    I've used this sequence with the kids I teach, and they love it! Little ones who don't have great arm strength can still get the wrist snap to work! When the puck hits the inside top of the net the smiles on my kids' faces light up all of Canada!
    Thanks Coach Jeremy!!

    Really helpful stuff, Coach Jeremy. My 11 y/o son and I watch them and he practices them. Amazing how much his shot has improved, even at the Squirt level. Real confidence builder for him and helps him enjoy the game more. Keep it up, Coach J.

    I would like to see some of these vids remastered with a phantom cam shot on the blade and one on the hands. Seeing the movement in slow mo really helps being able to practice

    • @zaharu4375
      @zaharu4375 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be epic. You can even do good slo mo with a high quality phone camera these days, as long as you use a high frame rate. But obviously a phantom would be better. It’s just expensive

    Very good advice, when hitting you lead with your shoulder, make your arm like a V and drive that V into the center of mass of the other guy. My friend and coach Jim Vitale teaches this method at his hockey camps. V to the Logo of their jersey.

    I'm defenseman and then I get not so much chances to shoot when I'm close to the target so I practice on backhand shots far from the goal. Is it wrong?

    My go-to move is a forehand fake and then I go backhand. If the fake is good enough, the goalie drops early, so when I go backhand, he's in the sprawl. After that I just wait him out, and sometimes his leg won't reach the post, so I just slide it in. More than half the time, though, I get robbed with the pad, so I need to work on elevating my backhand shot.

    • @lonewolfsx29
      @lonewolfsx29 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do this same move, but I find if I wait on the backhand and the puck settles I can't lift it as sharply close to the net. If I go from forehand to backhand and immediately lift it, the puck still has a little flutter to it and I can roof it about half the time.. could do it more consistently if I practiced that move more often.

    Hey man, your videos are really great. There the best instructional videos I've seen on TH-cam yet. You do a real good job. I had an idea that I thought would make for a good video: a "how to shoot in stride" instructional video. I'm currently trying to get better at shooting in stride myself and I haven't really found any good videos on youtube to help me. Let me know if this is in your plans or if you already have a video on it.... thanks!

    The lower the stance the better as you have more room to explode through the hit, Always hit with your shoulder this might sound stupid but the number of times people try to hit me with their chests is unbelievable. Always try to hit them as close to the center of the body and if you can right in the middle of the rib cage this way they will lose their balance. dont get into bad habits of trying to push people with your arms. always go in with your shoulder :)

    sorry, but this is disappointing instruction. physics of puck motion spinning up on the stick at the right angle is the key, not rolling or popping your wrists you can shelf a backhand without turning your whole body to a certain position. it's top hand position and using the whole blade from the heel if you want to have access to a quick high backhand. watch your own technique in the moves at the end of the video - you're doing it my way, not the way you instructed.
