Can you explain more on the complete/essential kit... I saw a review stating during a test they needed the flash cards from the complete kit but they has the essential kit
Hi!! So the complete kit comes with a lot of extra flash cards, posters, etc. In my opinion, those aren’t necessary. I’ve never had to use flash cards for a test. 🤔 I guess it’s a personal decision whether you think you need all the extra stuff or not. But it’s definitely not necessary to teach. Hope that helps!
I am about to purchase Abeka Arithmetic 2. Can you tell me what you used? I want to make sure I have all of the pieces. I'm for sure getting the Workbook, Test/Drill book and the Teacher Manual. Did you use all the charts and games or anything? Thanks!
I do use the facts charts but you can easily print those from anywhere online 😅 If you want to save some money 🤗

agree on the safety. my son is going into 2nd grade and its easy to overlook the smal stuff .. this was super helpful and youre a rockstar for homeschooling! is your state geting back tonormal at all?
Yes schools are open full time for the fall. Things seem to be more normal but this new variant might change things. Who knows
I just ordered for my son and there was only a cursive option on the writing with phonics. I’ve looked and can’t find a manuscript one. I think he will be fine if he has to learn cursive so be it that’s how I write. 😂

Thank you!! You have to buy the parent kit and the student kit separately. And yes I purchased from the Abeka website. They sometimes have promo codes. I know a lot of people order from Christian books.com also. Hope that helps!!

Very helpful thank you. Is this the new version for second grade im about to order second grade and it asked me if I want the old or new version im curious to know what is in the new.
Glad you enjoyed! I purchased this in summer 2021 so I would assume it’s the new version? But not sure.

Does the readers have the child write reports or anything? I am asking for a friend she is wanting to do the program but use different readers. Is that possible?
Yes you could definitely do different readers! It wouldn’t affect the curriculum

They are separate. I think they do that so if you have multiple kids you don’t have to keep rebuying the parent books each year
I saw someone talk about videos do you have to use and buy those videos or does the teacher kit tell you what you need to teach each day?
So the videos is what they call “abeka academy” and that’s a totally different way to homeschool. Your child watches the videos each day and teachers will teach your child. You don’t really teach, you just facilitate. It’s kind of like virtual school. It is more expensive also. I have never done it so that’s pretty much all I know about that. Hope that helps!
Is the teacher books like the paper copy instead of the video option?
Yes. We don’t use the videos so I am the one actually teaching them. If you use the videos, you aren’t really reaching them. You are guiding them through it.
