    In this video, you will learn how to use the linework tool. This tool is used to change the linework of any line in any view. Linework refers to the line style, line weight, color, etc. There are a number of components to lines in Revit, which can all be edited in the line style settings. the same line types that show up in the line styles show up in the linework tool for use. Thanks for watching!

    Hello, I like the way you present example in a very simple way. About myself, I am using autocad in my structural drawings. I went two schools in Revit one is offered by the Revit and the other one is in UC-Berkely ext. I finished all of them and one hundred percent I think I got an A+ grade. Anyway, being an autocad user switching to Revit is not as easy as 123 but this time I now started using Revit. My question is on the plan the beam and floor joist laid out are showing 2 parallel lines. I want these two lines to be as one. Do you have ideas? I went to different youtube demos last night but I did not see anything that explained. Thanks and take care.

      If I were you I would look to creating a line based detail component. It would technically be a lone based detail item. You’ll first see a reference line in the default family template when you open it. Drawing two lines in this family would mean that when you use it, you’ll be printed to draw a line and the family will draw whatever you placed in the family. In this case it could be two lines straddling the reference line. Let me know if you need more info.

    Thanks for all the content, if you see at least one like, it's probably from me. Anyways, I am wondering if in a future video you can talk about yourself a bit. I know you mentioned some experience in a professional environment, and I also see you using a .edu email in your other video. I just want to know who I am learning from. There are other popular revit youtube channels that while are helpful, they ultimately should not be referred to for professional work, and only useful for school work. In my opinion, you can really only learn Revit(and its many intricacies and work flow) through real-world, production environments.

      You're absolutely correct! I do recommend using Revit through school but to fully understand it, you will need to use it in in a professional setting. I do have a lot of professional experience, over 5 years. I simply use a "student version" of Revit to create videos. There is no difference in the student and professional version, just how the licensing works. My hope is that my experience translates through my videos. Everything I say in my videos is based on having professional experience and using Revit daily as my job in the industry. Given that, the videos should also be relevant to those just learning Revit and to those using Revit in school.

      @@ArchitectureVanguard your experience does translate, you make excellent videos. I have never once seen something you've done in your videos and said to myself "I would never do that one of my projects".

    Hi, how did come with different line styles aside form the default one?

    • @ArchitectureVanguard

      In the Manage Tab>Additional Settings>Line Styles, you can add your own new line styles to your heart's content!

    Do you have a typical line weight table that you normally use? I've been working on making the drawings pop more and all methods seem to be more complicated that they need to be.

      I find the Revit default is pretty good. The things I will do at times is adjust a few of the line weights to make the drawings pop more. I know that is a super generic answer but what I would do is just beef up lines here and there. I would do this especially in sections.

    Hi bro how r u ..plz tell me what is the use of fine ,coarse , medium.why we use these setting...

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depends on the detail you want to archive from a particular drawing. For example make a wall with a lot of different parts to it and change the floor plan from course to fine. You will see the detail change. You can also determine if lines show up in only course or not as another example.

    *How do you revert back to the default linework after you change it?*

    • @ArchitectureVanguard
      @ArchitectureVanguard  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would need to override the line with some other kind of line. That, or you could cut the element and paste it in same place. This would override the lines.
