks for sale on his site covert instruments there $90 dollars each but very desirable indeed
Since the core on the 1100 is not key retaining, I've been practicing with the shackle in the open position because of the heavy spring tension on the core. I unlock it with the key, return the core to the locked position then remove the key. I still have not achieved an open this way and am starting to wonder if it's even possible!?! Is this a sound practice method for these types of locks or am I wasting my time?
It’s a good way of practicing. Try progressively pinning it if you have disassembly tools, just make sure you know what your doing so you don’t mess up the lock
I think it's weird that the wafer breaker kit costs as much as the American Lishi and I'm glad I got my curved tension wrenches before madbobs got outta the business
Unrelated to video but got one of your monkey paws full size handle like the sparrows blank picks and it is amazing picking a lot quicker guess by better placement great work thanks and keep up the fantastic chanel 😀
Gota love those Mad Bobs tension tools got a set of 9 (3 straight, 3 curved one way and 3 the other way) Real shame when they stopped Was the key and everything else in the lock brass?
They have stopped but leftg many valuable videos on line: Bobby Keyz, Steel Pinnings and West Coast Picks. There's also "Flat Out" th-cam.com/channels/CN4JvcW4ejjwaYEjOsD4DA.html He has nothing to do with locks, but is utterly crazy and will make coffee come out your nose.
Love lock picking videos, been looking for new ones to follow since my fav. retired, so I will be watching all the time
Hope Bosnianbill makes a surprise re entry into YT later on.
I hope so too
BB is great, but to be honest, I've learned more off this channel.

Your tip about dragging the pick to find the binder just solved my spotty opening issue. Thank you.
The 1100 is one of my favorite locks! And that brass one is a beauty!
It’s lovely

Yeah it’s a big shame
I love your TOK tensioner. Seems very ergonomic and intuitive.
Yeah it’s great

Thanks for sharing that lovely lock. I got first 1100 lock open a few times in the last week. I am definitely enjoying those locks.

gentle small movement on the pins is my recommendation just go slowly
