Gotta be honest, if an addiction to awards is the only reason I'm loggin in I don't wanna play the game. With that said, THE FINALS(!) is friggin good, and I want to see more. BTW your commentary is great and your gameplay is better, immediate sub.
I am one of them filthy casuals (I don't play ranked). The game right now is too damn sweaty for my friend group, if you plan on winning even like 1/3 of your games - you have to lock in. My friends stopped playing the game, because they all say "this shit is crazy I can't keep up". I am pretty good, like nowhere near pros, but above average, but even I feel like I lose most games I am not sweating. Embark really sees the future of the game in the highly competitive players (which the new defuse game mode is a clear indication towards) and I think its a mistake. They need casual large modes, more maps and they need to do something about meta just stomping every other thing in the game (if you want to play with a cool gun instead of the meta gun, you are expected to play 2x as good as the other guy, which is further exasperating the sweatiness issue). I've finished the non-bonus battle pass and logging on after a couple month break feels like I am learning to walk again, while every adult tries to trip me up. This is like the only game, where I start with a couple minutes at a training range, just so I can play casual modes.
I definitely would have related to this sentiment a lot in my younger years, but at this point I just play games to have fun this is the main reason that I usually don’t grind ranked; for me personally once I start focusing on only winning instead of just having fun then it drains all of the joy out of gaming. It’s always ideal to win and it feels good but once you reframe your mindset into not caring about losing and focusing only on having fun or improving your skills it makes losing just as enjoyable as winning
@@realslop That's fair, but getting stomped 5 games in a row is just never fun, or feeling like you can only do well if you carry the match. When I used to play with a friend, we could at least laugh around, but now,playing alone, when my teammates running meta loadouts and still pulling sub .5 kds or smth along those lines, that just really kills any mood to play the game. I loved the chaos of the OBT and the first month, but now that the game is figured out pretty much, it's just not as fun, even if you lock in like crazy and win.

I really don't understand this mindset... You're playing a multiplayer team-based shooting game, it's going to be inherently competitive, and with more and more people growing up with these types of games kids are really fuckin good. I grew up with Counter Strike 1.6 and have always been naturally good at these games and enjoy the competitive nature of it. How are you going to go into it expecting to play against equal-skill-level people when playing an unranked mode? If you and your friends aren't having fun in these games have you guys thought maybe competitive games just aren't for you?
The first thing you said is ironically the exact reason why I never played past the beta tests, mostly because playing solo was boring and the only friends who enjoyed the beta at all with me were not willing to grind out so many games just to get a decent weapon and ability to play with, doing the slog through another NOTHER grind for all the gear and weapons in the live game was just not happening, so I never went back. I know this could be completely different now, but I wasn't willing to find out. Having a grind for equipment and weapons in a game like this is pointless in the first place, you want access to options, because it keeps the game fresh and interesting, and nothing turns players off like saying "wowee I sure can't wait to finish another 10 games to unlock one new gun to use and then another 10 to get that neat class/playstyle defining ability I like that is locked for some reason." You wanna give people progression to work towards, make it skins and cosmetics and shit like was being talked about like dumb emblems and shiny crap to collect, making the gear unlockable at such a slow pace was a turn off to me and at least 3 other people I played the tests with, so I imagine it probably turned other players off as well.
I’m fine with casual modes but I’m not looking to turn this game into Fortnite or Roblox cause when you login it’s an overload of menus and microtransactions the casual modes are quick play stuff like bank it and cash out and quick cash and terminal attack currently I don’t think every game needs casual and competitive but that’s me. very good points bro, I’d personally agree that I’m fine with the game how it is and don’t want it to turn into fortnite but at the same time I want the game to be successful and be around for a long time and having casual options would probably help increase the playerbase
@@realslop they do have lots of big plans I think if they added in a custom tournament mode with spectator mode in it it’d draw in competitive tournaments as well as if they put money into marketing as they haven’t much also introducing a bit more content I think would add to the player base

The only problem are heavy's they tank wayyyy too much 350 health with a dome shield and a 750 Health meshsheild is too much and why does a shotgun do more damage than a sniper 🤔
If you add another game to your list of things the finales needs to emulate doesn't it just end up sounding like you want the finals to become said game? Overwatch is being widely hated rn and personally I think the finals needs its own identity not to be more like something else.
the reason overwatch is being hated has absolutely nothing to do with the calling card/ emblem system nor is that a core part of the games identity that the finals would be copying. calling cards, like killcams, are just a standard thing in the genre that would add a little much needed spice to grind for in the finals and it doesn’t even have to be calling cards, my point is simply that they need to add something to grind for
@@realslop Isn't that what ranked is for? They are adding a new rank next season, and they also said in the A.M.A that they plan to add more levels for regular progression.
@@Anyhl sorta but a lot of people who grind the game don’t even play ranked or have any interest in competitive more progression levels would be another way to solve this issue, but currently you finish everything and get to level 50 way too fast imo in a perfect world there would just be infinite levels that they keep adding more and more rewards to and then there would be no need for a calling card type system
