Trust me Jingles, I know your pain (referring to the M48). I had the 122mm on a KV-1S, best version of the gun for that tank, with an AP round loaded. I came across one of those Chinese Type-59's? He's sitting with his side straight to me, his gun pointed elsewhere. I actually take the few seconds I have to aim directly for his side armor on his hull. Shot is lined up perfectly, and he's almost right in front of me. I fire....and the shot bounces off. I mean there is no angle to deflect, I know his side armor is crap enough for the 175mm penetration to go through, and the gun was aimed perfectly for his side armor, and the shell just bounced right off. Soon after that he swings around and blasts me to high heaven.
Considering the M48 Patton... You had terribly bad luck! The last shot hit his gun, maybe even the second last one did aswell but that is just fenomenal..
29:00 Jingles, HE ammo will hit tracks if you don't aim properly at the side of a tank. It hits the tracks and explodes with no penetration. That is what happened. If you had hit x2 zoom and aimed at the flat hull plate above the tracks, you would have penned for full damage. I know this because I have been playing the Charioteer and experimenting with the premium HE rounds that have over 200 pen and if they hit anywhere near tracks, it will not pen and it will explode for minimal damage. To pen, full aim at an armor plate, away from those tracks. I usually enter x2 zoom or x4 zoom at closer ranges to do that.
Nice review, this is the one I chose to get when ever I get to that level. I do believe that SPG tanks are best played by being protected or by hiding as much as possible because if found by the enemy most other tanks will polsh them off rather quickly and you can't run away once your found. So they rely on having good positions and spotters. The harder they hit the better because once you fire the enemy knows he has to get moving and so you can't get more than a couple of shots into them before they are gone. That is another reason why I like this one because of the fast reloads. I think it is a winner if your team protects you and you can get good targeting positions.
Oops It is not a SPG I meant to say, tank destroyer. I don't like to get to close to the enemy if I can't get away. SO I usually do support from a distance.
Asijantuntia well, 1 out of 3 battles i played n it, my ammorack got DAMAGED, not destroyed. that is why i always carry a large and small repair kit on the IS3, the small one for the ammo and the large one for anything else

The way jingles play this tank is that he thinks its an all penetrating SOAB so he doesn't bother to shoot at weakspots, but an AMX 50 at that angle? That 150mm of super sloped armor is way more than your 235mm of pen Gnome Master...oh shitz Im off to the salt mines for 5 years.

I’d say yes, with 4-5 of these on one team, where a round of game are played slower than it is now, and light tanks were not as much of a threat, at it’s time, tier 10 tanks had their none buffed armor and HP, and most of the players don’t have tier 10’s, I’ve seen the waffles play aggressively, more near the front lines than on the red line, either played as giant batchat or a second line support, this had 40 km/h speed and it can reach near that speed no problem (soft stats were probably great) it wasn’t as sluggish as the E-100, either way they excel at their job. Today however, i’d still say they’re okay, the massive downside it will have will be it’s long reload and low camo on the kind of short games and less foliages we have today.
It amazes me that after 2 really low damage shots, after tracking the Patton twice, you didn't think to move and shoot the rear hull armor where it's 35 mm thick. Anyway, good job for the video, as usual.
A war anecdote. The M-1 Garand noisily ejects the empty clip so it was a concealment give away . Troopers began to keep empty clips with them, pop them and wait for other guy to poke his head out.

Jingles, HE shells have one main rule like HESH (which is just HE with high penetration), and i am pretty sure you know. Despite HE shell's blast range the simple mechanic in WoT is that if it doesn't hit the hull armor directly but hit the spaced armor (track = spaced armor), then you are likely going to be getting half damage right there, blast range then helps determine how much of that half damage actually register on the side armor) incidentally, HE shells like any shells can ricochet.

In under 10 minutes you explained/confirmed why, on the 8.9 test server, I saw so many RU players of fast mediums and auto-loaders got hell for leather after the new German TDs. I did not play the new TDs at any tier but I did observe and was impressed with them, but again you confirmed, with this video, why I had reservations about them. A yes the terror of old WOT but it was the good terror not the bias wheelie vehicles that are in the game knowadays , this era was imo the best and most enjoyable most of us have experienced in WOT , it was great while we where experienced it , now WOT is nothing but a ghost of its own shadow , destroyed by greed corporates
Jingles, HE works like this. Say that guys tracks are 30mm thick, you have 85mm of pen. You hit his tracks, penetrate and then the game draws a cone to the weakest point (within that cone). That point was his hull, which is idk how thick, but say its 80mm. 85-30=55, so you dont have enough pen to actually go through. Then it just calculates the splash done and there you go.
WG seems to put a pretty big premium on the magazine size. The 128 has 6 shells @8300 kg. 150mm has 4 rounds @ 6100 kg. The 155mm on the French AMX 50 Foch TD has 3 shells @5k kg. I think they also might factor in total ammunition rack size as well as historical weight of the guns.
Jingles keeps saying that E-100s firing HE is ok because they have good HE. Shoots a Patton's gun 4 times and says that the HE is horrible even though its the same "GOOD" HE that the E-100 uses :P Keep up the good work
On the Xbox Edition, I've got a Waffentrager as well, and I LOVE it. My favorite tank in my garage. It's stats are slightly different on the Xbox, at least for the time being (April 2015). The accuracy is a ridiculous 0.28, the best of any gun in the game. It also still carries 6 rounds using its 128 mill. gun, unlike the 5 it now carries on the PC. Not to mention, the shell velocity of the 128 rounds is absurd. It honestly feels like your firing a laser with this thing, or at least the closest thing to it. I love this tank, and while I would be sad if Wargaming nerfed it, at the same time I can totally understand why they would do so.I would also like to point out that the camo value after you've fired the gun on this is worse than the Maus... it's that bad. It would be easier to hide a Jagdpanzer E100 than this thing, so that is a slight balancing factor...
you can see the "dispenser" part that has a ramp into the breach ( 2:20 ) . Autoloader doesn't mean a whole difference system to load shells, its often just a plain clip-like dispenser that rolls shells into the breach for the gunner to just push in if that part is not automated as well
re 22:15 - I can recall that I was driving a death star once and accidentally pushed the fire at the start of the battle. There was a WTE100 with his back on my barrel...nearly 2000dmg immediately. You can bet he loved me more than anything on that day.
Do you know what the Waffletrakor-100 reminds me of? The Valentine AT. The Vally AT has some really good guns (for it's tier) and when you see that it has the Valentine's hull a tier lower you think,"Great, I can bounce all the things!" Then you discover that the gunshield is about 5mm thick.
Jingles, Im not sure if anybody pointed that out, but coated optics stop working in the moment when you activate binoculars, which means you only get view range from one of this items at the time (according to WoT wiki).

All those people who complain that this machine needs to be replaced haven't played this thing. Yes if you run into this tank by surprise its game over; however this tank needs a lot of support . This tank destroyer thrives on tanks who get separated from the pack but if it hunts alone you can kill it quite easily.
Having this tank bounce all four shots off me in an e75 this tank is only op for those who get killed by it while yes this tank is stupidly powerful three or four he shells can and will kill it

The problem on the foch 155 is not just the gun, its also its sick frontal armor, which makes it an autoloader, which can fire its magazine without taking any damage, while rampaging at the front of the battle. If an WTE100 does that, its destroyed before it can unload all shots in the magazine. The most OP thing about the Foch is its armor, not its gun
i might be wrong but i'm pretty sure they don't. description from the wiki for coated optics : "The bonus is applied at all times except when Binoculars are active, making this equipment better suited for aggressive and scouting players."
12,8cm on this thing would have to be one of the most accurate auto-loading guns in game. With 276 pen and from 400 - 560 dmg per shot, it can clean up well when supporting HT's and Mediums. Don't ever go alone in this thing... in a tier 10 match, you don't stand a chance if you get rushed by 3 - 4 tanks when alone
They're not really teasing you with the hull, you can stick it out around corners for people to shoot and bounce off of while hiding the turret. Then while they are reloading, you pop out around the corner and take them out with your six (or four) shots. You can also really throw that weight around against lighter vehicles too, when you need to.
btw jingles, i'm fairly certain coated optics and binocular bonuses DON'T stack. it just takes whichever bonus is highest based on which is active at the time. you still get the advantage of having the best possible view range at all times though.
RE: The superheavy spall liner - It's actually a bit misleading when you look at the ingame description. That extra crew protection only applies to splash from high-explosive shells, not AP/etc rounds.
Jingles, I don't usually comment however I thought I should let you know why the HE did what It did to the side of that Patton. 1st shot: Obvious tracking shot. Tracks absorbed the HE shell and only doing 250+ damage to the patton. 2nd shot: You shot low on the patton again, hitting his tracks and letting all of that splash to go to waste. 3rd shot: You shot much loser to the corecct area this time. however RNG didn't give you enough Pen roll and only splashed the patton. 4th shot hit his gun.
I feel that your absolutely right jingles however there are those one and a million games where I was on El Halluf and I was in a jagdtiger and along side a waffle tractor. The both of us were out number the two of us vs. ten enemies I was able to keep them at length while the waffle tractor pumped them full of lead. And we ended up winning.
To be fair, HESH shell effect on the WT E-100 is just hilarious and i'd suspect anyone who load HE would ruin a WT E-100 day about the same... i nailed a WT E-100 in the turret with an L7 105mm HESH shell and immediately noticed that he ceased killing our team effectively, post battle screen and i found out why... the shot critted almost half of the turret content, crew and equipment alike.. only got one shot into him before he vanished from sight but yeah, just 1 shot to ruin his day
It was definitely a pleasure to see this vid. I had the same exact experience no matter what barrel or ammo i was using. Really thought wtf am i doing so wrong, great to see it wasn't just me. WOT just doesn't make any sense to me at times, can't pen a T62A or a Patton side 2 25m away. Something is seriously wonky.........
On the HE of that 150 - You were shooting at the track region of the M48 patton that counts partially as spaced armor, thus you only doing splash damage on the vehicle. You could have been able to take him out in two shots by going for a cupola shot or just slamming those rounds to his turret.
Though you're right about Foch, this thing looks balanced too me. It is the very definition of a glass cannon. The Foch is just great, with no real drawbacks, so you could call it OP. I think the Waffentrager looks like a good addition, that seems quite balanced. Just do not go one on one with it because, as all auto-loaders, it is going to hurt a lot.
My worst tier X experience in this game: Enemy team had a platoon of these things, all carrying the 150mm, and only carrying HEAT. Plus they were good players on top of that, can't deny that. It was like sealclubbing at tier X.
Actually it was all Jingles with the 150mm, he was aiming center mass and expecting penetration which in the case of most high alpha low pen guns is pointless (more so at T10) And the E-100's tracks were soaking up the HE shell since it is spaced armor.. Plus he could have had a spall liner which would soak up HE damage too. It helps to have another person to conduct controlled tests and no go by public matches since equipment can vary.
Well you know jingles, if you aimed your shots at the amx and Patton, you might have killed them. But you keep using 3rd person. You kept hitting the tracks with HE. How would it go through?
Jingles if you noticed that 183 when he went to the ridge he took two shots one was at the front and the other was at the back when there was nothing behind him
Quickybaby said in his review that he thought the gun fired from a different angle, slightly above the viewer, because that is how the wt e100 is built. He took that into account in adjusting his fire. Did it seem to you, Jingles, that the gun was firing from above where you were looking?
I got called a candy as a in battle chat. In a tiger I stayed high on a ridge. And tagged tanks. We won he still bitched. Unreal big heavyvsliw turret. I know. Where not to go with. A slow turret and slow tank too me no brainer. I've also held tanks a bay shooting over a ridge. In my marv the vaenarvon. And hitting mantle. Working on acurracy. Seeing what happen of I hit optics. Or battle seam. Those tenths you speak of ate they per hundred meters or thousands. It's easy to. Figure out how determine. Groupings thus placement also there's a few dark gun secrets I found long ago. That if I had access to the exotic stuff lol streaming video shooting what a hoot. Getting the itch more tube to watch love your content very helpful
I saw a few of these yesterday afternoon. First was a platoon of them fighting alongside mine in gulag map (I was in a Maus; not so fun) and then later I had the pleasure of not only being shot at but surviving while I was playing my Centurion 7. I even went on to dodge shells and distract a 704 and jgtiger sat next to each other while they were being flanked so that was a good game.
Hey Jingles, I think you have clearly demonstrated that despite what WoT or any one else says about there stats i.e. armor, penetration, damage, etc the whole thing is just completely random. sure all those things still come into play, but I believe there is a high degree of randomness in the game. Not just talking about the RNG damage, but in hits, pen's etc.
actually jingles I think you will find that if you shoot the upper frontal hull of a 50 B you are likely to bounce, since its got some crazy sloping and really not bad stats, while the turret, which you didn't manage to hit, is very lightly armoured I will admit.
I have foch(155), and i played with Waff E100 on tester. Yes, foch can take shoots, buts weak spots are kinda big and 5 sec between shoots is too much for an autoloader. You pointed out good aiming time and dispartion, witch is disastrous for foch.
on the test server I had a Maus match with 20000 potential damage taken and 4000 done, all you gotta do in move, angle well, and wiggle your armor, it does wonders.
If your tier 9-10 firing all 6 rounds you better be damn well sure you can survive after...that vafl e-100 has almost no camo value it dies so quickly in test. the germans had already built the hull and decided to move the engine to the middle and stick an anti-aircraft autoloader gun on it and didn't bother or have the time to make it lighter or make another hull with less armor or whatever . . . i guess. . that all may not be true though its just a guess

Jingles, HE shells have one main rule like HESH (which is just HE with high penetration), and i am pretty sure you know.
Despite HE shell's blast range the simple mechanic in WoT is that if it doesn't hit the hull armor directly but hit the spaced armor (track = spaced armor), then you are likely going to be getting half damage right there, blast range then helps determine how much of that half damage actually register on the side armor)
incidentally, HE shells like any shells can ricochet.
These Waffle Traktors have worse armor rating then my VW Beetle but I still would love to see these come into the xbox version of WOT

I would just want to see the french or Soviets. I have played the German line to tier 5 on the TD, MT and HT lines but for some reason I just can't get into them. I really love my Americans and the Soviets. I'm working on the American auto loaders right now since they just have been added also. I hope the french will be to my liking I'm sure they will be though.

In under 10 minutes you explained/confirmed why, on the 8.9 test server, I saw so many RU players of fast mediums and auto-loaders got hell for leather after the new German TDs. I did not play the new TDs at any tier but I did observe and was impressed with them, but again you confirmed, with this video, why I had reservations about them. As usual an excellent, professional, informative and entertaining video. Take care and I'm looking forward to that second DCC video too.

Jingles, HE works like this. Say that guys tracks are 30mm thick, you have 85mm of pen. You hit his tracks, penetrate and then the game draws a cone to the weakest point (within that cone). That point was his hull, which is idk how thick, but say its 80mm. 85-30=55, so you dont have enough pen to actually go through. Then it just calculates the splash done and there you go.

WG seems to put a pretty big premium on the magazine size. The 128 has 6 shells @8300 kg. 150mm has 4 rounds @ 6100 kg. The 155mm on the French AMX 50 Foch TD has 3 shells @5k kg. I think they also might factor in total ammunition rack size as well as historical weight of the guns.
Jingles keeps saying that E-100s firing HE is ok because they have good HE. Shoots a Patton's gun 4 times and says that the HE is horrible even though its the same "GOOD" HE that the E-100 uses :P Keep up the good work

On the Xbox Edition, I've got a Waffentrager as well, and I LOVE it. My favorite tank in my garage. It's stats are slightly different on the Xbox, at least for the time being (April 2015). The accuracy is a ridiculous 0.28, the best of any gun in the game. It also still carries 6 rounds using its 128 mill. gun, unlike the 5 it now carries on the PC. Not to mention, the shell velocity of the 128 rounds is absurd. It honestly feels like your firing a laser with this thing, or at least the closest thing to it. I love this tank, and while I would be sad if Wargaming nerfed it, at the same time I can totally understand why they would do so.I would also like to point out that the camo value after you've fired the gun on this is worse than the Maus... it's that bad. It would be easier to hide a Jagdpanzer E100 than this thing, so that is a slight balancing factor...
you can see the "dispenser" part that has a ramp into the breach ( 2:20 ) . Autoloader doesn't mean a whole difference system to load shells, its often just a plain clip-like dispenser that rolls shells into the breach for the gunner to just push in if that part is not automated as well

re 22:15 - I can recall that I was driving a death star once and accidentally pushed the fire at the start of the battle. There was a WTE100 with his back on my barrel...nearly 2000dmg immediately.

The frontal armor of the AMX 50B is actually 170mm thick and quite well angled - not a surprise that you bounced Jingles.
Do you know what the Waffletrakor-100 reminds me of? The Valentine AT. The Vally AT has some really good guns (for it's tier) and when you see that it has the Valentine's hull a tier lower you think,"Great, I can bounce all the things!" Then you discover that the gunshield is about 5mm thick.
Jingles, Im not sure if anybody pointed that out, but coated optics stop working in the moment when you activate binoculars, which means you only get view range from one of this items at the time (according to WoT wiki).
This tanks' turret is like getting all the weakspots of the tanks in wot, put in one tank.

All those people who complain that this machine needs to be replaced haven't played this thing. Yes if you run into this tank by surprise its game over; however this tank needs a lot of support . This tank destroyer thrives on tanks who get separated from the pack but if it hunts alone you can kill it quite easily.

The problem on the foch 155 is not just the gun, its also its sick frontal armor, which makes it an autoloader, which can fire its magazine without taking any damage, while rampaging at the front of the battle. If an WTE100 does that, its destroyed before it can unload all shots in the magazine.

This looks so good on PC. Currently a newbie on the xbox 360. Great game but very keen to take your money
12,8cm on this thing would have to be one of the most accurate auto-loading guns in game. With 276 pen and from 400 - 560 dmg per shot, it can clean up well when supporting HT's and Mediums. Don't ever go alone in this thing... in a tier 10 match, you don't stand a chance if you get rushed by 3 - 4 tanks when alone
They're not really teasing you with the hull, you can stick it out around corners for people to shoot and bounce off of while hiding the turret. Then while they are reloading, you pop out around the corner and take them out with your six (or four) shots. You can also really throw that weight around against lighter vehicles too, when you need to.
btw jingles, i'm fairly certain coated optics and binocular bonuses DON'T stack. it just takes whichever bonus is highest based on which is active at the time.
you still get the advantage of having the best possible view range at all times though.

RE: The superheavy spall liner - It's actually a bit misleading when you look at the ingame description. That extra crew protection only applies to splash from high-explosive shells, not AP/etc rounds.

I don't usually comment however I thought I should let you know why the HE did what It did to the side of that Patton.
1st shot: Obvious tracking shot. Tracks absorbed the HE shell and only doing 250+ damage to the patton.
2nd shot: You shot low on the patton again, hitting his tracks and letting all of that splash to go to waste.
3rd shot: You shot much loser to the corecct area this time. however RNG didn't give you enough Pen roll and only splashed the patton.
4th shot hit his gun.
I feel that your absolutely right jingles however there are those one and a million games where I was on El Halluf and I was in a jagdtiger and along side a waffle tractor. The both of us were out number the two of us vs. ten enemies I was able to keep them at length while the waffle tractor pumped them full of lead. And we ended up winning.
To be fair, HESH shell effect on the WT E-100 is just hilarious and i'd suspect anyone who load HE would ruin a WT E-100 day about the same...
i nailed a WT E-100 in the turret with an L7 105mm HESH shell and immediately noticed that he ceased killing our team effectively, post battle screen and i found out why... the shot critted almost half of the turret content, crew and equipment alike.. only got one shot into him before he vanished from sight but yeah, just 1 shot to ruin his day
It was definitely a pleasure to see this vid. I had the same exact experience no matter what barrel or ammo i was using. Really thought wtf am i doing so wrong, great to see it wasn't just me. WOT just doesn't make any sense to me at times, can't pen a T62A or a Patton side 2 25m away. Something is seriously wonky.........
On the HE of that 150 - You were shooting at the track region of the M48 patton that counts partially as spaced armor, thus you only doing splash damage on the vehicle.
You could have been able to take him out in two shots by going for a cupola shot or just slamming those rounds to his turret.
Though you're right about Foch, this thing looks balanced too me. It is the very definition of a glass cannon. The Foch is just great, with no real drawbacks, so you could call it OP.
I think the Waffentrager looks like a good addition, that seems quite balanced. Just do not go one on one with it because, as all auto-loaders, it is going to hurt a lot.
My worst tier X experience in this game: Enemy team had a platoon of these things, all carrying the 150mm, and only carrying HEAT. Plus they were good players on top of that, can't deny that.
It was like sealclubbing at tier X.
Actually it was all Jingles with the 150mm, he was aiming center mass and expecting penetration which in the case of most high alpha low pen guns is pointless (more so at T10)
And the E-100's tracks were soaking up the HE shell since it is spaced armor.. Plus he could have had a spall liner which would soak up HE damage too.
It helps to have another person to conduct controlled tests and no go by public matches since equipment can vary.
To think that, five years later, this tank is still on console in all its unnerfed glory...

Well you know jingles, if you aimed your shots at the amx and Patton, you might have killed them. But you keep using 3rd person. You kept hitting the tracks with HE. How would it go through?

Jingles if you noticed that 183 when he went to the ridge he took two shots one was at the front and the other was at the back when there was nothing behind him
Quickybaby said in his review that he thought the gun fired from a different angle, slightly above the viewer, because that is how the wt e100 is built. He took that into account in adjusting his fire. Did it seem to you, Jingles, that the gun was firing from above where you were looking?

I got called a candy as a in battle chat. In a tiger I stayed high on a ridge. And tagged tanks. We won he still bitched. Unreal big heavyvsliw turret. I know. Where not to go with. A slow turret and slow tank too me no brainer. I've also held tanks a bay shooting over a ridge. In my marv the vaenarvon. And hitting mantle. Working on acurracy. Seeing what happen of I hit optics. Or battle seam. Those tenths you speak of ate they per hundred meters or thousands. It's easy to. Figure out how determine. Groupings thus placement also there's a few dark gun secrets I found long ago. That if I had access to the exotic stuff lol streaming video shooting what a hoot. Getting the itch more tube to watch love your content very helpful
I saw a few of these yesterday afternoon. First was a platoon of them fighting alongside mine in gulag map (I was in a Maus; not so fun) and then later I had the pleasure of not only being shot at but surviving while I was playing my Centurion 7. I even went on to dodge shells and distract a 704 and jgtiger sat next to each other while they were being flanked so that was a good game.
Hey Jingles, I think you have clearly demonstrated that despite what WoT or any one else says about there stats i.e. armor, penetration, damage, etc the whole thing is just completely random. sure all those things still come into play, but I believe there is a high degree of randomness in the game. Not just talking about the RNG damage, but in hits, pen's etc.

actually jingles I think you will find that if you shoot the upper frontal hull of a 50 B you are likely to bounce, since its got some crazy sloping and really not bad stats, while the turret, which you didn't manage to hit, is very lightly armoured I will admit.

I have foch(155), and i played with Waff E100 on tester. Yes, foch can take shoots, buts weak spots are kinda big and 5 sec between shoots is too much for an autoloader. You pointed out good aiming time and dispartion, witch is disastrous for foch.
jingles the reason you're not damaging the WTF100 with HEAT, is that the armour on it is just one giant spacing
on the test server I had a Maus match with 20000 potential damage taken and 4000 done, all you gotta do in move, angle well, and wiggle your armor, it does wonders.
If your tier 9-10 firing all 6 rounds you better be damn well sure you can survive after...that vafl e-100 has almost no camo value it dies so quickly in test. But your big attraction is just pure damage to get the xp and kills. Its a "monster kill" tank for teh lols. Enjoying the videos Jingles, Happy Halloween

Well, it might be also because of this new change (from 8.9 changelog): "Removed the rule for HEAT shells that excludes ricochet if the shell's calibre exceeds the armour thickness by 3 or more times."
Jingles, when you were comparing the Foch 155 to the WT E-100 with the 150, you seemed to forget to mention the fact that the Foch 155 has way more penetration.
