Yes, and often even if you do everything right you can still end up with very little spotting damage. I find most teams don't set up in good places to deal damage from LT spotting.
@@StephenJohnson-jb7xe I played LT today. I died multiple times when I would go into positions which usually would not be too aggressive, but would die horribly, because my team for some reason would refuse to go into normal positions. They would abandon entire flanks and would lemming to either one or the other direction. Of course, we assuredly lost all those matches in a pretty one sided fashion.
My other favorite is when my team lemmings to one side, overwhelms enemies there and breakthroughs. Then they all stop to look for ineffective shots on their sides or are spooked by a single tank destroyer lighting them up. So they stop and let other undermanned flanks to be overwhelmed.
@@REgamesplayer yes the lemming rush that stops because of one or two enemy tanks is a common problem.
Watching those tanks being erased within 5 seconds of being spotted, over and over again on Prokhorova was a thing of beauty! That was a heck of a lot of fire power behind Ferox.

Yes, the trick is knowing you have supporting fire also. And when they had 90* of firing angles on them, it was GG as he spotted them...
When you elevate your gun, one of the points from which spotting rays are emmited is higher up. I'm pretty sure it's located at the base of the gun so effect is minimal but still.
The other point at the top of the turret denies virtually any advantage, save for some very specific angles where you would gain a few milliseconds. The difference is microscopic, it's probably just for the memes
there is a very very important thing when you want to do a lot of spotting, something that is very rare to obtain, a good team that can shoot.

My 6th game in my T100LT was on Prokhorovka back in April of 2021.
18125 assist, 1283 damage, 2 kills. 1626xp and finished LT mission 15.
That's the moment you ask yourself if you should already sell the tank as it probably won't get much better :D
Imagine being on LT-14 while having this game.
These games are actually some of the most thrilling games I've seen in a while. I guess the same old stuff I always do, bumming around in my heavy(I'm not particularly good) is getting old on me, thus those types of videos are normal to me.
But the suspense of, "how close can he get and not be spotted" brings some excitement back

I believe QB knows this full well. But considering Soul Stealer keeps it raised the whole game, i'm guessing he is raising the gun mantlet a little higher for better spotting.

22400 spotting and only 1581 xp. Somehow that just don't sound right.

CVS is such a toxic equipment... Creates such imbalance when a scout has one and not the other. The only counter to CVS, is having one as well, or giving up passive scouting whatsoever.
It is also broken or maybe the food is OP.
so many times i've got outspotted by the same tank I have when I sit in a bush, CVS on dedicated slot, optics, vents, BiA, camo, but no food.
I'm actually surprised that they haven't added more wheeled tanks to the game, now that the fr*nch boys have been out for so long

The raised barrel means he isn't just spotting, he is ogling. But does that makes us viewers voyeurs? I regret bringing this up.
The reason of the raised gun is that if you will be able to get the more spotting because the gun will be further than when in normal possision and my highest is 28,902 spotting

I want to highlight here, that some mediums are good for spotting too. Yesterday, I hat a game in my CS-63 on Prokh and had 10k spot damage at the end. If your light dies within the first 30 seconds (like so often) your meds start shaming the player but won't move by themselves. Usually, when I play a light tank and spot about 2/3rd of the enemies my team is camping and, if shooting at all, not hitting the biggest ship of a tank. -.-' I hate playin' lights because of that. Unfortunately, I have to for the missions.

the manticore i got just over 10k on properovka and the only other stat i got over 10k was armor blocked i got 10k blocked in the maus on Erlenberg
These games might look very ridiculous and the players might look super freaking good.
But actually it's just CVS + broken camo of LTs doing everything. Enemy team simply couldn't do anything because they're not LT and their LTs suck.
There was no extraordinary play in this 2 games.
13k ast 6.9k dmg 9kills 13 105 on mali forever my fav tank and an amazingly hard and fun one. And my t10 lts I push 480-500 vr 460 feels low 🤷♂️

I'll be honest the first game was good, but the second one was more of a showcase of friggin good teammates who knew when to sit and aim and when to move up into render range as well as a showcase of dumb enemies who took 3 heavily armoured heavies to the damn 1-2 line and sat there EVEN AFTER their light tank died.
In that scenario, the Progetto could have stepped up in the lowlands of the D2-E2 sectors or even more towards the middle area and catch glimpses of the moving up TDs on Ferox's side. However, due to the fact that the heavies were dumb and camped, he could not even do that, since Ferox's team had the east and mid covered.
It was a perfect example of the conditions for having a "good game" in terms of spotting. Good team with proper aim and an exceptionally dumb team. Their EBR didn't do anything "that" wrong(besides the second climb into the E1 area....you don't do that when you know the enemy light is poking, you go down and a bit behind at the bush split so there's more foliage covering you. It's not ideal, since you have more foliage to cut through, but with a CVS, you have more chances of staying alive and catching impatient players moving too far up).
In fact, I'd argue Ferox almost blew it when he shot the first time. I understand he wanted to shave off HP from the enemy light, but early on, the north team has better positions for shooting a light than the south team who is impaired by some ridge lines until they reach the far west or the bush line. Plus, he's more susceptible to a cross fire from poking meds in the mid. He was lucky he didn't get executed there, but with how the enemy team looked afterwards it's not hard to understand why.
Still, I'm not trying to take away from Ferox, but I'd say he needs to be a bit more patient. The most important thing on an LT is positioning and HP conservation, not shooting(unless you have a chance to eliminate key targets.).

As soon as saw how the enemy team had positioned themselves on Prokhorovka, I could imagine just how their chat sounded within a minute of the game started...and went downhill from there!🤣
Oh I wish i could get Prokhorovka and Malinovka maps. I only seem to get them 1 in every 200ish games.
I got 17.2k spotting this year , its a lot harder to get from 17k to 20k which a lot of people dont see
About 17k on Prokhorovka in Manticore, when all the stars did allign, 20k combined
No one in an EBR is a hero. It's legalized griefing, essentially. Mad respect to the memelord in the GSOR, tho.
The maximum I've done is 7k spotting on prokhorovka , would've been more but i had to share the spotting with another light on my team. We had both LT , enemy LT died early
Actually i like this format, rather than having most damaging battles, it would be great to have most spotting games or most assistance games, to not only watch heavy tanks into action
On console it keeping your gun off people can delay 6th sense going off.. maybe it's the same for PC???
If you dont pay money to Wot regularly you somehow find yourself on loser teams most of the time DAY AFTER DAY.
Now i get what "NOBB LIGHT SPOT" truly means.
Reason his gun is lifted.. is because the gun is what gives sight to spot in that light tank, it's strictly for spotting. This isn't a meme as I am saying this, it's how the tank spots, some mediums do the same thing as well, it's how WG has places the "view port" for these kinds of tanks.
love seeing a real light tank go out there and do there job, the wheelies can die in a fire. I think they have ruined the game. If we want to try and balance them make is so the cant take consumables. its not like they ever get tracked. make every shot they take a reason to keep moving, or if the wheel heads cry make it so they have to completely stop say the same time it take for camo and binocks to engage before they can swap from speed to mobility, and same thing for repairs. they have to stop to repair. personally i want them to take damage from wheel shots but ill comp and say they have to have down sides. And if this is not proof that they still need a rebalance i dont know what is. they take every tank that people play well and nerf the crap out of them. Wheelies need more balancing or just remove them for the time while they test them out.
Last few years i seam to play less and less, wheelies took more from the game then alot of the changes, frankly i was never a huge fan of the arty but they took the biggest hit and honestly they didnt deserve it. and the more the games speed up and up, the less and less i can play. smart moves use to be rewarded now speed is all the game is. load gold. hope you shells land. and the flank that crumbles first wins. average game 4-5 min so now a days i look for tank that can put out the most damage in that short of time. ALPHA wins trades/duals, but high rate of fire, averages better games. thats why burst damage is broken.
Is there a MOD that tells you the best spotting locations for each map?

You should research the spotting points on a tank for the first replay and you will understand why he is raising his gun. On second replay, is the ebr locking on the enemy ebr without even seeing the tank silhouette?
i got 13.5k with my elc with just standard vents binocs and camo. its pretty easy

Wish wotconsole could get the new equipment and spotting mechanics. Bushes don't work the same way on console.

The second map is were i did my very best for the light tank spotting it was like 8k dmg got that so quik by running g like a chicken with no head

when i play td nobody spots
when i play heavy i get farmed by arty
when i play arty i miss every shot
extreme coated optics? I would like those please. He is sitting still, coated optics would be no use in that mode. And i think he may be raising his gun to put that sensor up in the air. to detect more targets? there is one on then end of teh barrel no?
Wheeled tanks ruined world of tanks totally. too fast too op. 15 min go fast when team die under 3 min.

Some tanks can manipulate the spotting node on the mantle better than others. The gsor has nice elevation values so lifting it up and to the side pobaly puts it high enough to see over some ridges
that spot on malinovka is ssoo broken and unfair it shoud be removed and i dont get why wg can be this stupid...
Because worst player base, you will get this type of spotter in every 20 game, other you will loose
I think the most i got was on a Halloween special German tank got like 9k and ill I did was run around the map to the ridge and back

He is raising his gun because he knows the game mechanic. Spotting includes s ray drawn from the end of the gun, so by holding it high he can spot over terrain (including bushes) he'd otherwise not be able to see over.
what is the end of the gun? viewpoint is at the base of the gun, where it connects to the mantlet, so raising it really does not matter. on gsor it does not matter, if you turn your turret or not, because it is so small. but on some tanks it does, so locking the turret can be a good idea, because you can turn it out of the bush (borat and ebr 105 for example)
@@ottrakkaselg8033 yes, the gsor has a long mantlet which pushes the spotting point further from the turret, lifting the gun raises that point
Perhaps the first guy lits his viewrange port on the mantlet for better spotting
