Hi Ashley, another top video with a great variety of wildlife 👍🏽 great stuff Mate and the Sand Martin flight shots were great, any Martin, Swift, or Swallow shots are hard to get I think. See you on the next one 📸
A cracking walk, and a big of variety of subjects along the way. I especially liked the bat footage, well spotted on that one. And that final parting image of that sand martin in flight, just wow! Well done Ash, and thanks for sharing your adventure with us. Take care of that knee for a couple more weeks, along with yourself buddy! 👍👏👏😊
Cheers Russ glad you enjoyed this one, yeh nice to be out and about in the wild so to speak, yeh that bat was a spot of good luck lol, and had fun photographing the sand Martins that's for sure, cheers for the comment, stay safe 👍
Brilliant video Ashley. What a beautiful area to walk and so much wildlife to see there. And of course the lambs were just gorgeous! Long may the weather stay dry for you!
Another great video Ashley, Had to laugh though when you got to the point about your dodgy knees and then went onto review the monopod where you said you could adapt it into a walking stick at which point you said you wouldn`t be using this feature .LOL . Great Sand Martin photos and very lucky to spot the Bat.
Yeh i was just walking across a field and saw this thing flying around, I thought to myself that's flying around a bit strange then I got a better look and saw it was a bat, I watched where it landed and got a quick photo and video. 😀
Great video again thank you 😊 They were Sand martin's, they use banks up and down the rivers great to see. I did hear in the background at about 4.30 a king fisher I'm pretty sure that distinctive squeaking call. So keep an eye out for them if you ever go back.
Great video, I love just going for a wander and see what I find. I use a manfrotto xpro550 monopod, it has a manfrotto fluid head on it and it also has a foot attachment that helps a lot with stability. I find it much better when wandering than a tripod as it gets me on a shot much quicker.
I don't use my monopod very often, however I recently bought a Smallrig fluid head for it. Got to say, the fluid head made a huge difference to the functionality of the monopod. Rather than trying to tilt the monopod backwards to capture something above me, I could slowly tilt the camera up with the fluid head. Panning is a dream, as well. The Smallrig is surprisingly good for its tiny size. Its not as good as my Mafdrotto head, which is the same as yours but its very close and a fraction of the weight. You are welcome to try it out to see what you think. I lent it to Stephen when he went to the USA chasing the sun as it hid behind the moon. Just a thought.😀
you are so right as nowhere to park just travel through the dales only carpark full of holes was felt no welcome had my reg take picture took was made to feel not welcome can't be the only one no campers nothing i was in a car would never go back no wonder they all come to scotland for freedom
yeh thanks, thought about that, but I was reviewing the monopod, if I put ball head or such like on it, then I might as well just use any stick, as it would be the ball head doing the work. I will give it a try and see how I get on thought thanks. 👍

Cheers Lee, yeh nice to get out and have a wild walk, you never know what you are going to see, and had fun photographing the sand martins 👍
Yeah, definitely Sand Martin. I can and have watched them for hours.
Great video. It's never time wasted when you're out and surrounded by nature.

Thanks for the great comment. 😀👍
Great morning, Sir! That monopod would be good for sports photography. Thanks for sharing your morning with me! Have a wonderful weekend!
Cheers Jon yeh, i have to say for stability my tripod is king. 👍
Those 3 hours spent capturing the dipper was time well spent - great results 👍
Absolutely gorgeous videos...as for the monopod, it will at best serve as a walking stick....not suitable for videos and neither for Stills!
Great video and nice to see the bat and the flight shot of the sand martin at the end

Nice video… I have a Manfrotto monopod and it takes two seconds to put my camera on or to take it off.
Good morning sir, they are sandmartins
Interesting story and good filming, but maybe use a microphone with wind protection.
Just put a Arca Swiss clamp or monopod tilt head onto your monopod, makes for easy on off of the camera…

How about an Acra Swiss adapter set for camera and monopod.
They could be sand martins
