No, Snufferites is a derogatory term used by the LDS church to label people that have become disenfranchised from the church. Denver is a friend of a friend, and if we went through all the books "bad guys" have on their book shelves, just because they got the wrong idea from some of them, doesn't mean they should be lumped in with agents of evil. I like Denver as a person, and it feels gross to me to use him to investigate Lori more. He has nothing to do with her, or any of her groups like Preparing a People or AVOW. He isn't in charge of any group. He doesn't organize anything, or ask anyone to organize anything. I just hope that he doesn't get dragged through the mud just for the sake of sensationalizing. Ironically, he probably doesn't give a crap what anyone says about him, but I feel like having the information means I can't just sit in the corner and not say anything.

I’ll correct this in the future. I have never said Denver was mixed in with Chad or Lori, I don’t know that, but I disagree that Denver shouldn’t be used to investigate Lori. Whatever Lori was reading and studying SHOULD be investigated, whether it’s Stephanie Meyers “Twilight”, or Denver Snuffer’s “Second Comforter”. How did she interpret these authors and what she was reading? it IS compelling information that Denver wrote this Second Comforter book about having a vision of Christ while encouraging readers to have their own Second Comforter experience, since both Lori and Chad claim their own personal visions of Christ. How did Denver’s book influence them? How did they interpret his teachings? At Hidden we delve into the Hidden motives, and the hidden workings of their minds and thoughts. Denver Snuffer matters.

In no way is she calling Denver out by trying to understand what was read by the alleged killers, and how they themselves may have interpreted it. It has little to do with the author himself, but lots to do with the context and Lori Daybell’s perception of it. We all perceive literature differently so saying Lauren is “calling out” the author, just for trying to understand how his writings could be interpreted, is like “calling out” King James bcuz the Bible doesn’t make sense to us.

Somewhere either in the Vogel videos or in listening to John Dehlin, they said that if you received the second comforter (which I thought was a myth) that you could no longer sin. I think they said "no longer sin" except murder. So I'm thinking when Lori and Chad were sealed in the temple, this was their second comforter and they then thought they were untouchable. The early history of the church is actually filled with this kind of crap. A lot of it I didn't know about. People married others while they were already married - and probably not just for the next life...similar to Lori marrying Chad in the temple while she was still married to Charles. If they were Snufferites, they probably knew the controversial history of the church and used it as an excuse for their behavior. They had a "mission". I've always thought this case goes way beyond Lori and Chad. I remember Snuffer being mentioned on AVOW, but I don't remember his participation in the group. Some people think he is a really good guy. I have no clue. But if you look at the early history of the church and look at this case, it's pretty scary.

The doctrine was (false doctrine I might add) that you would go into the temple and have your feet washed by Christ himself, and that was the second comforter, but if you had that happen, it meant that all the sins you committed after that, were on your head. It never happened to anyone. The feet washing was actually supposed to be the Second Anointing, but it's only performed on Temple Presidencies now, and Jesus isn't there for it. The Second Comforter is something entirely different. This is why I left that bloody church. So much confusion over simple biblical principles.
I think they look for people who will validate crimes they already want to commit (e.g. Lori said the Scriptures told her she was allowed to murder Joseph Ryan🙄). So when they read something that gives them permission to do wrong, they choose to believe.
People use the old testament when they do evil , but they forget when Jesus came Jewish law was no longer. No ten commandments , Jesus only gave 2 1. Love your 1 God above anyone else. 2. Love others as you would yourself. All the eye for an eye was the law given to Moses. New times came when Jesus came to Earth changed to turn the other cheek. Lori was wanting to be a warrior that old testament nonsense.
All these self-proclaimed prophets popping up everywhere. If someone told me they had visions and spoke directly to Jesus I'd be driving them straight to the psychiatric ward at the hospital, not letting them lead my spiritual life. Seems like Chad and Lori were both so desperate to be important and noticed that they failed to see any consequences for their hateful actions in getting there.
Lori, I love y'all's channel! I really enjoyed when you talked about the differance between your husband and your religions. My husband and I were both raised in differant religions him a Southern Baptist and me being Catholic. Our beliefs couldn't be more differant. Like you my husband wasn't overly religious so I raised my children I'm my faith. lori doesn't strike me as intellectually curious enough to validate this author's credentials before reading his book. whatever that book says, i'd bet she swallowed it whole. OT, why was she asking chad what color Jesus eyes were? i thought she saw Him herself.
When I moved to Boise last year my mom wanted me to seek him out. She felt he was a true profit and the church was falling into being lost to less than truly called, and DS was someone who was in touch with God. It was during lockdown so I never considered it, but obviously he has a following.

Passing the heavenly gift is an astonishing book and the answer to those who struggle with the most problematic issues about church history. In my view it is a must read for anyone who wants to remain in Mormonism.
