- I normally make sewing videos but in this video I show you how I turn a dull room into a beautiful serene master bedroom. This is going to be used as an airbnb so we decided to remove the closets to prioritize a king sized bed!

Why would anyone remove two great built-in closets and replace them with a small one? Plus the self was unique. And I also liked the blue color.
Yes and yes I completely agree. It’s so so strange that anybody would move a closet like that the closet to built-in it’s strong sturdy not like the little wicker cabinet. You can hardly put anything in a closet. You can stack things and use organizational bins, different kind of hanging racks. Also, the color on the walls was nice. At least it was color right right ❤❤
So you traded two good size closets for one super small armoire....ok why?

Exactly what I was thinking. Why do that??? Even if using as a guest room people need a closet even when traveling. So now you have no closet space for guests to hang up stuff and you created a room that technically can’t be called a bedroom without a closet I believe? At best it would be considered maybe a bonus room? 😬🤔 To each his or her own I guess…

Two of my favorite things are the color blue and books, so anything I would say would be biased.
You lowered the value of your home by removing all closets now the room cannot be appraised as a bedroom.

It looks nice. Personally I'm not a fan of white or white-like walls. It just makes it feel cold and sterile. I like light pastels with white trim. It's a little more warming and welcoming.
Wait, you moved the DOORWAY? Like, you literally knocked down walls? And I can’t believe anyone would get rid of that beautiful blue in favor of white or want to remove closet space. So weird.
Agreed- removing the unique doorway shelf and TWO closets and relocating the door is just dumb. The color was nice; if it needed refreshing why not use another color instead of just another bland basic white room? I don't see any improvement.

Where I live it's no longer a bedroom if it doesn't have a window and a closet...
If we sell we will probably build a closet but we really wanted to prioritize a king bed since this will be used mainly as an Airbnb 😊

@@littletohEven staying overnight somewhere, people still use closets. How many hotels have you ever stayed at that DON'T have a "closet", even if not enclosed? The doorway shelf was very unique and interesting, very much a keeper. And unless that plant is silk, it will NOT survive BEHIND that table in the corner.
Did you lessen the property value by removing the closet? Is it still technically a bedroom in your state without a closet?
Removing the closet just makes it a room not a bedroom. But the transformation is lovely

I love built ins so tbh this made me a little sad. But I’ll be doing something similar eventually when I have to take down a wall with a built in shelf to expand a space that’s being converted into a second bathroom
if it is an Airbnb I think you should put in luggage stands or some sort of counter top for all our stuff. I love when I go to Ocean Casino and Resort, the rooms are bright and cozy, much like your room. ❤️it and the beautiful window treatment to filter daylight.

Looks bright and clean, just remember to put a closet back in if you sell as it hurts your value. Definitely works for an Airbnb.
Oh no, you can't list the room as a bedroom without a closet. The armoire dosen't count.

Love the 'door shelves'! What a clever way to use the space. The color gave the room personality and would have set off all the 'white' put in the room. Lesson learned!

Some minimalists might prefer a smaller armoire and more open floor space. Others are willing to sacrifice storage to have a larger bed. Comfort over stuff. It just depends on lifestyle. (Apparently not all states have the same codes.)

My only draw back is getting rid of closets, closets are valueable, there like bathtubs and windows they make a room valuable.

The room is cute but I'd have to move the mirror.
My grandma drilled it into my head since I was little that you never aim a mirror at a bed because there's things out there that will steal your soul while you're sleeping.
(She also never put out a welcome mat or anything that said Welcome & you NEVER put guests coat & hat on a bed. (Headlice & Bedbugs)
I had always heard you should never be able to see your reflection when you are sleeping, and never sleep with your feet in line with the door if you can avoid it. You have to invite evil in to home, so I see her point about the welcome mat, but I never would have thought about the practical point of the hat/lice. Where was your grandma from?
@@jocelynsmyth6604 Hi Jocelyn please pardon my ignorance but what do you mean by our feet should not be in line with our bedroom door? Would that mean that our feet should not be facing the door? Sorry my comprehension is slow. Our bedroom is not that big, so positioning our bed is really quite a challenge. Thanks.
@@Maria-uz9gg hi Maria, feet facing the door is considered 'the dead man's position' in some cultures, so the theory is that you should avoid it, to discourage spirits from confusing you with the dead. I've lived in a lot of small spaces too, where you just can't avoid it, but it made an impression on me when I was younger, and now I try to avoid it whenever I can

I would have kept the shelf and put a TV next to it with a pull out mount that can be adjusted so it doesn't have to sit in front of the shelf unless someone wants it centered and otherwise it can sit between the door and shelf

The bedroom should have at least some feng shui of either red pillows or some kind of pink, at least in the center of the bed throw pillows or some romantic color heart chakra root chakra. ❤❤ 🕯️ 🕯️
I like the color before on the walls. At least it was some kind of color. What a scavenger you are, i love the knob pulls, look and the color of the wicker cabinet. Wow what a find.

It does feel much bigger with the closets taken out and the door moved. Hopefully the rest of the house has lots of storage.

Like the room but definitely would not have covered the storage space, I would have stored things in it then put the wicker wardrobe in front of it….double storage.

The light blue was actually charming and just needed complimenting fixtures and furnitures. White is so bland. Good for pictures and brightening up, I guess.
And WHY close the closets?? They just needed better doors, one would have even been a cute study nook or even vanity nook.

Removing the closets makes it no longer a bedroom. Reducing resale value. But, your room color and decor look great!
If the room doesn't have a closet it is not a bedroom. So, you just changed how many bedrooms you have now.

Love most of the changes, however taking out closets amd replacing with as smaller wardrobe was a strange decision 🥺
How is it possible to clean underneath the bed with the rug? Dust , dead skin cells collects under the bed quickly.
