A weapon's expert can also be defined as someone who's an expert in the usage of weapons which both of these guys would be more on the side of the usage side of expert than the technical knowledge side. For example, there are tons of people in the youtube comments section who may be more knowledgeable about the firearms and accessories being shown, but give these guys a few minutes to familiarize themselves with these weapons and I bet they'd be a lot better at putting people in body bags using those weapons than the vast majority of the people hating on these guys.

Like, I can be an expert in Medieval Japan, that doesn’t mean I know how to fight with a katana, nor would you expect me. But you would expect me to know the different shoguns, and how samurai armor evolved through those different eras

Flip up magnifiers have been a common design for years.
The HK416 is a short stroke piston rifle, not a Direct impingement rifle like the M4. The 416 is a 5.56 rifle, the 417 is 308.
I'm very surprised you guys have never seen the Surefire 60rd stanags. They are reliable. AKs and ARs are both accurate and reliable.
Also flat top rmr mounting has been common for years on ACOGs, Elcans, LPVOs etc.
...Jesus Christ. The Ak 12 is a 5.45x39 updated version of the AK74M. Honestly it amazes how little you guys know about this stuff.
Red dot sights are not going to be uniquely affected by recoil. The fact that you say that makes me wonder if you've ever shot with a red dot. Glass quality, battery life, moa size is what matters.
I don't mean to be disrespectful but there's just so many inaccuracies for dudes claiming to be firearms specialists

It’s interesting to hear how different it is with special forces that I worked with recently and those in the 2010s. The SF guys I worked with in Afghanistan in 2019 pretty much had their pick of what weapon and what attachments they put on weapons. It was the same for us. Our chain of command was like, “you can put whatever you want on your weapon system as long as you don’t break it and you take all that stuff off when you turn it back in.” This from a regular infantry battalion command in a NG unit. Our chain of command is a big believer in it should be “shooter’s choice” or “shooter’s comfort”. On deployment my M4A1 had a Gen 1 trijicon ACOG, tac light, peq15, vertical foregrip, bipod, canted iron sights and was painted in a desert camo. Everything but the ACOG and peq were my own additions. As long as we’re in the field we are free to use our own gear and weapon attachments that we feel most comfortable with as far as our command is concerned. As for the game, I’ve been playing it a long time and the general game is awesome. I just recently got into the mods in this video and it just makes it that much better.

Even police agencies have pretty much eliminated them in favor of rifles plus there’s been a huge rise in civilian body armor purchases. Believe sales were up 400% in 2020. Typically though socom gets their hands on a lot of gear unavailable to the conventional forces so it’s a little surprising these guys aren’t at least more familiar with some of these guns particularly the 416 because that’s been in service since 2004

    • @barrierloss
      @barrierloss 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@Fishy Vagina Something like the MP7 would be even more rare for these guys to run than other SMGs. The MP7 is one of a couple Personal Defense Weapons (PDWs)., along with the P90. They were developed along NATO standards that were created in response to the proliferation of body armor, and especially in response to Russia making body armor a standard piece of kit for their infantry. So essentially this new subclass of weapon was designed as a potential response to Russian attack or invasion of NATO countries. This isn't something that ever really happened which is why PDW weapons like the MP7 and P90 have rarely seen any actual military use.

Yup - we are using big mags in Sanstorm just for the fact that on our community servers we have large number of bots coming (sometime 50 per wave / 3 waves, so we need a lot of bullets) in large groups or in conga line. The drawback in game as in real life is the longer reload time. During my military service I've tested AKM 70 bullets drums (we were instructed not to fill in more than 40). The feel is like a small reduction in recoil. With 70 they drums were hard to manipulate and carry, even the massive RPK guy on our group used to use the RPK 40 bullet mag. instead).

Hey Israel, hi Lars! I’m an armory tech at a gun club here in Minnesota for goin on 12 years now? Jesus, I need to sit down for a second. Anyway! I thought I’d answer a few of your questions about the gun-tech side of your video, in order of appearance, of course. This is all off the top of my head so if I get any details wrong, feel free to correct me.
The Heckler and Koch HK416 is functionally identical to the Colt M4 family except for one key detail: the proprietary gas-operated short-stroke piston similar to the HK G36-a refinement to a similar system introduced by the Armalite AR-18 in 1963 but that’s not here nor there.
The short-stroke piston lets the rifle fire regardless of detritus that might otherwise foul the gas tube-dirt, sand, mud, water, slime, bad paint jobs, tax documents, bad language, my dad-if the safety is off and there are rounds in the magazine, the HK416 *will fire* when you pull the trigger.
Delta Force and HK collaborated on the HK416 at the behest of Delta Force R&D’s Larry Vickers in the ‘90s-the exact timeline is a little nebulous but I’m guessing it was after the Gulf War, the design parameters specifically called for a carbine for use in close quarters.
Delta liked the gun so much it replaced their M4s completely in the mid-00s, I *think* it was in the ‘03-‘05 territory-the vets on staff say we had boots in Iraq already-and DEVGRU SEALs have been cranking out Frankenstein variants every few years for shits and giggles. Various law-enforcement agencies in the US have adopted it since, usually modified versions of the civilian HK556 model.
What really cemented the HK416’s rep was when the goddamn French Foreign Legion adopted a design variant-the HK416F, guess what the F stands for-and did away with the FAMAS family in 2011, followed by the rest of the French military in 2016. Its a *damn* good gun.
The AK-12 is the fifth generation upgrade to the AK pattern family, the previous one being the AK-103 in 2003 (which you’ll see later in the video) that replaced the AK-74 from 1974.
You might detect a pattern here.
The AK-12 is chambered in 5.45x39 Russian, the Soviet answer to the 5.56 NATO, while the AK-15 slings the notorious 7.62 Russian the original AK-47 and later AKM ran.
The in-game model of Insurgency: Sandstorm and most other video games is actually the 2011 AK-200 testing variant, which is boxier than the final product, probably to distinguish it from the regular AKs. IRL, the final AK-12 is based on the AK-400 testing variant, with a free floating barrel and the handguard is attached to the receiver and to a revised more rigid and non-removable gas tube, allowing the barrel to remain relatively isolated and flex and vibrate unrestricted for increased accuracy. In the “legacy” models, the lower handguard of the rifle was mounted directly on the barrel with a stamped steel handguard retainer, so the recoil carries into the handguard and affects the rifle’s zero.
The M110A1 is the game’s copyright safe-ish name for the Army and Marine Corps M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System (SASS), chambered in 7.62 NATO, an evolution of sorts to the SR-25 by KAC and Eugene Stoner, before his passing. Another weapon that came about from lessons learned in the Gulf War, Israel might be familiar with it as the Mk 11 Mod 0, SOCOM’s designation, developed in 1998 and adopted by SOCOM in 2000.
The AK-103 is to the AK-74 what the M4A1 is to the M4. Functionally it’s the same as the post-Cold War AK-74M, streamlined with polymer furniture for reduced weight and other quality of life features that I’m not immediately familiar with.

The "adjustment" on the side of the EOTech and Aimpoint, there at the beginning, is a G33 3x magnifier that you can flip over onto the top rail.
EDIT: Ten seconds later you finally saw it in action, BUT the HK416 is a piston driven gun (still in 5.56) rather than using a DI system. I have some experience with a BCM M4 CQBR build, but I went with a Holosun micro red dot/magnifier for budget purposes. PMAGs are also where its at.
Thumb-over-bore grip has come around mostly due to light/laser activation switches being on the top rail, as well as generally increased understanding of body mechanics.
