    Hi, I've been a custom seamstress for more than 40 years, I make dancewear. Never made a quilt. Great granddaughter due in April, so I used this pattern. Was easy and worked out beautifully. Thank you sew much!

    • @Ronibearable
      @Ronibearable 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They were not "the most creative", they are copying others as this is not their pattern. There are many of these blocks out there all you have to do is search YT for 10 min quilt block and find lots of of these from years ago. And some similar ones that are called 5 min quilt blocks. th-cam.com/video/TIxl3af3lzY/w-d-xo.html. th-cam.com/video/ZbTHlGGKMPM/w-d-xo.html. They really should credit others in their videos.

Following you, I have been quilting most of my life, off and on, I am 69 years old and have done many complicated quilts but, I much like doing smaller quilts that I can do and get them done, and I am doing simple patterns. Very old block pattern we called "3D Bow Ties" when I learned it. We used our 4in. juvenile scraps, hand pieced at meetings and on bus trips. Made some beautiful projects for local hospital. This version is supersized with a little extra on the plain corner. This version works well for larger scale prints. Enjoy!

    This is an oldie but goodie. I cannot recall the author's name but she did a fabulous book with all her patterns using this method. The added block, while it is a square, has 45 degree edges. She would roll the edges over themselves and stitch them down. Her work was wonderful. There is a demonstration of this at a national quilt expo on YouTUBE... just can't remember her name.

    • @heatherward8119

    Zack....I heard you say that the blocks are 40 X 40 and 2 would make an 80 X 80....Please correct that... That would make it 40 X 80..... It would take 4 blocks to make an 80 X 80... I really like this pattern and is simple to make..... But remind the quilters that they need 4 blocks to make it 80 X 80......... Thank you for all the videos that you post for us and a Big Thank You for the Free patterns.... 😍

    You really should credit the creators of a block, or indicate that you are not the original creator. These blocks have been on TH-cam for 10 years. And likely around prior to that.
