  • In this video I show you how I made this piece of terrain for wargaming. This piece is made of cardboard, paper and balsa wood, so it is very easy and accessible to make!
    I made lots of mistakes in this build and I'm not overly impressed with the final result, but making mistakes is how we learn and get better! This project definitely is not for the impatient (aka me LOL).
    Let me know what you'd like to see me make next. Thanks so much for watching!

    For those wanting to search online to source the "granny grid" (which, since I started using as it was originally designed as a teenager always makes me roll my eyes), the "correct" description is "plastic canvas". It's used with yarn to take needlepoint into three dimensional projects. I've used it to make bags, boxes, creatures, furniture, even a castle or three.
    It also comes in different colors, so if you find some difficulties painting it, try one of the colored options.

    It looks very good! Also the sheer amount of joy that exuded from checking the size with a mini.

    You should consider buying or making a texture roller for your spackle. Makes adding texture a breeze. Another option would be to take an old pencil and remove the eraser. Then crush it into a brick shape. Makes a quick easy stamp to add texture as well. You can also wait until the spackle is tacky and you can roll on a foil ball. Different texture options. Tbh last option is a little dodgy with spackle would not bother with that option myself, just throwing it out as a suggestion.

      Oh cool! I’ll defo have to look into a texture roller, you can use them with clay too I hear which would be handy! Thanks for the tip 😊

    Hey, cool to see another crafting channel. Took some inspiration from techniques you use (smearing the clay on and adding texture for instance). One tip back: you seem to paint very dry. This is so much more effort compared to putting some more paint on your brush and also it makes your brush last longer in general :D

    Another dopé build. If you can't get a texture roller you can take a larger white eraser and carve a brick or cobblestone effect into it with like a pen or a pencil. Works great for softer materials like spackle or caulking.

      Oooo okay and then what, stamp the eraser in the spackle?

    • @steve-ru9sy
      @steve-ru9sy 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@caitlout yeah. You can wet it a little bit and that will stop the spackle from sticking to the eraser.
