History and Archives in Practice: In Conversation series on lunchtime talks July 2024
Tony Dowmunt is an Emeritus Professor, co-supervising Practice Research PhDs, mostly in the field of radical and 'alternative' documentary practices and is co-director of the London Community Video Archive (LCVA). His work focuses on documentaries, alternative/community media and practice research in the moving image.
On Monday 22 July, Tony joined chair, Dr Claire Langhamer, Director of the Institute of Historical Research and social and cultural historian of modern Britain who specializes in the history of everyday life, to talk about LCVA and the outreach and partnership programme of community screenings and events they’ve been running for the last six years that reach out to current groups working in these areas who want to learn from the past.
