I somehow thought that was Abundance blessing her of some sort, the trees blossoming up from a yellow crackling which came from her body fuild herself which is her tears, idk. Maybe she just didn’t realise it yet, that the key to not dying is within Abundance, maybe that’s why she hasnt died yet, maybe because she was blessed by Abundance? This is just pure speculation at this point but isnt it kinda coincidental. By the way, so her will power alone is so powerful that her tears blew up a planet simply because it landed on the ground? Tf 😂 there has to be some form of other power at play here, which like I said, either it got to do with Aeon of Abundance, or Aeon of Destruction, yellow glimmering cracks and all, trees and roots and all.

The "For her Majesty" moment never fails to make me cry. Firefly, who's reluctant to be a soldeir can't help but be moved by the sacrifice, the insanity of it, that the only thing her body can do to hold on to reality is recite the dogma that's been ingrained in her.
The most brutal part is that it's all a lie. There never was an Empire of Glamoth, and "her Majesty" never actually existed - it was just the ideology/narrative that all the Iron Cavalry got brainwashed with to control and motivate them.
THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING, although the vocal delivery of the line is offensively horrible in English. The Japanese dub for the short has that line paced in such a way that only intensifies all of what you just said.

@@draconiclegends2007 well firefly is a huge nerd for mecha, robots, and various tech. i think in lore she has a better understanding of her mech suit then even other clones like her. in her other trailer she made a point to make note of and call out the specific model name of a mech suit of another character, showing appreciation for it. there were several moments in game where something advanced tech related was involved, and firefly showed interest for a moment before trying to hide it early on in her quest. worth noting her complete combustion state armor looks a little different then normal, and share's similarities to the armor the guy who got sacrificed in the trailer to do the orbital lazer, as well as having some similarities to the specific model in the other trailer she really liked and made note of. firefly has also been shown to have extremely detailed observation skills and is detail oriented. combine that with the knowledge of tech and a lot of interest in mecha, its very likely she has a large amount of knowledge of the suits and even more advanced ones. and that's before even considering the fact that she wears one, and is forced to basically live in it and take care of it so should have some base knowledge.
the tree growing around firefly is probably a visual representation of her or her mech suit somehow absorbing on what energy is left on that dying planet. and although its a dying planet, the energy left is still strong enough to grant firefly the ability to erase a planet in a single blow

"Commencing...scorched earth operations!" Is actually a line firefly says in the S.A.M. mini boss fight when she's using her supernova attack, though back then nobody knew who S.A.M. was under the armor.
I think the tree is a visual representation of her. Coming to the conclusion of why she lives and the armour "upgrading" shows her resolve to fight for her life.
@@qwertyuiop8795 I've got to disagree. Planet busting is an insane feat, and I really doubt SW, Kafka or Blade could actually output that amount of raw power. Firefly's planet busting isn't even really clear on if that's literal, or metaphorical.
@@qwertyuiop8795 I'm pretty sure for the others their planet killing is in a less direct sense than blowing it up I can fully believe that Firefly would be able to, because she's the brute force Stellaron Hunter, she doesn't really have any other strategies or skills. fully blowing the planet up is really the only way I could see her being able to destroy a planet. but for Kafka and Silver Wolf I'd say that that particular claim is probably more about how their skillsets could collapse governments and start wars (these events would then be what destroy the planets). and for Blade it's probably just the fact that he's got the right mix of immortality and determination that he could just walk around killing everybody one by one until everyone on the planet is dead (that or he could be sent to set up some other thing (e.g. Firefly) to kill everyone only for himself to always survive).
@@aquaadmindoggo3958there are many ways to "destroy" a planet. Do you really doubt that a person who can edit Aether a.k.a changing reality to her will is unable to destroy a planet. Theoretically, she can amplify a planet's gravitational strength, making it implode under its own weight and turning into a singularity. Theoretically, she indirectly destroy a planet by adding and increasing the amount of iron in the core of the star that her target planet is orbiting. The star will prematurely die, destroying the star system in the process.

When it comes to fireflies animation... well... it was a swarm disaster that swept across the universe, that was honestly so horrible that every aeon wanted (from what i remember) aeon of propagation gone because he caused it due to being last of his own kind and simply not wanting to be alone.. also i remember there was a part of text somewhere where it said that kids born from humans etc would be born as insects instead and that image is terrifying to me.. (no wonder everyone wanted him gone to end the disaster)
Yeah, I mean, even Qlipoth, who mostly doesn't care about anything else other than constructing his wall, answered Ena's call to fight Tayzzyronth and clapped the living shite out of it in rage. To be fair though, I smell the propagation and Tayzzyronth coming back in full force, since it was "just" sealed, not completely annihilated.
Honestly Firefly made the right call to destroy the whole planet, even after the Scorched Earth tactic you never know if anything else survived like she did. If there is even one bug left alive then all of that death and sacrifice is for nothing. The cosmology of H:SR is horrifying and i've gotta say i love it for that
@@its_renren7292 in the scene when Firefly took off, those dots in the sky are more of the swarm, they only managed to kill one of the swarm mothers that was on the planet after all that sacrifice, and the swarm mother was not even an Emanator
I’m pretty sure that that was actually a dream sequence, and the planet was in fact cracked by the orbital strike. And Complete Combustion state itself is most likely actually the power of Propagation, or more accurately, Permanence. Firefly was one of the last Iron Cavalry to die, and that should have mimicked the situation that Tazzyronth was in when THEY rose to Aeonhood. So it might be her status as an Endling that lets her tap into the armor’s full potential. Although my personal headcanon is simply that the Conservation of Ninjutsu is an actual thing enforced by HooH.
14:07 on the other hand, those sunglasses resemble the jumping spider's eyes (and maybe some other spider species like wolf spider), with her bangs looking like chelicerae
For Firefly's trailer, as far as I know we don't actually know what the tree was about and she's never demonstrated the kind of power she'd had at the end there. That said, the green fire isn't actually part of the suit at the very least. Another character mentions in her "Keeping Up with Star Rail" that its a special power born of Firefly's own will. I doubt that any of the others could have used it without first going through what Firefly had. Firefly is also noted in another video to be special in that some members of the Iron Cavalry of Glamoth were trying to show some level of individuality. Firefly did so by growing her hair out, which was mentioned by another character to be an indicator of her experience. The implication there being that most of them don't live long enough to grow their hair as long as she does, making her one of the older ones.
God that's tragic. Somehow really just stopping to think about how her being ABLE to have longer hair shows just how much she's been through really just cements the weight of her experience.
The tree thing is definitely metaphorical. It's symbolizing some funky meta-physics about awakening to such and such deep philosophy. And also, she lost basically everything, and that everything concentrated on her as the last remaining part of the collective whole. So the explosive power came from those two. Philosophical Awakening and being a last member of the funky soldier group. The scene where the other girl kneel before Firefly saying "For Her Majesty" symbolizing that she is the new "queen" being the only one left. And she will carry the mark of everyone.
i love the CN voice acting on sparkle’s PV, probably since the PVs are made to follow CN speaking rules since the way she says 「我，就是欢愉！哈哈哈哈哈！」 is easier to elongate than saying ELATIOOOOOON, also the CN laugh was crazy But yeah as someone who lived in China for almost half my life I have seen a gun only ONCE in my entire life

Best video reaction I've seen to Firefly's animated short. Displaying an impressive knowledge of animation. This is my favorite thing from HSR videos, maybe only matched by Rondo across Countless Kalpas, but Firefly's definitely tells a more compelling story.
6:44 this beginning part always gives me chills. That sound of the comms being full of chatter from other allies and the firefight happing in the background, scares me now as a new soldier hoping a war doesn’t happen

A barren land, a scorched earth where nothing should be able to grow anymore... And yet, through sheer force of will, she stands and presses on, like a sprout through savaged soil, dry, lacking in nutrients, but she defies the circumstances to bloom, to thrive, and to rebuff a world that expects her to die before ever getting the chance to live. It is powerful imagery for her story.
I greatly enjoy watching you break down these animations for HSR's trailers. I would like to request a specific one, Huohuo's Myriad Celestia trailer. It is done completely in 2d and has a lot of comedy to it.

After you've broken Down Tsukishiro Yanagi's Trailers, you should definitely watch the Trailer for Firefly as it explains her History a bit more and even shows her Bounty from the IPC. Another animation that you should definitely look at is the All Time Iconic and Infamous "Rhondo across Countless Kalpas" and just watch Acheron and Black Swan Dance. Some of Robin's Trailers and Animations wouldn't come amiss as well, knowing that Mina Aoyama might somehow be watching your Videos as well. I didn't ever misread that transition in Sparkle's trailer, but I think the different masks and expressions were simply registering more for me than lines of motion; despite this being a monodrama there are multiple roles being played with clear differences between them. (In fact, a lot of the "background characters" appear to be Sparkle mocking a lot of the major cast.) You also pointed out something which in retrospect was a clue I was unsure about: that Sparkle is carrying out a number of apparently very reckless actions in fact being performed with meticulous care. A side effect of how much Sparkle improvises is the result hides the shape of any underlying plans. Oh, one interesting note: at the same time as the developers were making the Sparkle trailers they happened to need some high-quality renders of liquids (for a future minigame involving mixing drinks at a bar). This probably had a lot to do with the precise opening shot. And I'm reasonably sure that despite Kafka's sunglasses being clearly there for the spider motif, they have a collapsible bridge (you see something similar done to make collapsible scissors) and would cover her eyes if extended. You almost never see that design in the real world because it's useless for prescription lenses (which depend on their exact position relative to your organic lenses) and even designer sunglasses are actually manufactured as cheaply as possible, but it does work and could turn up as fashion in a setting like this one.
Fun fact about Kafka's glasses: They're not meant to be functional because they are meant to be akin to the extra eyes of a spider. She has a lot of spider symbolism in her outfit, such as her loose coat sleeves being like an extra pair of limbs in silhouette, or the spider motif on the back of her coat.
Ngl, I never realized the mechs was 3d, you can really see it when you pause, almost obviously 3d even. But I never paused it midway, and I watched it a BUNCH
Few things; 1. I think the reason none of the other fyreflies achieved the Complete Combustion state is the fact that Firefly was one of the few in the Iron Cavalry to develop a personality and free will (shown in her MC trailer, which I'll get to shortly). It's implied that, upon losing the rest of her unit and developing a strong will to live, she managed to bring out the full power of the SAM armor. Which is obviously intended as dramatic irony -- Glamoth stripping the fyreflies of their will and individuality prevented them from accessing a weapon that could have probably won them the war. 2. Kafka is wearing a sunglasses variant of pince-nez -- the tiny glasses worn on the bridge of the nose (think Teddy Roosevelt). They totally would not work as sunglasses -- they're just a fashion statement. They likely added those because, in Chinese historical context, pince-nez are used to indicate learnedness or medical knowledge, but, expanding from that, they also can also used to indicate authority, quirkiness, and manipulativeness. Songque also wears a pair in HI3 (though she is faking having authority). 3. The story beats are better foreshadowed in "Presently, Beneath a Shared Sky of Stars", Firefly's Myriad Celestia trailer (including the face of the young boy who sacrifices himself). This should be considered a sequel to it, so the missing context is less in-game and more just the fact nobody would ask you to react to a Myriad Celestia trailer, since they don't have much animation. Though it doesn't foreshadow any planet-busting, so that's definitely out of left field without the game.
Now i am waiting for archeron trailer lol, there are three of them and two of them Rondo across countless kalpas and Kyoden, a cleave across the transient worlds both were my favorite despite feeling having entirely different animation styles
Aside from the firefly armor being a manifestation of her own will, you can also clearly see that before all the others like her died, she was still part of the hive mind, as she was muttering the same words as all the others. One can almost say that she wasn’t special to begin with; her own will was only able to come to life after all the others have died, making her the “queen” of an empty hive, the “her majesty” herself, which was just a made-up concept used to control the firefly army. The salute and death of the other last survivor is so beautifully dramatic!!! I love it so much!

Bit of trivia for the sparkle trailer: The general video is VERY much based off of LeaFs "MARENOL" video- viewer discretion is kinda advised with that one tho lol ALSO and this is a minute, almost irrelevant detail, but I haven't seen ANYONE else talk about it so I might be going insane, but isn't the 4:40 shot of her on the mask like that also a reference to Chainsaw Man Ending 5, specifically around 0:26?
if you ask what Firefly fought in war, its basically a beetle that capable to clone itself with short time and destroy universe if 3 Aeon not cooperate with each other to kill it. good thing is the Aeon that represent this bug already die, but its offspring Aka the bug still alive.
Well, Tayzzyronth isn't really dead. It is sealed in multiple amber pieces scattered about in the universe. So the propagation can still come back in full force one day, perhaps.
It took MORE than 3 aeons to defeat it. Qlipoth(I'm korean so I don't know their english name), Akivilli, Aha, Ena, Hooh, Xipe, the snake one(uruboros?), and possibly more had to work together(read: Qlipoth probably could have killed it on their own) to get rid of Tayzzyronth

Personally i believe she is an emenator and this was the moment she was gazed upon. The possibilities are abundance or beauty. Abundance because of all of the green imagery and obviously the tree but I also believe it could be the beauty as it’s stated that the beauty was only around for a short time in comparison to other aeons which has to do with beauty being something that eventually fades. Firefly is also cursed with a shorter lifetime which is why I think the beauty gave her the powers of an emenator. So that no matter what, no matter how short her life is, she has the power to shape it into the most beautiful life she can. Also emenators are said to be able to shatter stars and she literally destroyed a planet so I feel like it’s obvious she’s an emenator or on that level

I think the idea for Sparkle’s climactic moment is supposed to represent her descending fully into madness, which would justify the backward angle, but maybe I’m reading too much into it
I'd love it if you reacted to Boothill's trailer. Sparkle's trailer is my favorite out of all the trailers, but Boothill's is just as good in my opinion.

and for Blade it's probably just the fact that he's got the right mix of immortality and determination that he could just walk around killing everybody one by one until everyone on the planet is dead (that or he could be sent to set up some other thing (e.g. Firefly) to kill everyone only for himself to always survive).

Theoretically, she can amplify a planet's gravitational strength, making it implode under its own weight and turning into a singularity. Theoretically, she indirectly destroy a planet by adding and increasing the amount of iron in the core of the star that her target planet is orbiting. The star will prematurely die, destroying the star system in the process.

When it comes to fireflies animation... well... it was a swarm disaster that swept across the universe, that was honestly so horrible that every aeon wanted (from what i remember) aeon of propagation gone because he caused it due to being last of his own kind and simply not wanting to be alone.. also i remember there was a part of text somewhere where it said that kids born from humans etc would be born as insects instead and that image is terrifying to me.. (no wonder everyone wanted him gone to end the disaster)
Yeah, I mean, even Qlipoth, who mostly doesn't care about anything else other than constructing his wall, answered Ena's call to fight Tayzzyronth and clapped the living shite out of it in rage. To be fair though, I smell the propagation and Tayzzyronth coming back in full force, since it was "just" sealed, not completely annihilated.
Honestly Firefly made the right call to destroy the whole planet, even after the Scorched Earth tactic you never know if anything else survived like she did. If there is even one bug left alive then all of that death and sacrifice is for nothing. The cosmology of H:SR is horrifying and i've gotta say i love it for that

I’m pretty sure that that was actually a dream sequence, and the planet was in fact cracked by the orbital strike.
And Complete Combustion state itself is most likely actually the power of Propagation, or more accurately, Permanence. Firefly was one of the last Iron Cavalry to die, and that should have mimicked the situation that Tazzyronth was in when THEY rose to Aeonhood. So it might be her status as an Endling that lets her tap into the armor’s full potential.
Although my personal headcanon is simply that the Conservation of Ninjutsu is an actual thing enforced by HooH.

For Firefly's trailer, as far as I know we don't actually know what the tree was about and she's never demonstrated the kind of power she'd had at the end there. That said, the green fire isn't actually part of the suit at the very least. Another character mentions in her "Keeping Up with Star Rail" that its a special power born of Firefly's own will. I doubt that any of the others could have used it without first going through what Firefly had. Firefly is also noted in another video to be special in that some members of the Iron Cavalry of Glamoth were trying to show some level of individuality. Firefly did so by growing her hair out, which was mentioned by another character to be an indicator of her experience. The implication there being that most of them don't live long enough to grow their hair as long as she does, making her one of the older ones.
God that's tragic.
Somehow really just stopping to think about how her being ABLE to have longer hair shows just how much she's been through really just cements the weight of her experience.

The tree thing is definitely metaphorical. It's symbolizing some funky meta-physics about awakening to such and such deep philosophy.
And also, she lost basically everything, and that everything concentrated on her as the last remaining part of the collective whole.
So the explosive power came from those two. Philosophical Awakening and being a last member of the funky soldier group.
The scene where the other girl kneel before Firefly saying "For Her Majesty" symbolizing that she is the new "queen" being the only one left. And she will carry the mark of everyone.
I never caught the part where that soldier said that before passing away makes a lot more sense now that I think about it

Best video reaction I've seen to Firefly's animated short. Displaying an impressive knowledge of animation. This is my favorite thing from HSR videos, maybe only matched by Rondo across Countless Kalpas, but Firefly's definitely tells a more compelling story.

And yet, through sheer force of will, she stands and presses on, like a sprout through savaged soil, dry, lacking in nutrients, but she defies the circumstances to bloom, to thrive, and to rebuff a world that expects her to die before ever getting the chance to live.
It is powerful imagery for her story.

Loved the video @professorGoo! Can't wait for the next video man! After you've broken Down Tsukishiro Yanagi's Trailers, you should definitely watch the Trailer for Firefly as it explains her History a bit more and even shows her Bounty from the IPC.
Another animation that you should definitely look at is the All Time Iconic and Infamous "Rhondo across Countless Kalpas" and just watch Acheron and Black Swan Dance.
Some of Robin's Trailers and Animations wouldn't come amiss as well, knowing that Mina Aoyama might somehow be watching your Videos as well.

I love it, that he started off with sparkle. Its my apsolute favourite trailer
I didn't ever misread that transition in Sparkle's trailer, but I think the different masks and expressions were simply registering more for me than lines of motion; despite this being a monodrama there are multiple roles being played with clear differences between them. (In fact, a lot of the "background characters" appear to be Sparkle mocking a lot of the major cast.) You also pointed out something which in retrospect was a clue I was unsure about: that Sparkle is carrying out a number of apparently very reckless actions in fact being performed with meticulous care. A side effect of how much Sparkle improvises is the result hides the shape of any underlying plans.
Oh, one interesting note: at the same time as the developers were making the Sparkle trailers they happened to need some high-quality renders of liquids (for a future minigame involving mixing drinks at a bar). This probably had a lot to do with the precise opening shot.
And I'm reasonably sure that despite Kafka's sunglasses being clearly there for the spider motif, they have a collapsible bridge (you see something similar done to make collapsible scissors) and would cover her eyes if extended. You almost never see that design in the real world because it's useless for prescription lenses (which depend on their exact position relative to your organic lenses) and even designer sunglasses are actually manufactured as cheaply as possible, but it does work and could turn up as fashion in a setting like this one.
Fun fact about Kafka's glasses: They're not meant to be functional because they are meant to be akin to the extra eyes of a spider. She has a lot of spider symbolism in her outfit, such as her loose coat sleeves being like an extra pair of limbs in silhouette, or the spider motif on the back of her coat.

Ngl, I never realized the mechs was 3d, you can really see it when you pause, almost obviously 3d even. But I never paused it midway, and I watched it a BUNCH
Few things;
1. I think the reason none of the other fyreflies achieved the Complete Combustion state is the fact that Firefly was one of the few in the Iron Cavalry to develop a personality and free will (shown in her MC trailer, which I'll get to shortly). It's implied that, upon losing the rest of her unit and developing a strong will to live, she managed to bring out the full power of the SAM armor. Which is obviously intended as dramatic irony -- Glamoth stripping the fyreflies of their will and individuality prevented them from accessing a weapon that could have probably won them the war.
2. Kafka is wearing a sunglasses variant of pince-nez -- the tiny glasses worn on the bridge of the nose (think Teddy Roosevelt). They totally would not work as sunglasses -- they're just a fashion statement. They likely added those because, in Chinese historical context, pince-nez are used to indicate learnedness or medical knowledge, but, expanding from that, they also can also used to indicate authority, quirkiness, and manipulativeness. Songque also wears a pair in HI3 (though she is faking having authority).
3. The story beats are better foreshadowed in "Presently, Beneath a Shared Sky of Stars", Firefly's Myriad Celestia trailer (including the face of the young boy who sacrifices himself). This should be considered a sequel to it, so the missing context is less in-game and more just the fact nobody would ask you to react to a Myriad Celestia trailer, since they don't have much animation. Though it doesn't foreshadow any planet-busting, so that's definitely out of left field without the game.

both were my favorite despite feeling having entirely different animation styles
Aside from the firefly armor being a manifestation of her own will, you can also clearly see that before all the others like her died, she was still part of the hive mind, as she was muttering the same words as all the others. One can almost say that she wasn’t special to begin with; her own will was only able to come to life after all the others have died, making her the “queen” of an empty hive, the “her majesty” herself, which was just a made-up concept used to control the firefly army. The salute and death of the other last survivor is so beautifully dramatic!!! I love it so much!

if you ask what Firefly fought in war, its basically a beetle that capable to clone itself with short time and destroy universe if 3 Aeon not cooperate with each other to kill it. good thing is the Aeon that represent this bug already die, but its offspring Aka the bug still alive.
Well, Tayzzyronth isn't really dead. It is sealed in multiple amber pieces scattered about in the universe. So the propagation can still come back in full force one day, perhaps.
They aren't even fighting the peak swarm, just the remnants since their planet is already long gone during the height of the disaster
It took MORE than 3 aeons to defeat it. Qlipoth(I'm korean so I don't know their english name), Akivilli, Aha, Ena, Hooh, Xipe, the snake one(uruboros?), and possibly more had to work together(read: Qlipoth probably could have killed it on their own) to get rid of Tayzzyronth

13:32 in terms of cannon there’s not really anything that says it’s apart of the suits. Instead it’s firefly herself and her personal will that allowed her to enter this state. Personally i believe she is an emenator and this was the moment she was gazed upon. The possibilities are abundance or beauty. Abundance because of all of the green imagery and obviously the tree but I also believe it could be the beauty as it’s stated that the beauty was only around for a short time in comparison to other aeons which has to do with beauty being something that eventually fades. Firefly is also cursed with a shorter lifetime which is why I think the beauty gave her the powers of an emenator. So that no matter what, no matter how short her life is, she has the power to shape it into the most beautiful life she can. Also emenators are said to be able to shatter stars and she literally destroyed a planet so I feel like it’s obvious she’s an emenator or on that level

I think it's more like a last-ditch effort, when all is lost and when they deem a planet lost to the enemy's hand, they basically go "If we don't have this planet, no one will".
