Backhand shots are useful because they’re deceptive - it’s difficult for the goaltender to anticipate where the puck is going as it comes off the player’s blade.
They’re a quick shot that can be taken in tight spaces, from difficult angles and can be elevated quickly with minimal effort.
It's important to have the versatility of a solid backhander as top-notch defenseman will purposefully push you to your backhand, given the chance.
There are two types of backhand shots:
    1. The Crosby or snap shot backhand
    2. The Datsyuk or the wrist shot backhand
In this video, we’ll cover both types of backhand shots.

My one question is how tasty is the mic while you're eating it?
Sound quality is a little rough but great video otherwise!

Tastes like chicken! LOL Hey, we're hockey guys first, but we'll work on the audio quality. This is a major upgrade from our first video, haha. Thanks for the nice compliment - appreciate the feedback.

In my opinion the backhand is one of my favorite shots because of how diseptive it is. Its all in your too hand and wrist pop rotation motion, which will get you backhand shot up in a hurry. Using your bottom hand won't get your backhand any better its all in the top hand.

Yes, one of the major reasons backhands are so effective is due to their deceptiveness!

@@HockeyRecap absolutely, but the problem is many players aren't using the backhand shot or dedicating their time to practice it.

For those player out there please work on your backhand shot, dedicate your time and effort working on it and trust me your backhand shot will be deadly accurate and hard for the goalie to read. I practiced the backhand shot for 2 years now and I have more backhand goals then wristshot goals. So please work on it
