I got a 3d printer (Bambu Labs P1P) but never actually made anything like this - mostly just functional stuff, the occasional collapsing sword or other small toys and ornaments. Recently seen some videos from you and from Frankly Built and sorely tempted to give this a shot.

    • @make432
      @make432  ปีที่แล้ว

      We usually save steel wool for the final sanding before painting just to clean everything up and usually stick to 000 or 0000 (the more zeroes the smoother the finish)

    Resin for the hammer head... How'd it hold up? Sturdy enough?

  • @DaTr1Xa
    @DaTr1Xa ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice work, step by step.
    i bought the stl and try to build the hammer too. all pieces of the handle are already printed. :)
    i have a question. there are 4 ornaments in each stl files (greebles for side cap 1/2). is it possible for an FDM printer to make the decorations available to print every plate flat on the build plate? currently i would print them with support and slope.
    the project is fun. im thinking to buy some star wars stuff. :)

    • @make432
      @make432  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! The FDM printer might have difficulty printing the detail, but you can give it a try! Good luck, let us know how it goes!

    • @mckennaodonnell7138
      @mckennaodonnell7138 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have the Meshmixer application you can split the ornaments up into separate files, which would then allow you to orient them to be flat on the built plate. I know it is extra work to do before printing, but for me it seems like a better pay off with better detail on the front and easier/quicker printing all together

  • @Purely_Satisfying

    One thing to mention the handle is a bit long to print on the Prusa MK3 its taller than the print space. I had to run it on its side and lay it flat. Not sure how that is going to come out but FYI to anyone who is getting this to print.

    • @make432
