    I was there at Multnomah Falls in Oregon with my brother in September of last year and they weren't doing timed entry tickets, we walked all the way to the top of the falls, there was no payment for entry into the Multnomah Falls area

      @CattailChronicles  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is only during certain hours and days of the year. September must have been so pretty there :)

    So it is possible to arrive before 9am without a timed entry ticket, right? Like 8am and you're able to drive in?

    We are locals and we are not allowed to go without a permit when we have done this all of our life. We used to be able to go anytime we wanted even the spur moment. At this point we don't ever want to go there again very depressing. We always used to make it even when there was heavy traffic Evie traffic. It's always been heavy traffic and never stopped any of us. They have taken our enjoyment away If the problem was only traffic why do they have to charge Because money hungry. They stop us from going the best time of the year the year. They are more interested in tourist as tourists spend more money. How much money are they making with millions of people going there to mostly all tourists It's not only $2 to them it's millions.

    • @CattailChronicles

      I lived there 40 years and remember the quieter days too. However $2 is a small price to pay to preserve this treasure more and more people are discovering. It is lovely in the off season too, covered in ice is magical.

      @@CattailChronicles Yes $2 is a small price for us . For them government it is a fortune it can turn into millions. Just another government trick. People need to wake up..

    It's unacceptable I know many locals that do not accept that policy.

    • @CattailChronicles
      @CattailChronicles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Locals often don't. I was local there for decades. But the number of visitors is staggering and would destroy this place. As a local you can enjoy it lots in the other 3 seasons too which are stunning.

    Were going in the middle of July, Do we have to get 2 tickets to the waterfall corridor and multnomah falls? If we go there early in the morning @9am-10am to the waterfall corridor is it possible that we can park our car going to the multnomah falls? Or it is better to go directly to exit 31 to multnomah falls?

    • @CattailChronicles
      @CattailChronicles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you go early you should be able to do everything with the Cooridor pass.

    This year Shenandoah National Park decided to issue day tickets to Old Rag Mountain as it was getting too many people on those trails and causing some damage. I know they said it was a test for this year but I'm sure they will make it permanent. Seems like all the National Parks are doing this type of thing. Thank you for sharing this and showing us the falls!!!

    • @CattailChronicles
      @CattailChronicles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good to know, thanks. I bet it will be permanent in some form too. I do think it's helping the impact.

    • @pattymattes7124
      @pattymattes7124 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CattailChronicles I hope so. Shenandoah National Park has signs up saying not to swim in the waterfall areas but people ignore that. Some have had serious injury from what I've been told. I imagine if it gets bad in other places they will probably require tickets there too. It's a shame when people don't follow the rules. They ruin for everyone including themselves.
