- Spec-ops, Israel and Cameron are back on Experts React, and this time they’ll be reviewing the latest gameplay from “Squad”. From the tactics, to gear, to communication they’ll tell us what is realistic and what is made up.
“Squad” is an FPS set in the current modern-day environment, and a squad-based warfare game. A single match consists of two belligerent factions, each divided among smaller squads that could have a maximum of nine players.
Each squad is made up of individual classes elected by the individual players. Available classes include medic, combat engineer, anti-tank specialists and various types of riflemen.
A squad of players are led by one squad leader who can communicate with other allied squad leaders and construct fire bases and defensive emplacements like crew-served weapons and sandbags.
Since the game is set to be really realistic, you’ll not often even see the person who’s shooting at you, unlike games like say CoD where you often run and meet your enemies at the corner of the street.

Can you guys have them look at America army proving grounds
The way smoke works in Squad:
Squad Leader carries 4 smokes: 2 white 1 red 1 blue (usually used for concealment but color would usually be used for chopper pickups)
Grenadier carries 4 40mm smokes: 2 white 1 red 1 blue as well
The rest of the role assignments might not carry smoke, but if they do it's 1 or 2 white smoke
* *IDEA* * Cameron and Israel coach two separate Squad teams and they watch them go head to head in a scenario and see what squad wins!
Damn thy is a very very good idea but the people at gameology will enever come up with that or see your comment and I am pretty sure one of the guys stopped attending the show lately

When you call for mortars or fire support, you're actually communicating with real players that are in charge of the mortars and you have to give them coordinates to walk fire in. It's dope as shit. I was in charge of a mortar squad once and we absolutely wrecked the enemy team until they sent a squad to come eat our lunch. The biggest thing is trying to balance laying fire without running out before your logi truck comes back to resupply your squad
We usually do one smoke and switch to HE not to give our team cover but to obscure the enemy. Have each crew pinpoint a different corner of the base and walk the rounds towards the center. If it doesn't kill it'll lag them out.

@@proximitive3872 By landing a trio of smokes and explosions some computers tend to not be able to render it properly and causes massive spikes of frame drop. Tends to make their aim a lot worse.
@@ParrishT3 never had frame drops tho. People would also be complaining in local and radio if that were to happen
@@ParrishT3 I had karmakut once drop mortar, artillery, and airstrike on my pos months ago. Never had lag on that, also the people there were not experiencing lag

The wildest thing about squad is that it’s strangers, and there is no pre mission brief. As I squad lead more, I’m learning more and more how to get total strangers on board with a plan, in a stressful environment. It’s a trip.

As TL its up to you to co-ordinate with other TLs and come up with a mission brief. Where is everyone going, who's got what roles, what to do in certain situations. The REALLY good players always have plans in place for most situations and can come up with something on the fly in extreme situations.
yeah. I usually SL but yesterday we were like 8 SL and it looked like I was talking to myself. New players don't have enough experience to SL so they just wait until someone takes in charge. It would be cool if we could get some briefing before mission.
@@AelOk17 dude I'm 300 hours in and I still don't want SL. Hell, I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of 3 roles: AT, med, and marksman. I'll give it a few more hundred until I try that lol
It’s a great tool to practice developing a plan, communicating a plan, adapting a plan during execution, and (hardest part I think) taking the brunt of a plan that didn’t go well. Dare I say it’s a great leadership tool to the extent of practicing being decisive and owning the outcome of your decisions. I love playing as the squad leader. Very rewarding for people that want to work as a team.

The smokes aren't typically used in a color coded fashion. Though when they are its white for cover, red for marking artillery and blue for friendly marks like landing zones, positions etc.
Depending on the SOPs. I think its similar in NATO staged countrys, but everyone got little specials to work with
But in the game the colour does not have a specific meaning.

Squad has been my addiction for the past 5 years ever since the Marines told me No and to come back in 6mos-1yr... Even my Field Op brother in-law is now addicted. I hope they play it for themselves 1 day, made by Vets FOR vets! Great game!

I love these guys. They bring their expertise while remembering it's still just a game, no matter what game they react to.

I know they were infantry, but it'd be cool to see their reactions to some armor gameplay, or maybe some highlights where armor supports infantry in a push or something.

Love how a single person can change the outcome of the match. I play hat or at and destroy tanks or helis its satisfying for me and good for my team.

The main "issue" with squad is that its very hard for 50 randoms to come up with a good tactic and coordinate in 4 minutes of staging. But when you have a squad of people that knows what they are doing its super fun. Squad leaders needs to be able to read the map and the game in order to predict whats needs to be done in the next five or so minutes because it takes a lot of time to move troops around. Squad greatly rewards coordination and team work but its also very hard to pull it off unless you practice together.

I have like 400+ hours in squad. I served as a combat engineer and got out in 2013 and I can say this game has a very big military and veteran community.
Love the content. In squad grenadiers spawn with 3 colors of smoke for marking but most people use it for concealment like you said
If you com the air support using red smoke often means you want them to strike there but in a pinch you can use either without telling air and you’ll be fine.
The smokes in that specific situation were just being used for concealment, also the TH-camr playing in the footage is KARMAKUT.. AMAZING CONTENT ON HIS CHANNEL!
Occasionally red smoke in Squad is for Helo landings or supplies

These guys rock, a few of the things that work IRL dont work in Squad that much but they really have such good observations. Would love to see some of Official Squad Championship reacted to, its just so fun to see the 500iq plays comp squad gets up to. Think the boys would get a kick out of it

The best part is from what I've heard (i don't have squad only because my potato PC can't run it but when I get a better one I'm getting this asap) is that it's with complete strangers, most of the squads are usually randoms, from what I've heard the team communication is so great that you can sometimes lead complete strangers into fighting like of they trained together their entire lives.
You guys should react the the movie Mosul, I watched it a while ago and it was pretty "realistic" definitely should watch it

Ground branch is stellar. Old school devs bringing back what it means to be a shooter. I play it a couple times a week just to keep my reflexes with bots set on headshot only.
