Love how they keep most things natural and don’t allow massive buildings. They’re still making rum and lot of things the old way and that mean’s their history is always on display for the young generation and visitors. Many Caribbean islands have lost their identity.
Having been here several times I can say this is a beautiful country. To top it all off, the people here are some of the nicest and kindest people I have ever come across anywhere.
Yay love that you featured our Resort and Restaurant! Definitely come to Dodgy Dock on a Wednesday night for our street food event, food drinks, and dancing you can't go wrong 😁!
I met my Special Forces SGM US Army here, 1985. I fell in love. I would go back in one second.. and so would he.. I got off the C-130 as an Army 2LT.. and saw him.. and this island.. and.. that was it! HI has NOthing on this island! We both have been to HI too and .. this is the REAL place to go!

Great video! Thank you for spot lighting my island. I think the name was given bc it reminded the Europeans of Granada in spain I coild be wrong, but never heard of the pomegranate fruit story
I remember when I was a kid my friend's dad mentioned he was in the Marines. I asked him where he was deployed he said Grenada, the way he said makes me feel like he thought it was a dumb idea
Grenada is a peaceful, friendly island. Wonder when he was deployed there and for what. Sounds like they wanted to send him to a great place to vacation - or to live!
@@paulinelouison6933 from what I remember he was sent to some kind of altercation that happened in the 80s i was 5 maybe 6 years old so I might be wrong on that.
I love the strict development laws to keep beaches untouched..... they have done the same on many beaches in the dominican republic including saona island which is an untouched island off the DR south coast of palm tree forests and nothing more than a few beach huts and one village called mano jaun with a population of around 300 who are the only people allowed to live on saona.
Can I use some of your works to do a promo video for my upcoming independence song ? Or I can send it so you can put it on your channel....I'll be soo greatful 🙏
It's notable that you brought up Americans relocating to Latin America without embracing the language or culture. It parallels the situation of migrants who come to America and never fully learn English, relying on government assistance and residing in subsidized housing. However, there are also successful migrants who establish businesses, move their families to the suburbs, and genuinely assimilate into American culture.
Hey Google. Did the Bank of England own Slaves ? At one point in the 1700s, the Bank's role as a lender also led to it owning two plantations and their enslaved workforce in Grenada as security on a loan to a business that could no longer be repaid. Individuals involved with the Bank were also personally linked to slavery.
Christopher Columbus was a savage who decimated the native population When Columbus traveled home from the Caribbean, he loaded up 17 ships with 1,200 men to return to the islands and capture the natives as slaves. They locked 1,500 Arawaks in cages in 1495, and the "best slaves" were shipped back to Spain, but many of them never reached the country. The harsh conditions of the journey killed 200 of them, and when their slave ships arrived, the Spaniards were often too tired to untie their captives, so they just beheaded them. After experiencing intense cruelty and genocide, the Arawaks eventually rallied together to fight back against the Spaniards, but each one who wasn't killed by muskets and swords was hanged or burned by Columbus.
I think it's a Jamaican business doing the narration. It should be a Grenadian or at least someone who knows how to pronounce the place names having checked them before doing the narration of the video.
How did we encountered French tradition when we the people were never part of French colonization. France colonized the black Caribs and Taino Arawak and the British fought the French for the island and pit the inhabitants to the sword. French masters fled to Trinidad and St Lucia with their slaves in their position. The remaining 50 slaves leap to their death The British having an empty islands with no humans went into Africa and brought home a slave negro cargo y force. The title of this video is wrong. Granada is in Spain. Grenada is a country in the Caribbean.
Just a small correction 🇬🇩 Grenada is South of Saint Vincent Not barbados, please and Thank You.
She should have said south-west of Barbados.
@@julianmarshall2127 Grenada is closest to Trinadad and Tobago St.Vincent, specifically north and south, respectively.
It's pronounced "Guav" like guava (which is what Gouyave means). Not "Goh yah veh"

Need to correct our island name to English speaking Grenada; IT IS GR'E'NADA and Not Granada, a Spanish island off Spain
YOU are wrong. It's a car that was made by Ford ;-)....mon
It's pronounced Green-nay-da!
