Insurgency Sandstorm is probably my favorite tactical shooter. It's simple and easy to get into but also complex enough for unique tactics and weapons.
Except the gameplay is literally lone team members/enemies walking around the maps by themselves and hiding in corners trying to be "tactical" when in reality, that's boring as shit, it'd be way more fun if there were more players each round, the maps feel so fucking empty even with a full server, couple more players and more teamwork related classes would make IS great

It is a fantastic tactical shooter. But we need a game that uses Sandstorm physics in an open world shooter. Like a game based on Afghanistan or Iraq. Or short: open world game based on historical events using gory body physics by bullet and that's infinitely replayable
@@penisman5000 If you play Sandstorm with smokes and team work, these campers aren't really a problem. Explosives and Radio support usually can solve most camping problems. (Depending on the map of course)
With most of the guns, you can reload with one in the chamber to get a full magazine "plus one", so you'll be able to shoot 31 rounds with a 30 round magazine. This trick does not work with the M3 "Grease Gun" though because its an open bolt gun, it doesn't keep one in the chamber, bullets are only chambered (and then instantly fired) when the trigger is pulled. Really great attention to detail in this game.
Detail? If your magazine has dirt or sand in it, you're only going to load 28 rounds and those belt-fed machine guns are going to have a jam after 1 or 2 belts. And the air support will blow up a whole lot of nothing because it's mostly a distraction. It's really only good for one target. You can't wipe a whole team unless they're all in the same place
@@durtydean8430 no it's a regular buy and play. There are some cosmetics for sale but only a couple that you don't get for free and those were the ones I didn't want anyway. I paid a lot I think I got a bundle? But I regret nothing. No fps plays like this on console. If you want something slower, more serious, gritty, tactical smarter and unforgiving this is it. I hope this game gets supported enough for the devs to give us more in the future.

I have almost 1500 hours on this game and its starting to lose its magic... Problem is it still gets so many things right compared to other shooters like. 1. The sound of gunshots is the best ive ever heard in any game. 2. The voice actors are epic 3. Being able to cook nades and just the general nade-play 4. Proximity chat 😍 5. Shotgun pellets not magically vanishing beyond 40 meters 6. TTK 7. Firefight (by far the best mode) Some things i wish it had to be the ultimate game... 1. Destrucable walls n shit 2. Removale of the goofy skins ( this game was better before they added the damn skullmasks and and red camo gun skins 3. Making 2 firefight modes (like it used to be back in the day when we haad high palyernumber regular FF and competitive 5v5) 4. Being able to make squads 5. Some more voices ( more important to me than endless skins) 6. Maps maps maps 7. maybe a capture the flag modes (more for nostalgic reasons since no game has this anymore)
I like the skill mask cosmetics. Have you never seen pictures of real iraqi rebels wearing them? The paid cosmetics can be over the top. That's usually why I just stick the vanilla gear cuz it looks more authentic and gritty.
When playing as demolition, you should use your undermounted grenade launcher instead of your rocket launcher when clearing rooms. The rocket launcher is much more effective at destroying vehicles, while the grenade launchers are better for anti-personnel use.
Generally speaking I agree with you, but I could have sworn the rocket launchers had a bigger kill radius, thus making one well placed rocket more effective at room clearing compared to grenade launchers. Edit: correct me if I’m wrong lol
If youve been on the fence about this game, get it. Trust me. I was the same way. Bought the game for 40 bucks (that's full price I'm pretty sure) once you learn the maps a lil bit it's ridiculous how much fun this is. The best part is the LOBBIES

A friend of mine practically made me buy this on Xbox awhile ago when it was on sale. I've been loving it ever since. I haven't touched PvP, but God, playing this game, no matter what is just freaking amazing
Fun fact, if you get off with that 50 sniper it'll make your ears ring in game. Attention to detail on insurgency is crazy. In real life, firing that thing is like having a little controlled bomb go off right next to you... shooting too much will make your nose run and ring your bell...how do I know, got to shoot one when I was in the military when we had extra rounds for it at the range.

Yes it definitely handles too easy. Should take longer to sling it and unholster the handgun too. One of this games few oversights. Perhaps an option to quick draw and completely drop the rifle, like the reloads??

Dude the spectating cuts is such a cool idea to show kills after. A lot of times in this game you just see the kill & keep movin but seeing different vantage points & carnage from different angles was fuckin awesome nice work dude!
the beauty of sandstorm only shines after you play it long enough so then you know the maps really well, and then you can just play around like fluid. there's no "meta" in this game so by fluid I mean, play with 50cal, play m16 cqc with smoke and nades, play rpg and explosive grenade launchers, take AS VAL no armor and no extra gear and be a cheeki breeki ninja, it's so much fun when it all works out:)))

Well, you can't fly with a parachute or walk around like a tank with an infinite shield or a hundred armor plates like it covers your arms and legs. Adrenaline shots don't revive the wounded, it only keeps you alive long enough to get to the hospital
I played COD from 15-18 years old. Then played Battlefield from 18-26ish years old. Now, I can't even go back to either game because of Sandstorm. It's too good, challenging and forces you to be strategic to be successful. I love it. There's a few things they need to fix, but all in all, fantastic game.
Never fired .50 caliber rifle. My time in the army as unit armorer allowed me time with different weapons though. Once at a range, got to help "empty" the ammo at end of the range day. This range... .50 caliber MG. Targets were paper on plywood. Plywood got cut in half quite easily.

Because sometimes terrorists and commies (not a whole lot of difference there...) sometimes could use a long nap, quickly and aggressively.

Firefight is definitely not the best mode lmao, id say Push is. Plus firefight lobbies are basically impossible to find

I was so depressed when I got BF2042 on the launch day. Getting this game (Sandstorm) at 15$ was one of the best things I could do to be happy again.
The gun audio is absolutely on point. Especially the .50
Sound design is incredible in this game. All guns sound different depending on surrounding and location.

They should make the .50 settling down animation seems more struggling so it looks less slow makes would be cool and understadable with. Gun that big
