  • OpenTx Snippets are a new series for 2021. These videos are intended to be short and focused on answering the most common questions I receive on OpenTx.
In this OpenTx Snippet I'll show you how to sequence landing gear and landing gear doors without the need for a hardware sequencer. I even include delayed movement for a more scale effect.

You make it easier to understand OpenTX. Every once in awhile, a light bulb comes on inside my head. Thanks for these snippets.

Thank you so much - I have been looking for this possibility. Nice - now only need to set up 2 receivers with 12 channels.

Seems really useful, I was just thinking about buying an assembled retractable gear

Yeah, this is definitely a cool party trick with OpenTx.

Excellent! Don’t think I would have come up with this. I set it up once for my Avios MiG-17, but that one kept the doors open. I ordered a Freewing Cougar and I’m eager to apply this extra closing feature!

Great video. Works perfectly but Door is fouling the front steering. What would be the change to keep doors open while retracts are down.

th-cam.com/video/fR7mvJ18mfo/w-d-xo.html It can be done. Consider the logic and take a look at sticky switches...

Hi i am struggling to achieve a logical switch for landing gear safety. If the altitude is 0 then the gear switch SF will not work, unless if i press the momentary switch SH once then i could activate again the gears although the altitude would be 0, and then if i press again the switch SH the gear switch SF will be deact again. Any ideas?

Great video. Works great but when I turn the radio on it does one cycle. Any ideas what's wrong?

Most of the time it's an SxR unleess I want GPS Return to Home. Then it's Kopilot for basic local needs or iNav.

I've got a radiomaster tx16 with edge tx on it.
I've spent most of my day trying to set up retracts on the gear channel on a spektrum receiver .
Why does it have to be so complicated to do a simple thing like dx8 would be able to do.
I don't get I've got everything else to work apart from theses retracts .
Is there someone nice enough to help me with this please.

Figure out what channel # your RX is using for flaps. Probably 5 or 6. On the radio mix page on line 5 or 6, add a switch. It's very simple to do.

PS You might want to watch some of my videos on inputs/mixes/outputs to learn the basics of EdgeTX before pulling your hair out over functions you'll need to understand. Once the light goes on, you'll be amazed how easy and flexible this system is.
