    Great - probably one of the best videos you've done

    I've got the Alfred Sargent Pall Mall, Shoreditch , Kelso and Maine and have owned all of these for a number of years . In my experience they are great 'all rounders' in the sense that they do everything to an impressive standard ( design , quality of materials , comfort, durability ). I would not say they might always have the 'looks' of Gazianos or have the venerable durability of Trickers but they certainly tick all the boxes to a high degree. I hope they survive as a brand .

      I hope so too, though if they spin off as Bill Sargent or something like it and focus on the exclusive and Handgrade options they recently developed I’d be happy too.

    I'm a big fan of Alfred Sargent. I have a Country line SpTD in scotch grain, which I'm very hapy with. And a vintage boot I bought on Ebay. It's interesting that AS have the oval viewing cut out on the inside of the shoe which shows the sizing and last details. It's on all my AS shoes. I also have a pair of black cap toe oxfords made by John White. Now, John White no longer makes descent GW shoes, to my knowledge. But the pair I bought are GW and have nice fudging and a narrow (ish) waist. The oval cut out detailing shoes size/width/last is present, making me think AS made them.
    Anyway, I think i'm becoming a bit of a shoe geek....
    Regards
    Tony
    p.s I agree that Trickers always seem to run bigger.

      Thanks for the comment and I’d love to see a pic of a SpTD.

    Very nice review and I appreciate your opinion vs many people on youtube only positive and afraid to say anything negative heaven forbid.

    If I may ask from your experience: Moore vs Belgrave if you had to pick one based on quality of materials and craftsmanship ?

    • @wishoeguy
      @wishoeguy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d say the Moore inches ahead in terms of sole quality. The upper is very very close though the finishing on the Moore would inch ahead as well. Though since the Moore is no longer made i should point out that Belgrave is a perfectly acceptable and wonderful shoe.

      @@wishoeguy Greatly appreciated , I've found a brand new ex-display pair of Moores for a very good price. The only trouble is that they are black - would have preferred the Cherry!

      That sucks but there are many patina artists out there that can change the color to whatever you want.

    Alfred Sargent are still making shoes, but because of legal reasons they are now trading under the name of Paul Sargent Shoes.
    Still the same shoes but slightly different name.

      @@wishoeguy They reopened around April 2021, with a much thinned down workforce.
