The real aircraft is an absolute joy to ride in as a passenger. On a cold day, the take-off power pushes you back in the seat. Also, they do some kind of first flight of the day run-up test of the engines before going on to the active runway. A good friend of mine had about 3000 hours in the real thing doing regional work. Thanks for the video review!
Great review, heads up,turbine aircraft dont have mixture controls, those are fuel condition levers. On start, you move them to a low idle position to introduce fuel to the engine, and this only after the starter have turned your compressor turbines up to a minimum speed, failure to do so will cook the engine.
Late to the show here but just to note. The condition lever does not do what you seem to think it does. It has three settings. Fuel-cutoff, low-idle, high-idle. Effectively you use the low-idle on the ground. It effectively sets the low end speed. On the ground you don't need as low thrust as you can get, which the low idle does. If it was in high-idle all the time you would end up having to keep applying the brakes to keep at sensible taxi speeds. In the air, you obviously need to make sure you keep the revs up (as turbo-jets/props take longer too spool up than piston engines), or you may end up not being able to bring up power quickly enough on approach
Hi Osamah. I am presently searching for an aircraft within the parameters of the b1900d and I take your recommendation. Have you done any videos where you use its navaids during a flight? I'm trying to assess the functional accuracy of the avionics. You also mentioned the tbm850 by carenado. Have you completed a video regarding that aircraft?
Hey there Jon, I haven't done a video on the TBM, but it was featured in one of my videos. It is at par with this one in terms of quality, but is an FPS eater as well. The avionics and AP are pretty much those of XP11.
Thanks for your reply. I am very much enjoying observing the progress of the overlays you are producing for your ideas. I like the idea of your scoring system but a benchmark should be set ie the pmdg dc6b. I would say the pmdg offering is a good place to start. Using this method of comparison, would you still have given those marks?
Nice review mate...couple of things to add... They are not mixture levers so you cant lean the mixture fuel is on or off. High idle gives you a higher idle setting on the ground to allow aircon to work more efficiently. Turboprops do not have mixture. Leave your battery on...first a dual gen failure or trip woukd mean you lose ALL power. Also you cant recharge a battery which is off so its left on at all times. Nice review still im hesitant about buying it a second time with no discount for previous owners. Pretty poor form by Carenado and my xp10 1900 works well in 11... Keep them coming...
I loved the review format of this video and I think adding a scoring system at the end is great. Now if only simcoders would touch this plane and create the reality expansion pack :)
Do you think it would be worth trying this guy with the Rift, or will the FPS kill the experience? I think those dials and cockpit would look pretty awesome in virtual reality!
Hi, Do you need Xplane 11 to run this game? And What are some other minimum equipment and/or software that you need to run this simulator ? Thanks in advance.
i just purchased this and its such a buggy mess. the copilots head is missing. i cant figure out how to remove the pilot models, half of the gauges arent even showing anything. 99% of the buttons i cant even click as it does nothing. I cant remove the yoke from view. is there anything else im missing? maybe i installed it wrong but all i did was put it into my xp11 folder in the subfolder aircrafts. same place i put my zibo 737. ANY ideas whats wrong? or is this just a buggy piece of crap?
@@Retrohertz so new issue now, im on the efis panel, and none of the buttons can click except alt sel. when i hover it shows my mouse and the hand. any idea if this is a bug. ?
You prob answer this question a thousend times , but because i don't see it in your comments , i ask again : What graphics card do you use for X-Plane 11 ? and what Cpu ?
Love your videos especially the tutorials You did a X-Plane 11 video using MCE and stated you like the plugin but have not used it since. Also, have you looked at Pilot2ATC - I think it is a great ATC tool for X-Plane 11
Hi QPilot, love the videos (subsciribed!), quick question. after the Citation II , what plane is the 2nd best Carenado plane in their entire hangar for x-plane 11? They have a big sale right now, not everything is on sale, but a lot of stuff including this B1900D. However, it seems to be a frame killer per your video so I'll stay away from it. Any suggestions are certainly appreciated. I don't care what type of plane (GA or business Plane), just want the best bang for the buck and get the best plane available (I already have the Citation II). Again, just planes that they have modeled for x-plane 11 only.
Hi Q8pilot great review..... I fly the 1900D in real life... This model looks great. Mind if I ask what GPU and CPU you are using for this quality? I may go purchase this one for xp11. I have it already for FSX, but I believe it will be a better experience in xp11. Thanks.
@ridiculous Flight Simmers ----->>> after you purchased this frame hog, what was your experience? what type of hardware did you buy to make this thing smooth like the summer breeze? I would love this aircraft but I have only a 2080Ti and a 3.4GHz CPU which will probably going to make it fly like Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang.
Hi Osamah! Great video :) I was just curious as I am relatively new to flightsimming, whether or not these settings will be sufficient to run X-Plane at KLAX on max objects with at least 30 fps, in the Zibo Modded 737? You should be fine, but not at max settings for all sliders. You will need to adjust some sliders for best performance. What kind of monitor are you using?
Nice video Q8. I am glad you raise FPS values. People will buy and be upset at performance otherwise. They never really warn of FPS and performance on these aircraft sales. Why should they. It's money in the bank. Who cares. Also, when you fire up the engines, could you toggle to external when engines spinning up. Thanks for a great review :-)
Good review like numerical rating system. I wouldn't purchase due to FPS but it's a good aircraft. I have the B58 and like it a lot especially with the Simcoders addon. Thx Osamah
I have a mid range computer and with my settings on low I'm still only getting around 20fps. This plane really doesn't affect my fps that much from what I've seen unless your maxing out settings which I can't do anyways so I wouldn't notice.
Thanks for watching! So what are your settings like? 20-25 is very low when you can achieve 40-45 with other complex aircraft. I think I show the decrease in FPS, and give a reference point. It is without a doubt a resource hungry aircraft.
@@Q8Pilot it could be that it was not "frame optimized" for x-plane 11. x-plane 11 is built on a more complicated resource model and slightly newer version of the engine kernel.
Who turns the battery off...... you don't need that anymore lol, battery stays on friend. Not a great start up. You should be able to hit the starter get the N1 up to 17 % then introduce fuel to low idle. No mixtures it's a turbine, those are condition levers and you take off and taxi in low idle.
RadarNC I see where you coming from, it is frustrating for sure. But if a company made a plane for..let's say XP9, if everyone expect them to be a free upgrades till Xplane15, how are they supposed to make more planes for future? Caronado already issued quite a few free upgrades to XP11, you can't expect them to do the same for every single aircraft
10-30 minutes of PBR work in photoshop doesn't justify charging people full price for the "SAME" 3D model and plane/systems! w/ the same flight model and bugs as the XP10 version!....Sorry Q8 I love your channel and Ive never down voted a video before but this time i had to to boycot Cerenado and what they are doing to their XP customers!

Could you make a video about how to install and use Real Terra Haze?
Can you review the E-195V2? ( I don't remember who made it but it's on the X-Plane.org store)
I believe it is x-crafts that made it. Ok I will consider this for a future video. Thanks for making suggestion!

What are the plugins / environment plugs that you are using or is this stock x-plane 11?
I am using xEnviro. Thanks for watching!
Hi Q8Pilot! May I know what is the maximum flight time for this plane?
Great review. It looks amazing in VR as well. Performance is poor, but will try your suggestions to leave the master panel lights off.
