    I use a telescoping paddle. That bar like the Explorer has though is handy. I so wish Yamaha would copy that platform, then make one that isn't absurdly priced.

    What shaft length do you recommend for the trolling motor and what size battery is recommended

    • @One-offOutdoors
      @One-offOutdoors  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My Minn Kota is an ulterra riptide salt water version. 54 inch shaft 80 pound thrust which is more than plenty strong enough. I use a 24 V lithium battery(only 25pounds).

      Same for fresh water?

    • @One-offOutdoors
      @One-offOutdoors  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you fish freshwater, you will not need the salt water version of the Minn Kota. The freshwater is less expensive. And much lighter in weight.

      Hello there
      I’m all the way over the other side of the world in Australia 🇦🇺
      I have a Fishpro Trophy and am looking to fabricate my own mount and like what you have done, if I email you could you please send me some details as well

      Or better yet are you fabricating and selling them? If so what is the cost and can you organize freight to Sydney Australia

    • @One-offOutdoors
      @One-offOutdoors  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes I will be selling them soon. I’m still working out manufacturing and shipping. I’m doing my best to lower the cost to the consumer. This went from an idea in my head in March. To being patented, built, tested and redesigned over the summer. Now I’m moving from fabrication to mass manufacturing. All of this takes time. Please subscribe to my channel and follow for updates. Also email me and I can send you more information. I use this to talk directly to any potential customers. My email address is….

    Do you make this troll motor mount for a 2021 Yamaha fx svho limited?

      I currently have no design for that model of Jetski. Right now my only working design is on the Sea-Doo fish pro. There are a long list of reasons, but basically it comes down to these.
      Seadoo‘s platform for the ski is more conducive to fishing from than any model out there. It has to do with the placement of their steering column and storage compartment being very near the rider.
      Also, it has a long flat nose. This creates a very level and balanced surface for the extra weight that is placed on the nose of the ski. Additionally, it has built-in cleats below the riders hands, which serve as excellent anchor points.
      It also has very deep foot wells and an extended rear deck platform that makes the Fishpro very buoyant and almost impossible to tip over.
      Add to that all of the fishing equipment that is already stock on that model, well it saves the owner quite a bit of money and time in building the perfect fishing vessel for himself.
      I hope all of this makes sense. I’ll be putting out some videos in the spring highlighting the points I pointed out, as well as many others as to why the Fishpro is just a far superior fishing vessel.
      Now if you want to get into engine, mechanics, durability, and things like that well, yes Kawasaki and Yamaha take the lead in those areas.
      Thanks again for your interest. Keep me in mind if you ever switch over to a Fishpro to serve as your fishing vessel.

    Why not just use the already attached bow rope? No need for $2K worth of trolling motor just to have something to pull on. If I were that concerned about shallow water debris I would sooner invest in a collapsible kayak paddle no more than it's going to be needed. If you need a trolling motor for your particular fishing, then that is another matter.

    • @One-offOutdoors
      @One-offOutdoors  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comments. This is just showing one particular circumstance in which the trolling motor can be used in many other ways than other than fishing. The JetSki allows you to get from point A to point B much faster than a kayak. At 50 miles an hour you can get to where you’re going and start fishing ASAP. If you’re launching your JetSki by yourself, you can also use the trolling motor to spot lock and hold a position off to the side of the boat ramp while you go and park your vehicle. Most of the freshwater boat ramps don’t have docks close by that you can just tie to. So this is a big help. Then of course, there are the obvious benefits of a trolling motor when it comes to many styles of fishing.

      I use a collapsing boat hook. Its 4 to 8 ft telescoping. I keep it in a rod holder or foot well with floats on either end so I wont lose it. The idea of a troll motor is awesome but its too expensive for me. I use my bass boat for serious fishing, its much more comfortable. JMHO

      Yes it comes naturally for me. I taught school for 32 years. Many of those years in physical science. So my brain always sees things through that spectrum. This contributed heavily to the concept and engineering of this mounting system. It is also what causes me to be in a constant state of modification and problem solving. So this one-off ideology has been with me forever. Thanks for your comments and subscribe so you can see all the other helpful design concepts coming soon.
