  • Practice, practice, practice is what my grandfather would always say. He would also mention that practice makes perfect. With these words of wisdom. It only makes sense to do a practice run on camping for International Camporee by camping in your backyard. We used the church’s backyard. We marked out our plot of land and made sure the Pathfinders knew how we would be camping. Please share this video with someone who is going to International camporee.

We just finished a weekend campout at a local state park so that the staff & kids could use to camping together (for some this is their 1st camping experience). Hopefully this will translate well when we arrive in Gillette in a few weeks.

Looks like you guys are getting just under 94 square feet per person. That's tight! I'm still working on defining club boundaries for my conference. I have preliminary info from the Union, so I can get an idea of what I'm working with, but I don't have the final version yet.

Yep it’s tight for sure. That was on reason we did the scale model and practiced. We wanted to make sure it would work! See you in Gillette!

Canada doesn't have their areas marked out yet for our conferences or clubs. They are currently working on that. So as of right now we are winging it.

Canada here too. I've used the information provided on the map on the website to model different configurations possible to make sure everything will fit. Hopefully they give us actual dimensions soon.

We'll be doing the same; plotting out a piece of land and mocking everything up. We're waiting for final dimensions of our space though. How do you feel about your tents and canopies in potential constant high winds?

Yeah wind is going to be a problem. We bought some heavy duty metal stakes. We are also brining empty gallon milk jugs. We will fill them with water when we get there and use them to weight things down. We have had kids brining empty jugs from home for a few months now. See you soon.
