Set at the end of the Cambrian main line, Llangerisech is a mythical location, but with prototype elements of the region.
The layout is DCC controlled, contains 13 turnouts and has taken around 10 years to get to the current state. Scenery is fundamentally in place, and although some blending in work is still needed, it is essentially presentable. Detailing is an ongoing process.
The layout can potentially operate in 3 different eras:
1930s Great Western with original buildings and semaphore signals. (Not yet complete stock set)
1970s when the engine shed was replaced with a modern steel type. (possible from summer 2012)
Mid-2000s when Central Trains livery gave way to Arriva Trains Wales and the signalling gave way to RETB. (Available now)
Most of the stock for the later eras is converted ready to run, while the 1930s has required much more kit making and scratch building. Even the steam locos that started out as R-T-R have new chassis to enable reliable operation on 2mm Finescale track.
