    Thank you for showing not just the bags, but how you attach them to your motorcycle. This is the most important part!

    • @tomboyabit

      That’s what I thought. Pointless to show the bags if you don’t see how the look on the bike, how much space they take, how long it takes to attach and take them off. And most important know how it is like to ride thousands miles with them.

    I remember those days that I packed many bags, then had to figure out where to attach, hang, or stuff onto my bike. Now I ride a 2019 Harley Tri-Glide Ultra. Those days are a worry of the past...now I have more then enough space to pack & store all my gear! 👊

    I like those bags for around town trips. Or if I am going to point A to point B and know that I won't me stopping much. But for international travel those bags have a huge problem, lack of security. Like you said, "clip, clip, clip" and your bags are off. Someone can steal your bags that fast. Like at a rest area where you might stop to use the restroom, or a restaurant when you stop to get something to eat. You must be able to keep an eye on the bike and never be far from it.
    When I travel I often find myself stopping and exploring around. Like at a museum, a short hike, quick swim at a like or ocean, etc. I can't do that with those bags and not be worry sick that someone is going to walk away with my things. So for my international travel hard panniers that lock is the way to go.
    Also, I think that those bags are good enough quality to work great on road trips. You have a cruiser so I doubt that you go to the type of places I go on my Yamaha Ténéré 700. When you are in a third world country and you must leave the pavement and hit the gravel roads, which sometimes can get a bit rough, I wonder how good those bags would hold up to that abuse?
    In my next trip I'll be crossing all of America. Starting in the US and heading south through Mexico Central, and all the way to the most southern tip of America in Argentina, then back. That is 34,000-36,000 miles round trip. Then up through the US and up the Dalton highway to Dead Horse, to the most northern tip of the continent.that is another 7, 700 miles one way. I don't know if those bags could take that type of abuse. The last thing I need in a trip is to worry about my bags falling apart in the middle of no where.

    I put canvas and leather saddlebags from Longride in France or Belgium (great people, shipped very fast to US). Great little mounting system, I got two 7l bags, but they have a 16l or 17l and they have a waterproof liner available. I put them on my ‘21 Scout and love the look. Plus they are easily removable.

    The Kriega drypack is great
    However, the Kriega backpack is way too bulky and heavy by itself, let alone getting all ur stuff in there, very uncomfortable on long roadtrips

  • @gg48gg
    @gg48gg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you for the video my understanding is that straps are designed to be pulled in a straight line and I think crossing them will have less strength and will fatigue the stitching prematurely.
    Also, can you tighten the frame straps all the way to the frame, or are the bag straps too short to reach? If so maybe you could loop 2 frame straps together and put them under your seat just sticking out slightly so you don't have to attach the frame straps every time. They can be semi permanent. It is shown like that in the kriega instructions also.
    Finally, the Kriega bags are expensive but worth it. Have you found a cheaper place to buy them?
    Thank you. Happy and safe riding.

    • @tomboyabit
      @tomboyabit  2 ปีที่แล้ว
