I am so happy that God revealed your purpose for being in pathfinders. It is so much work but the rewards are great. I've retired from Pathfinders and now I teach Juniors and Earliteen at my church. They are a challenge at times but every now and then one of them will say something and praise God, they were listening!! Yes we need to encourage and pray for each other because this age group is so important. They are making choices that will determine their future. I'm praying for you. You were so discouraged in the other video and I'm so glad that you are out of that frame of mind. Please pray for me as I teach Sabbath School. My desire is for them to see Jesus in me and give their life to Him. We serve a mighty God!
“Those who have a 'why' to live, can bear with almost any how” Viktor Frank Before the camporee I made plans to meet you because I love your videos, I have always wanted to make pathfinders content, but then the camporee happened and caos came to almost every club . I have been praying and glad that you found your why. When I was talking to a friend about the camporee and re-living all the bad things, my conclusion was, 6 of my pathfinders were baptized (including my son). What else could I ask from a camporee? See you in Gillette in 5 years.
Great perspective! I think it's fitting that God sent a double rainbow. Do we focus on the storm or the beautiful promise He showed? Definitely a lesson for us all to focus on the positives & praise God for those beautiful souls that have made their commitment to the Lord, including your son despite the challenges! God is good!🙏
Building lasting relationships with your pathfinders is so impactful. I still have former pathfinders contact me and share memories. I cherish those connections so much.
Thank you so much for sharing! My why as an area coordinator: to support and unify our directors with God’s strength, grace, and power so that they can, in turn, lead the youth closer to God and each other.
So happy to hear this update! The short version of my "Why Pathfinders?" is I grew up in clubs, and I want to help other kids have good opportunities to be involved with Church and Jesus too. Matt 10:8 (second half) Freely ye received, Freely give
Thank you so much for sharing! I am so happy you'll be continuing as a director. You've been such an inspiration to me ever since I became club director in the middle of 2020. You gave me ideas and resources for that fully virtual year and beyond. You inspire me to constantly be improving things in our club each year. I'm looking forward to more of your videos! Tonight was our registration night for the new year and only 6 Pathfinders from four families showed up. I was feeling very discouraged because we had 20 Pathfinders last year, and I worried that people didn't enjoy the experience last year or at Camporee, but while I was watching this I started getting texts from our missing families sharing their reasons why they couldn't make it tonight but will be there next Tuesday. We'll still have a full club this year!
I have been in this position. It’s totally normal for club size to decrease coming off the high of camporee. I see this time and time again. I read this quote in a book about youth ministry once and it really stuck with me: “Don’t count the kids, make the kids count.” Whether it’s 6 or 20, Pathfinders is important work.
María: Audra, been praying for you! 🙏🏽 I enjoy watching your videos so much! It was heartbreaking to see and hear of your experience and how it affected you. I’m praying God gives you peace among the storms. May God continue to bless you, your family, and your Pathfinder club! ❤
May God continue to bless you and all the staff. God has put us here for a beautiful purpose.
