For a base model this is really well equipped! It has everything that I need! :)
I got the 1liter manual with AC and normal radio, no other bells and whistles, no start/stop, just pure basic plastic, i bought the car to save on fuel, it gets 50+mpg when i'm taking it easy with the AC off, the fuel consumption is crazy low, it's also very comfortable, with the rear seats down it turns into a minivan to transport scrapmetal etc, so far it has done 45000km now, best daily beatercar I have ever owned!
I bought one of these new for my son and daughter in-law 2016,they love it,no issues just really cheap motoring.
I would love to see just a short clip of the two fold seats folded all the way down without the headrest. Im definitely interested in this car!
I got a 2018.
It's a basic car that saves you money at the gas pump. And it's cheap. It's not fast and for some reason mine drives alot better now with 5,000 miles than b4
I've always been a fan of hatchbacks and econobox cars. If I was in the market for a new car and didn't want to go for a used Toyota; I'd go for the Mirage. With its warranty and features for such decent price, you can't go wrong. People often watch big honking SUVs but often rarely use the vehicle to its full capacity, then complain about how much it costs to fill. I feel the Mirage is almost a throwback to the 90s econoboxes with updated features. For a commuter car, I think its a fantastic value and would be good to have as a commuter car and save the off road run on the weekends for the truck/SUV.

Just bought a 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage base model because of your review and others. I down graded from a Chevy Cruze hatch because I think it'll won't be as reliable as the Mitsubishi Mirage. Plus I'm more into the fuel economy in my cars then I am with speed. Thank you! Great review btw! 👍

@@slingshot8721 dealership discount for 2000 and 500 off for referrals. Also get 3 months free paid by Mitsubishi. It's super fun car, zips through city with excellent mpg. Getting way better average than EPA estimates. 45 average for me.
How much to fill it up with gas
@@whitneyhayes8085 depends of the price of gas where you're located. But for me, I'll only gas 5 gallons with 15 cents off per gallon discount at Shell gas station for little over $13 and gets me 245 total average miles. 9 gallons to fill up.

Height adjustable seats standard that is great. I tested a used 2018 Mirage not long ago in infra red and love it. Id wait to get a 2019 for that and the warranty. Shame the reviewers knock it to pieces thats why i go by consumer reviews and i personally love it. That and im gettting work done on my Smart that is just outrageous. What is maintience on this car like and will it run on regular gas using normal motor oil?
Yes the 2019 ES now comes with Cruise control and height adjustable seats as standard :)
Ive has 2 in the last 2 months . My 1st Mirage was totalled with just 2000 miles in an accident that wasn't my fault . My replacement is red with fog lights . The old one was grey with no fog lights . I wanted a console so I ordered one .
IMO for the money its great . But I guess time will Be the test .
By the way please consider GAP insurance on your next vehicle purchase !

On the website it's trying to sell me air conditioning and power locks as options, but this video says it's standard. Does your base model come with AC and power locks? The site is telling me I need to add a 4000 (CAD) option if I want "manual" AC and Power locks?
Jayjayhooks AC and Power locks are standard in all models. They come with it.
Warranty is transferable?
The last 14 inch wheels. Plan to have to order tires when replacing and also check insurance rates on this car. Insurance companies hate the mirage.
@S S Ask your insurance person before buying. I had a 2010 Chevy Aveo which had 14 inch tires and tire shops didn't carry them. (had to be ordered.) The 2010 Aveo was the last car not to have ABS or stability control standard and that car ran $200+ a year higher insurance then anything else. (Corvette owners had cheaper insurance then I did.) Bottom end Mirage does not come with speed control as my Aveo was lacking that also. 178,000 miles of no speed control I said never again. The Mirage does come with mini donut spare tire which is a plus.
Does the LS have the same features? I was on the Mitsubishi Australia website and it didn’t seem to show a rear parking camera and didn’t mention a touch screen
The 2019 Mirage ES the one in the video comes with rear-view camera, touch scree display and cruise control.
What's it like driving this thing with the A/C on? My 2003 Kia Rio had 104 hp and it was almost undrivable with the A/C turned on, so much power was taken away to run the A/C that nothing was left to move the damn car.
We've had not comments from customers or complaints.
I bought a 2019 version a few weeks ago, so far there’s no difference.
May I suggest to slow down your speech and find a room that does not echo. When you step away from the camera your voice also gets lost. You can sell more cars using less words and being
more deliberate in your presentation.

Loads of cars still don't have push button ignition, especially in entry-level trims.
Does this car have apply carplay?
No not the 2019 ES. The 2021 ES now has Applecar play standard

this vehicle comes with 4 years 0% EMI. Go for it if this is the deal, otherwise it is not worth it. Dont pay over 13k.

Mitsubishi is the only one that doesn't offer emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping/departure alert or dynamic radar cruise control that other compact cars have. As a result, it doesn't get the IIHS Top Safety Pick
Wrong. Mitsubishi's priority is safety! Our vehicles do have Emergency braking aka Forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning, lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert. All our vehicle are built with RISE Body Construction;
Mitsubishi's Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body utilizes crumple zones that route and absorb energy during high-impact collisions. Reinforcements at key body points complement its side-impact door beams, a stable, secure base. The Mirage our most affordable sedan / hatchback does not have those automatic safety features but it is built with Rise body construction. And they all have an advanced 7 air bag SRS system.

Mitsubishi is ruining a basic car. By putting in those stupid 'infotainment systems', adding more and more complex things, like cameras, 'active stability control', anti lock breaks etc....
And that crappy CVT transmission. How about putting in simple things like,...a steering wheel that locks when the key is taken out! A simple anti theft feature. EVERY CAR made for over 30 years now, has in it. IF anyone wanted to steal this of course:) Cant even get manual windows now. I mean it is a basic car, keep it that way. The engine, an item you NEVER mention, the horrible lack of power. Give it a bigger engine. Take out the stupid infotainment system and power locks and windows and add 1 more cylinder. The engine is as SMALL as the battery is BIG! I love manual everything. Less to break.
I want one of these badly!! But I'll buy a 2 year old one, it has lost 70% of its value and only has like 40K miles on it and a long warranty left. For only $7K. I love these 'video commercials', they never mention the simple things, like the lack of power or the no lock steering wheel. Love the colors, it will wait till it is 2 years old:)
Bigger engine means bigger price and bigger fuel costs
Bigger is not always better and a three banger motor can suit you well in city traffic and highway driving. I drive a Smart car with a three banger motor and get along with it fine and the motor is made by Mitisubishi which is identical to the motor in the Mirage with one exception the Smarts motor requires premium gas and mobil one syntheitc while the Mirage uses regular unleaded and conventional motor oil.
Cost. That’s the issue.
You drive/bought a Smart?!! A company that is basically out of the car business, they now only make that 'car' in all electric version only. Or it will be only electric VERY soon. Not that it will make it better.
One of THE worst cars ever made..and as YOU say, it NEEDS premium gas, and has a tiny little 3 cyl and a crap CVT, ...It is just a joke on wheels. It is made by 'Mercedes', and almost cost as much as one, but isnt even THAT low quality. It drives like a skateboard on hard wheels, and they are worth next to nothing. The Mirage is more valuable. Car makers MAKE the US customers THINK they only want only SUVS..again. Recall those days?? Now that gas is 'cheap' again. Once it is back up to $4-5 a gallon, those SUVs wont be able to be given away. Ford is only making SUVs now. Because all the car makers have convinced all of the USA they NEED a huge SUV to haul 1 fat ass around town at 10MPG. Then THESE tiny crap cars will cost twice as much and be in demand!! Ford will bring a $40K 'Ka' to the US. The car makers are smart.THEY make the country think they only need SUVs. The UK still only wants these tiny cars, or Jags. But their petrol is $6-8 a gallon. @@user-bq5cs5oe5x
