That's the point you don't have it unlike me that does have the old one this is clearly not a new route and they even went and said it's very similar....but the fan boys will lap it up as they always do
@@Grumpy_Englishman yes exactly, I mean it genuinely looks good and fun. but it is not a new route. and for people who don't have the route, it's nice that the route costs $40 (even though that alone is way too much).but the people who do have the route are screwed so hard. because if you have already bought the m3 and you also want this extension, you literally pay $80 for this route alone. people forget that dovetail is not a happy community that cares about everyone, it is simply a company that cares a lot about your wallet.
@steg3340 Have no idea where you're coming from.. sure they say it's similar because it is the same route, but made from scratch with new PIS, new M9, redone M7 and so much more. Sure, you already purchased the older one but you can't say it's the same.. find one similarity that doesn't include the route or trains.
honestly, i would have loved the Port Washington branch since it's longer and the M9 can apparently operate on it. The long beach branch is about 6.1 miles. I still think this route is quite small. Hopefully in the future we get other parts of LIRR As a separate route, something like Babylon branch for example.
Thanks for the preview. Route looks great - already pre-ordered. Looking forward to Waterloo-Portsmouth line (UK) in the near future and would pay good money for that (fingers crossed), as the TS version seems a little outdated now unfortunately…

Does ATC on LIRR immediately apply a penalty brake application (i.e, it does not give you time to react and put the train into ATC Forestall)? I noticed in the second run that ACSES does seem to give you time to react. Also, how do real LIRR engineers know if they will be crossing over tracks, since the signalling can be unpredictable (e.g., you get a Clear signal but you will be crossing over)? Does the dispatcher tell them in advance or is it memorization?
When cab signals downgrade (70 to 40, for example) the Automatic Speed Control system will automatically apply brakes. In cases where you switch on a Clear signal, you won't really know until you're right on top of it. You may know in advance if the dispatcher tells you or you are intimately familiar with that service's pathing.
The track rails must reflect the train lights in a aggressive manner in the evening, tunnels and underground. They should shine - like in real life. The rails are steel and serve as a natural reflection from the strong lights - head lights coming from the train/loco. Otherwise, excellent job on the LIRR.
Looks good. More realistic and busier than this route used to be. Still think this sort of content should be made free or at a discounted rate for those of us that brought the original route when it came out 5 years ago. I don't think this DLC should sell much because Dovetail should know that they can't do things like this. and they have done the same with steam trains. because steam trains no longer generated money for them, they stopped further developing these steam trains. while almost everyone in this community wants steam trains, but instead of making the steam trains better they throw the entire project away. the only reason they do absurd things like this is because they have a monopoly on train simulators. so no, this dlc should not sell much. remember this is a company not a happy community, they don't care about you but about your wallet.
