My top 5 :) 1. IXEG 737-300 (with tweaking) 2. Flight Factor 757 v2 3. Airfoillabs C172 4. Flight Factor 767 5. ATS MD-82 (with tweaking and even though it is not 100% complete)
Q8Pilot yeah the ATS is more a personal favorite because of the systems and the love to the MD aircraft. Some things just look better in te cockpit IMO. Still hope they are going to finish it.
I remain amazed at the extreme step forward to advance pc-based flight simulation that X-Plane 11 is. For years, "XP" was in a solid 3rd place in flight sims following MS's FS series and, for a while, programs like "Flight Unlimited III", a 1999 flight simulator video game developed by Looking Glass Studios and published by Electronic Arts. XP-10 was the 1st iteration of X-Plane that caught the eye of simmers with JRollon's CR-200 and the IXEG 737. Many simmers will remember their 1st flight at a MisterX6 airport like KPHX, KSNA, KLAX, KSFO, and his others that were breathtaking in the advance forward. Mine was at night and I'm thinking, 'yeah, now we are getting somewhere'. Then, X-Plane 11 - ... just looking at the lighting of the Rotate MD-80 in this video shows a computer program that has become a bit of a "flying magic art machine'; the flight-simmers version of a 'holodex'. Wonders how their anticipated MD-11 will be delighting the aviation-imagination of simmers - probably more 'cupeth runneth over' with this marvelous program. I need a better box to run it but the thought of Austin Meyer for President has occasionally crossed my mind. Well done, sir - 'lead on'.

As usual, great to have your insight. I hope with the increased interest in XP 11, developers will concentrate on bringing top class addons to the marketplace. Good ATC and weather in particular still have shortcomings. P
I must agree. I own all of these except the C172 and they are pretty good. But obviously this is as of June 2017. There have been quite a few notable additions. FF A320, FJS 732 V3, FJS 727 V3, Toliiss A319... I own all of those now too and frankly it has become more difficult for me to select which plane to pick for a flight. There are so many great planes now. I must say the Rotate MD 80 is my latest aircraft of all these. I waited a long time to finally get it, but right now if i had to pick an ultimate favorite to save my life it probably would be that one. It feels very old. But frankly they are all good, and add to that free Zibo and Ultimate 737-900... What a dilemma when I launch X plane now.
the ranking is plausible but I have the feeling you might have forgotten the Tu-154M by Felis. This one is for sure a study sim aircraft with by far the highest learning curve in X-Plane (10&11)
Steve Woolham don’t worry even pilots make mistakes so find videos and manuals and study them hard that’s my advice oh and practice that important to and don’t give up

Q8Pilot Hmmmm, just can't decide, it would cost an extra 200.00 UK pounds for the 1080ti over a 1080. Just don't know if the performance gains in Xplane 11 would be noticeable compared with a 1080. The problem is you can't find 1080 vs 1080ti Xplane 11 benchmarks....Sigh!!.

Hey there! Love the video and may I just ask, do you think that the Flight Factor 777 worldliner and the extended model is realistic, both systems model and details/sounds. I would love to hear the feedback on that. Also just another side note, I have been playing X-Plane11 for nearly a year since this comment is out and I have the FF767-300er and love it but I am wondering do you think 9-20fps is manageable, as that is what I get in my simulation and am use too so much. My system is: i5-4400 3.4 ghz, turbo boost to 3.6 ish I believe. 8 gb ram Intel Integrated half gigabyte graphics card. I know this is bad and especially the graphics card is letting me down, and I am wondering if you think a 900-1000 dollar PC is worth it for X-Plane. I haven't flown many of the others yet despite having many installed but I really like the Rotate MD-80. Now they're working on releasing an MD-11 toowhich will for me anyway make FSX or P3D soon obsolete heh

It seems like there are no study level Airbus planes, but they are priced like study level. The CRJ200 is interesting, but having the sound pack as a separate purchase. I played the tutorial videos and there is sound with that aircraft.
i went a bit mad when installing freeware scenerey, i had many good packs that made it look really realistic, however it started to take a hit on the fps, can you make a list of must have freeware scenery that will make a realistic world with minimum ammount of addons which dont hit the fps to badly? a bit of a mouthfull but...
Wait a sec. So the FF 757v2 is a more complex simulation than the IXEG 737-300 ? I mean I haven´t flown either of them but I always had this impression that IXEG was like PMDG and FF was like Aerosoft. But if that´s not the case than it´s only music to my ears since that means there are more study-level aircraft for X-Plane 11 than I thought. The same applies to Rotatesim MD-80. Is it really on par with the IXEG bird ? I have to say I´m surprised. I used to think it´s IXEG > .... > Rotatesim > FF.

I actually thought about the md-80 rotate, but I was on the fence because there is a default aircraft for it in xp11. Is it still worth it? C172 is kind of a different story. I will probably end up purchasing it since it is much more advanced than the default 172. Would be good to have for practice while trying to get a PPL I think.
Moe if you want a study sim MadDog, wait for the ATS. Many say that the Rotate is a study sim, but it isn't. Still it is a solid aircraft so if you want to fly a Maddog within this season i would go for the Rotate
Maurits I agree completely. The Rotate may look nice, but it just doesn't have the study level characteristics of the ATS. The systems are nowhere near as accurate.
It is not correct for sure. The Isolation valve and engine bleeds should be off after engine start and should remain so until thrust reduction after take off. The checklist that comes with the aircraft says they should be auto and on respectively which is not correct.
Is 757 or 767 comparable to PMDG 737? What about 777 pro? Anyone flying it? Is it comparable to PMDG 737 in terms of system simulation, FMS functionality, etc? Can I use real POH & QRH on them as I do in PMDG?

As I clearly said in the video, it is classified as a study level simulation. Many critics see it as such though it is missing some important features. It is still very immersive and very representative of the real B737 by account of real Boeing pilots.
Q8Pilot I know it is, but it's such a vital feature when u r flying in a very busy airspace, even the default planes have this feature, I just can't get my head around it, what was so difficult to make it work
Cian Mc sweeney for me it works perfectly in XP11, but there are knows issues with the sound in replay, with GPWS callouts and also double-nav lights if using non-winglet version

What would i need to get started with x-plane 11? I played alot of x-plane 10 back in the day and i want to get back into the civilian world again, which would mean x-plane 11. In x plane 10 i had the airfoil labs 172, the ixeg 737 and the ff777-300ER Would i need anything else than just x plane 11 maybe the 757 or 767? The stupid cost of scenery and the fact that literally EVERYTHING is stupidly overpriced is really throwing me off :/ Stupid paywalls :(
How in the bloody Hell do you get your xplane to look so good . I have a intel 6800k CPU, 16g of 3000 memory , as us Maximus 7 formula motherboard. Evga gtx 980 ti ftw video card. What am i doing wrong. What a do you for add on for xplane 11 have right now.
I would give the x737 an honourable mention despite it being freeware/donationware. My personal recommendation would be to buy the x737 FMC as it takes it up to the next level.
Maurits Veen The 767 by FF I already mentioned. pls do check out the last part of the video. The SAAB isn't compatible with xp11 as of the time of making the video.
Am I the only one who've had a very very bad experience in the 757 from Flight Factor? - Autopilot wouldn't work properly, Nav alignment never happened, along with some other bugs on copilots instruments.

The FSLabs A320 is a wonderful high fidelity aircraft for sure. A real airbus pilot told me that it is the closest thing ever made of an A320 for flight simulation. Hopefully once the update for P3D v4 is available, I will make a full flight video =)
Barely anyone mention general aviation aircraft...where's the love. Can we get carb heat in these 172's please? No turbo prop lovers? Why no good citations or falcons. I'd pay for them. Maybe a solid challenger. I've honestly been flying the stock 172 a lot over the airfoil labs version, I think it sounds better.
Yes, but for me the power off performance is extremely important as I am a real world cessna pilot practising power off maneuvers in the sim, like emergency landing and gliding from key point. Hence practising with a plane that has unrealistic glide performance is far from optimal, to put it mildly :)
It's a known issue at the moment due to Laminar changing how the flight model works in XP11. That's why the IXEG 737 is not fully XP11 supported just yet.
I reckon many people don't know about Felis airplanes or are too afraid to even have a look at them since they are a handfull of work to fly with only one pilot and not having an fms, might be a huge drawback but man the Tu-154M is a great payware aircraft and even better than most that have been mentioned in this video

Hey buddy, I had a TITAN X (Maxwell) and went for the 1080Ti. About 30% improvement in performance overall.

The ATS isn't that much different than its RotateSim counterpart. Personally, I prefer the version by RotateSim.

It means it'srealistic enough to be used for training. It's almost as good as the real plane.

Twenty Five Hundred the plane isn't finished development yet, the hold function is planned in the future

The best is moded Zibo. It is by far the best freeware addon for x-plane 11.
You forgot the Felis plane TU154m, and also at least the FlyJSim 727 V2 (and the 737 to come, as the current one is good but not as good as the V2)

What would i need to get started with x-plane 11?
I played alot of x-plane 10 back in the day and i want to get back into the civilian world again, which would mean x-plane 11.
In x plane 10 i had the airfoil labs 172, the ixeg 737 and the ff777-300ER
Would i need anything else than just x plane 11 maybe the 757 or 767?
The stupid cost of scenery and the fact that literally EVERYTHING is stupidly overpriced is really throwing me off :/

I would give the x737 an honourable mention despite it being freeware/donationware. My personal recommendation would be to buy the x737 FMC as it takes it up to the next level.

Am I the only one who've had a very very bad experience in the 757 from Flight Factor? - Autopilot wouldn't work properly, Nav alignment never happened, along with some other bugs on copilots instruments.
Will definitly buy the b757 :D

The FSLabs A320 is a wonderful high fidelity aircraft for sure. A real airbus pilot told me that it is the closest thing ever made of an A320 for flight simulation. Hopefully once the update for P3D v4 is available, I will make a full flight video =)

Barely anyone mention general aviation aircraft...where's the love. Can we get carb heat in these 172's please? No turbo prop lovers? Why no good citations or falcons. I'd pay for them. Maybe a solid challenger. I've honestly been flying the stock 172 a lot over the airfoil labs version, I think it sounds better.
Do 228 by carenado is one of my favourites overall and the default 172sp with simcoders reality expansion. all i need
airfoillabs is pretty nice but behaves unrealistically. glide distance for example is completely off
There are some things that are off, but for the most part it behaves like a Cessna 172 would.
Yes, but for me the power off performance is extremely important as I am a real world cessna pilot practising power off maneuvers in the sim, like emergency landing and gliding from key point. Hence practising with a plane that has unrealistic glide performance is far from optimal, to put it mildly :)
If you reach out to AirfoilLabs, I am sure they would look into the problems. They have been extremely responsive to feedback from the community.
It's a known issue at the moment due to Laminar changing how the flight model works in XP11. That's why the IXEG 737 is not fully XP11 supported just yet.

I reckon many people don't know about Felis airplanes or are too afraid to even have a look at them since they are a handfull of work to fly with only one pilot and not having an fms, might be a huge drawback but man the Tu-154M is a great payware aircraft and even better than most that have been mentioned in this video
many people are simply not up for that challenge
