Dr Ratio is such an enigma, he's just as cocky and arrogant as his trailer makes him up to be, but every single scene with him fits so fckin' well into the story that i cant bring myself not to love him as a character

Seeing the trailers evolve from the March, Himeko, Yaqing and Seele trailers to the Boothill, Sparkle, Firefly and Acheron trailers is just such an insane amount of whiplash in production quality.

You REALLY REALLY REALLY need to do Star Rail's animated shorts as well. They're so beautifully animated, by the MihoyoAnime team who does the best animations for Honkai Impact 3rd. I think there's a Jing Yuan one "The Flash", a Dan Heng one "Ichor of two dragons", an Acheron one "Rondo Across Countless Kalpas" a Firefly one "The Emders of Glamoth", and a new one for Feixiao "Taking it easy" they are 100% worth it and needed.

the game jingyuan was playing with Yanqing is called "Chinese Chess" or "Xiang Qi" literally translating to "Elephant Chess", kinda similar yet different to chess, with different roles and tactics..
then towards the end, the Yunli trailer, Gui and Sushang was doing a circus act, or kinda a martial demonstration, "Breaking a Stone slab on chest", which involves 1 party lying on platform of sorts with a stone slab on them, while the other uses a hammer to smash the slab. then the act ends with the party lying down getting up like no damage was done - it is demonstrating their martial "prowess" where they are unharmed even after such a blow, showing off their iron defense kinda thing...
The board's right, at least, and while I don't recognize the pieces they're in positions which could be a late-game position; I would say Yanqing has the advantage except whichever the pieces are he's definitely not using his general correctly as part of the process of forcing a mate. (I think ZZZ probably did it better by just hiding the pieces and not tempting overanalysis.)
The way he clocked Acheron on being on the edge of the abyss is insane btw
The reason why Feixiao's demo is in Japanese is because the VA's agency is currently on strike for greenlighting the use of AI to replicate the VA's voices without permission. This is also why the most recent Genshin's trailer is also in Japanese.

@@XSoul93 It's also why Kinich's demo is in JP, Genshin and HSR have different VA studios so the only reason why both games are affected would've been because of the Sag Aftra strike (which u can watch an explanation from Joe Zieja)
@@XSoul93 the people complaining about blackwashing is such a minor part of the community that it doesn't even count. The EN side of Hoyo is a much smaller part of their community, Japanese and Chinese players are majority and they don't give a damn.
I'd like to point out that while the VA's are currently on strike, Alejandro Saab (Vtuber Cyyu & VA for Cyno, General Jing Yuan, and Anton) has pointed out in a livestream that both HSR and ZZZ are not part of the on going strike, and only Genshin is affected.
From my information, this is because the dubbing agency behind Genshin, "Formosa" is currently on strike for being Union and not giving protection against AI replicating their workers' voices, while the agencies for both ZZZ and HSR are done by other unaffected agencies.

I wouldn't say that Ratio is arrogant. He believes that everyone should have access to education and thus has made it his mission to be an educator. he actually considers himself mundane, a "mundanite" and just thinks that he is educated, not a natural genius.
he does have a bit of a stern and offputting personality, but I actually find it charming that he has such an open heart about education while being personally unapproachable.
oftentimes i feel a bit bad since he seems to long for nous' gaze but i recall nous has never once glanced upon him?
He wanted that when he was a teenager.
But later on he realized that it wasn't worth it and that humanity and what simple normal people could do is way more meaningful and important; it's in part why he believes everyone deserves education and we shouldn't idolize geniuses.
That's also why his SU version doesn't have Aeons either, unlike Herta's

If you wanna understand the characters, you have to watch the myriad celestia trailers. They dive into their character more and lore about them too.
In Jiaqiou’s trailer it’s heavily suggested that he’s hunting the things he cooks or at least takes inspiration for his meal preparation

Just to clarify, Ratio actually has a lot of depth to his character, which is one of the reasons I absolutely love him LOL
He's extremely well-educated and smart, which is ironic because he finds himself to be "mundane", and he also wants to cure this "disease" he calls "idiocy." In order to do that, he's taken up work as a professor, and he's very serious about getting people proper education and helping them realize that not all "geniuses" are actually geniuses. He even finds them to be overbearing because of a group that notoriously named itself the Genius Society.
It's actually kind of endearing in a way because it shows he cares a lot about your average person and wants them to basically be on the same footing as these self-proclaimed "geniuses." He's also not seemingly arrogant for no reason--he has a lot of bite to back up his bark, being an extremely accomplished scholar and doctor--even saving an entire civilization through a cure he created for a disease that was running rampant on their planet. .....Also he has like.. an insane amount of PhDs.
And a couple of fun facts: He wears the mask around people he considers idiots, and he also likes to wear it while teaching because he's so handsome that people were literally having a hard time focusing in class... He's also literally grabbed someone and thrown them out of the classroom for trying to bribe him. LMAO but yeah overall a really fun character :D
Edit: ALSO 100% agree about Firefly, I love her so much (by far my favorite of the female cast) and you should definitely check out her animated cinematic "The Embers of Glamoth"! That video always makes me so emotional and the animation is insanely good.

Remaking some of these would be such a good idea! I mean a lot of us don't know the amount of work that goes into making these animations, and it'd be really cool to see your take on them. For March 7th, she doesn't remember anything about her past, and was discovered in the ice thing you see. The ice broke and she came back to life on March 7th, and she chose that date as her name since she doesn't remember it
That's also why she loves so much taking pictures: she is afraid of not remembering
Argenti is a guy who is goofy and loves beauty, but by beauty, it seems that those he considers living. In story he talks to a plant, calling it beautiful. Those bugs are among those he does not see as beautiful because they essentially propagate and devour and destroy everything else. Goofy man just loves things that live their lives and wishes to protect it all in the name of the Beauty Idrilla.
The chess they're playing at 16:50 is called Xiangqi, also known as chinese chess~

That is the most accurate description of Acheron I've seen from someone who knows nothing about her. You look at her and there's just 'nothing but death'. That's exactly what Black Swan gathered when she looked into her past.
1:14:27 The brown haired girl is called Sushang and she aspires to be a strong warrior, she is a pretty fun character in tn-game and her ultimate is funny af, she was so meme back then. Her Honkai Impact counterpart is pretty badass, elegant and powerful totally the opposite to the funny and clumsy Hsr counterpart.
The orange haired girl is Guinaifen and she is a street performer and both Guinaifen and Sushang are besties. They are honestly a fun duo alongside with Huohuo.
Fun Fact: When you put 2 compatible characters in the same team they are going to have special dialogues. For example, if you put Guinaifen and Yanqing (the guy from 7:23) she says:
*"Hey little guy, wanna see some sword swallowing?"*
Her ultimate was also meme to hell on social media... honestly I can't look at her ultimate as before...

Ruan Mei is my fav character, she is a member of the genius society and constantly creates new lifeforms that’s why the dna strands are there, I do recommend reacting to the myriad celestia trailers, they do a much better job of showcasing the story of certain characters (and the art is also amazing lol)

Not gonna lie. I initially thought that Ruan Mei was the most boring character in hsr after playing through quest and watching her trailer. I'm not a fan of her design, and her personality seemed nonexistent.
But then I watched myriad celestia trailer of hers. It does way more justice to her than the other two combined. But yeah, design, I still don't get

That's a kind of Chinese street performance thing. A performer lays under a big piece of stone, and another guy will break the stone with a hammer.
The trick the huge mass of the stone, so the force of the hammer only cause a small acceleration to the stone due to F=ma. Also, the contact area between the stone and the performer is large, so it turns out that the performer won't experience a huge pressure when the stone breaks. I searched this theory on the internet, I don't know if it really works in real life, and I've only seen this performance on TV before. I'm not a scientist so don't blame me if I'm wrong. 16:55 i don't know if anyone answered yet but that game is chess, Chinese chess. maybe because I learnt Chinese chess before learning the western chess, I personally feel Chinese chess is more simpler and easy to understand. I'm currently way more proficient in Chinese chess than western chess but I'd say it's because I play with some Chinese uncles at the park sometimes during weekend mornings.
