    I recently took delivery on my Lyriq Luxury 3 AWD.
    I originally ordered a Sport 3. It was built in September. I have the VIN number. It NEVER SHOWED UP.
    I ended up getting tired of waiting so I took the Lux 3 the dealer built.
    Power Moonroof
    19KW charger
    Argent Silver
    Light Grey interior
    Cadillac floor liners
    Supercruise.
    22" wheels
    #1 The rearview mirror is a bit jarring. It feels like the car behind me is IMMEDIATELY behind me. I'm driving lately with it turned off.
    #2 Glove Box - The one benefit to a glove box with a digital access is that they could potentially be Password locked. Would be really nice in CARRY states.
    #5 Door Handles - Your car is the initial run with the press button. My car has the actual pull handles and they are LED lighted. I love that feature!
    #6 2 years free charging - I choose the 2 years of EV go. But I have a home charger LECTRON V-Box. I may/may never use my free charging. I'll keep the card in my car till then.
    INTERIOR - the car looks like a spaceship. Probably the best EV design currently as the Mercedes EQE/EQS look like jelly beans. The interior I have is "light grey" which is basically "off white". It makes the interior look GORGEOUS. Like driving an S-class Mercedes.
    The one thing that bothers me is that the seat track would be perfect if it was just 1 inch rearwards. I'm very tall.
    There are a number of points I doubt you noticed:
    a) The turning stalk is a bit soft. It's very easy not to notice if the turning signal is on.
    b) The Supercruise can't reset the turning stalk after a successful lane change.
    c) The only USBC port that is recognized by the computer is in the footwell. Therefore your iPhone cable or USB stick will jut out. I'd prefer a recognized port in the armrest.
    d) The music indexing system is HORRIBLE. I have my music in a usb thumb drive arranged in folders: Rap, Rock, Soundtrack, Latin, Reggae, etc.
    The Lyriq DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE FOLDERS. I've had to play through my music track by track.
    WORSE: the Lyriq only lets you scroll through 1 page at a time whilst driving. This is without a doubt the worst indexing I've seen - actually - because the indexing is NON EXISTING.
    e) The Massage seat feature is a little unintuitive. You press the center button to activate it, but maneuvering from MASSAGE to LUMBAR is difficult. What's extremely odd is you can't touch the touchscreen to use the massage seats. That's a huge omission.
    f) There's no option for rear heated seats at current. You'd think that this car would have the same rear heated seat tech from the XT5.
    g) There's no rear multi zone climate control either. You'd think that this car would have the same rear HVAC tech from the XT5.
    h) The scroll wheel has a steep learning curve. It's not as straight forward as Mercedes or BMW.
    OVERALL, I LOVE MY CAR. This is probably the most ambitious Cadillac made yet (although I've seen the Escaladeiq in person and it looks even moreso).
    It looks like a $100,000 bucks but costs $70,000 - $80,000 properly equipped.
    I got the power moonroof because I'm used to having one. I don't really think I "need it" but I like having it. There's no wind screen so if you open the roof while driving fast, all the aerodynamic airflow sounds like a hurricane above your head.
    I have the 19 KW charger option. Originally I omitted it, but I ended up getting it in this allocation. Unless you are always fast charging/ DC fast charging you may not need it.
    The moonroof and 19 KW charger are both expensive options most people can do without.

      Awesome summary. Concerning your music collection, many cars require playlists in order to be recognized by folder/name/title/artist. I had to make playlists for my Cadillac ELR to properly recognize my many, many folders of mp3s. It's a time consuming process but if you really treasure your collection and would play it often it might end up being worth it.

      @PassportBrosBusinessClass My '24 Lyriq is a Nov build and the power moonroof has a wind screen that pops out when opened fully. I have found the 19 KW charger useful at destination EVSE's that run at 80 amp (mainly found at Inter-city hotels), it is like an extra free shot of juice. I like your NY channel content. I think the XT5 should be retired because the Lyriq can hold its own in this market. No need to have both in the market anymore. Maybe after 2025 MY the XT5 will finally be put to rest.

    When the concept was introduced, I didn't really like the design. But I have to say, it looks much better here (maybe it's the color, I dunno). Still not a fan of the hatchback like rear, but that seems to be the direction the industry is heading. Overall, looks good.
    Also, while I wouldn't buy an EV in my situation, it makes perfect sense for this guy. Solar panels and EV charging is a pretty sweet combo.

    Glad I found this video with an actual owner giving his opinion about it. One thing I did not hear mentioned is: does it have one pedal driving? I watched several Lyric videos and have not heard anyone talk about that. Everything else seems to be positively praised by the people that are reviewing the Lyric.

      Yes, it does have one pedal driving, which is also adjustable. Here's a link to Cadillac's page on the Lyriq's one pedal driving: www.cadillac.com/support/quick-start-guides/lyriq/one-pedal-driving

    When I had the chance to sit in and drive one, I noticed that Cadillac uses high quality switches and buttons. Not like the minimalist rules of Tesla and Rivian. That light show is something you can put on repeat and display instead of Christmas lights at your house!
    Would love to get some front trunk space but since it's a good sized vehicle, the cargo area in back is nice!
    I'm jealous that our Rivian doesn't have an automated roof shade like yours.

    There are several things that this has borrowed from its former Opel colleague, nice to see that history is kept alive, even if that, history is now just history.

    Great to hear an owner's thoughts about his new Lyriq. It sure is a good looking car, with high quality interior materials. Good value for the money as well. IDK if the $65k launch edition price is still available. IIRC Cadillac raised prices. Also be careful about the $7500 tax credit. IIRC Cadillac says it is only good for deliveries up to 12/31/2023, and goes away in 2024. GM is working to bring the tax credit back, but they have to source cell components that comply with 2024 IRS rules before it can be restored.

    How much range is listed on the window sticker with the 22” wheels?

    • @EVRider
      @EVRider  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      According to Autoblog: "The RWD on 22s was estimated at 287 miles combined, the AWD on 22s, 276 miles. In certification papers submitted in May concerning the 2024 Lyriq RWD, the figures had dropped to 307 miles on 20-inchers, 274 miles on 22-inchers." I’m curious how much did the dealership mark up the price from the MSRP price? How much of the Fed rebate did you get. Full $7500 or half at $3750? What was your total price minus tax and license. Thank you!

    • @EVRider
      @EVRider  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't know if the owner checks these TH-cam comments but he ordered his Lyriq long enough ago that answers to your questions wouldn't really apply to someone buying now since the federal tax incentive requirements have changed and dealer fees/markups/taxes can vary by city/state. Its great in Florida but in Illinois that is now 31 below zero it's not so great.

    • @EVRider
      @EVRider  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have to admit, if I was still living in the snow belt, especially if I didn't have a garage, I'd probably be driving some old AWD gas junker. I certainly remember the salt, sand and trucks plowing me in. 31 degrees below, ouch. I've lived through some below zero stretches in my day, but never by that much. I'm assuming overnight charging and using an EV's preconditioning feature should help, just as engine block heaters and trickle chargers help gas cars still start/run in horrid temperatures like that.

      @@EVRider Thank you for filling what "davekent20' left out. To wit gas/diesel cars do not function well in the cold, either. This writer owns an EV in cold New England. And like ANY appliance, you have to know how to use it. To complain to the maker that your ignorance is their fault-- sounds like the squeal of some Left wing nut job.

    • @EVRider
      @EVRider  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@harriettanthony7352 All cars have gotten so good it's sometimes easy to forget that we still have to prepare for extreme weather events - gas or EV. I think you're likely seeing so much coverage about cold weather EV issues because it's unusual. As a former TV news producer, I can tell you if something is commonplace it usually isn't as newsworthy. But no question, on the public infrastructure side, the charging companies must do better. To roll in to DC charger and find a line because 1 or more of the chargers haven't been properly maintained is unacceptable. The model that some companies are using of fixing it weeks or even months later has to change.
