- We are homeschooling our son for the first time this year!!! We are so excited for this new journey! After research and reviewing many curriculums, we have decided that we will be using ABEKA Academy Curriculum. So come along with me as I unbox our 4th grade curriculum! @@JoyfulYessi Hey! I will probably do a video in the near future on Abeka items, but feel free to ask me anything about ABeka. I've been homeschooling for over nine years and we've used it pretty much every year (Dvds, books, parent-led, accredited etc.). Also, I actually went to the college/school where ABeka is created so I have the scoop! 😅

You’re so welcome! I’m so excited for you!!! We are currently in Our second year, and homeschooling was the best decision we ever made! Just remember it’ll be a transition, homeschooling is very different than traditional public school, so do whatever works for your family! 🤗
Are you pulling out during Christmas break? I’ve thought about doing it, but am a little unsure, plus the cost for 1/2 year and then again for 4th grade. Success to you!
I’ve watched this two times! And am getting ready to look at your organizing the binder again!! Can you share why you opted for DVDs versus video. I am a Grandmother wanting to homeschool my grandson (my daughters had the ABeka curriculum during their schooling YEARS ago), so thank you for all you do to help us newbies!

We chose the dvds instead of doing video streaming because we find it more reliable. This way we wouldn’t have to be dependent on the internet. Sometimes we homeschool outside, sometimes the kids might watch a lesson on the way to their grandparent’s house, sometimes they homeschool at their grandparents, so we prefer the dvds because is much more convenient for our usage and portability 🤗

We are using Abeka for first time this year too, for a Fourth-grader too, we had been homeschooling for two years so far but the curriculums we had used so far didn't had the results we expected, hopefully with Abeka we'll get it this year! :)
I hope this one does it for you!😁It was definitely an adjustment for us but our son is learning so much! We eased into it and now he’s doing the full days successfully 🤗

So I'm not a teacher by profession...I am very interested in starting my child with Abeka for 4th grade. Will I get support from the program? I feel like a lot of the TH-cam videos are moms who have a teaching background. Thanks for your feedback
Hi! Awesome question! Funny thing is even though I’m a teacher my husband is the one who homeschools our children and he has absolutely no teaching background besides the fact that he himself was homeschooled. We do the academy with the dvds and He really likes the video teachers because they do a very nice job teaching so even if you weren’t super comfortable with a subject you can refresh along with your child. My husband does do a lot of review with our son and he actually sits with him through out the entire math lessons because there was a lot of the math background that my son didn’t have from previous years in school and we do a lot of extra spelling practice because it’s much more rigorous than what he was used to. I have to say that they provide a lot In the manuals that they send along with the video manual and absolutely everything has an answer key! I was so blown away with how much stuff they provide of the parent items event though we do the academy!!! Even if you choose the parent led one, I heard that the manuals have the words that you can say. But I’ll be completely honest, especially if your coming from the public school system, it is going to take some time to adjust especially because it’s quite rigorous, but oh my goodness, we are just so amazed at how much our son has learned since he began this year🤩🤩🤩 very satisfied!!!! 😁
