- Today I'm jumping into adjusting the carburetors and throttle to see if I can get my Yamaha Banshee 350 to idle properly. It runs good, but it dies as soon as I let off the throttle, so let's see if we can fix that! I am really new to 2-stroke carburetors, but I think I'll be learning a lot today! I just need to watch out for trees...

Looks like Keihin PJ style carbs. Definitely not the stock mikuni’s. The ignition kill has been removed, don’t worry about it. TORS is what that switch controls in the thumb throttle.
1-1/2 turns is a good start for the screw you were adjusting. It’s the air screw for the pilot circuit, idle mixture. Less turns out equals less air, or a richer mixture. Remove the bowls, and take out the smaller, non hex head jet. Gummed up gasoline clogs up the teeny tiny hole pretty quickly. Use a cigarette lighter to warm up and soften the dried up gas inside the jet, blast with carb cleaner and finish with compressed air.
You should not adjust the cable for idle, I bet you’ll continue to fight that. Seems like you know this, but wanted to get it running either way. No harm, we’ve all been there!!Look up the correct method to turn the choke pull for idle adjustment on the PJ style. It’s different than most but not difficult once you learn how!

Rear end has definitely been 12 o clocked and bent the frame that’s why ure bolts don’t aline

Why can’t I find a deal like this on a Banshee
They don’t come up often!
You might not be jetted right for the pipes and silencers. The smoke is either she’s running way to rich, bad mixture or you need rings.

The screws on the carbs are your air screw, turning left will give more air flow, that electrical button on the top turns the machine off because it’s not set up to the factory tors system that used to be on the old carbs, so you have to cut the wires delete that whole button, twist the exposed wire and should be good now👍🏽 banshee looks great! Also you can adjust the throttle idel from the top of the throttle cable pull back the rubber piece and can slide the cable back forth turning out will give you more throttle udjust, hope this helped out for you

Take the carbs apart and blow some air threw the pilot jets. That’s one of the most common problems for a ruff or no idle
I already took them apart once and they looked pretty clean. Which jet is the pilot jet on these? Was it the one I pulled out in the video, or was that a mixture adjustment?
The idle screw is what you removed in the video. If you take the bottom bowl off the carb you will see your main jet which has a hex head on it like a bolt would. Your pilot jet will be the smaller one and it is removed with a small flat head screw driver
The carburetor are on the wrong side and the connecting tube in the middle is missing it will fix it
those keihin carbs dont have that from what i recall those are single carbs both same. not as oem who are left and right
hate to say it bud but you might not be a banshee guy. you might be better off with a 300ex or something like that. you didn't even start to touch the power band at all.

Funny you should mention that…. The only only sport quad I’ve had before this was a 300EX over bored to almost a true 300 (stock is around 280).
Our yard is kinda small for the Banshee, you start opening it up and you are already at the far fence. When I get it running good I’d like to take it to some sand dunes.

Wow man u got an amazing base there to start with I believe u are still a lil green when it comes to the king of quads but u should look up Michael Sabo and stupid fast John on TH-cam they have great channels wonderful machines and r somewhat banshee gurooos of this modern age!!!
