- Lena Dunham talks about her experience with anxiety and OCD, which began at a very young age. How did she learn to cope and overcome it? Why is the incidence of youth anxiety increasing so dramatically? What are some of the root causes and what can be done about it? Lena joins The Youth Anxiety Center at NewYork-Presbyterian's Dr. Anne Marie Albano and moderator Jenni Konner, Lena's business partner (co-founder of their production company "A Casual Romance" and an imprint lennyletter.com and Executive producer of their HBO’s series Girls) to discuss a problem facing millions of families.

I love this strong opinionated Jewish Ashkenazi woman. Happy 38th Birthday Lena. 🔯👩🎉🎂
Informative and interesting!
The way she spoke about ADHD was so demeaning, then the way she turned around at 40:50 about kids with anxiety and how they’re the cute quiet ones in the corner with a book. Like fuccccck all the way off with that. No matter the diagnosis, ALL kids who struggle NEED support.
THANKS FOR THIS. YOU GURLS ARE SO BRAVE AND NECESSARY
**When you have anxiety and then you feel shame about your anxiety, You're punishing yourself twice.
Reminds me of dating in Manhattan. All neurosis egged on by well-meaning therapists. It's no wonder that Woody Allen found a goldmine of material in it. And obviously Dunham, as someone obviously influenced by him, does as well. But I'm glad that Allen always expressed it in his work. As someone who has suffered from anxiety himself, no one gives a shit.

I'm really sick of people complaining about. I realistic issues. It's ridiculous
I was planning on watching this talk, since anxiety causes so much suffering and there are probably some insightful comments offered, but after hearing Dr. Albano's casual remark right at the beginning about a sociopath running for President, I was quite turned off and did not wish to view this. I think it's very important to be restrained and careful in language, especially negative remarks about others. She may be a fine therapist, but she lost me in that malicious remark.
She is right though
