    I’ve had a herniated disc for the last 4 months. I couldn’t walk properly for 3 of those months and I have been in constant excruciating pain. I couldn’t do anything, I couldn’t sit, couldn’t walk long distances, I couldn’t work, I couldn’t sleep and I couldn’t enjoy my life. I spent countless hours lying on the floor in a combination of pain and feelings of hopelessness. Today was the first time I woke up in the morning without a stabbing pain and the first day that I haven’t taken any painkillers. I just wanted to say that your videos really helped to educate me and gave me a bit of hope when I was at my lowest. So thank you for everything and keep making these videos 🙏

      @@navindesignsI'm thinking a combination of things that Will has shared in his channel. I'm in the same boat myself. Plenty of days where I'm sinking. Combination of therapy, exercise, and pain medication got be out of 8/10 pain. Lifestyle change by far is the biggest factor that's helping keep it at 2/10 pain. Eating right, sleeping right, conscious about posture, and small tips like these in the video. Still can't sit comfortably though but I hope in time I can.

    I’ve had a L5-S1 since 2013 and still suffer daily. I’ve tried chiropractors! Physios and currently take strong pain relief. Ive had denervation and L3-S1 branch block which hasn’t had a meaningful impact. NHS no longer do operations for these types of issues, or so I was told. I’ve given up hope now in all honesty.

    • @emilywaters6750

      Same here. Get more relief from the pain bend forward or doing things like Child’s Pose. It feels like this takes pressure off of the nerve maybe? But is it doing me harm in the long term? Standing or sitting uo straight and doing the reverse c feels much more tender

    • @milesyounghamilton
      @milesyounghamilton 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@emilywaters6750 I am making some progress now and what I have realised is that you need to respond to your pain triggers and not try and push through. Experiment with different sized Mckinsey back supports, use what doesn’t give you pain and don’t sit down for too long at a time. Stand up, go for short walks and if you find decompression helps do that a few times during the day. Personally I find a bit of decompression helps but not bending over, there are lots of exercises you can do but lying on a bed with a pillow under your stomach is a good one.

      9 months since my disc herniation I have realised that my spine doesn’t like being in extension too much. If this works, keep doing it, if it makes your pain worse it’s probably pushing your spine too far into extension. Every back is different and you need to do what relieves your pain. Experiment with different sized lumbar supports. I bought all the McKinsey lumbar rolls and worked out that I need some support but not too much. I also find sleeping with a sleep roll helpful at night, but I need it positioned right

    3:25- Will, at 3:25, the proper curve of the lower spine only looks like a "reverse" C shape from your perspective at that moment, as you are holding the prop and looking towards the camera. But from the perspective of the viewer, it is the opposite, and it indeed looks to be "C-shaped", and not a "reverse C", (as you see it from your side). Just something to be aware of, as you narrate the video. Perhaps describing S1/L5/L4/L3 as properly curving towards the belly button would be more unequivocal, rather than relating the curve to the letter C. No matter what your perspective, everyone knows where their belly button is. Or at least, I would like to think so!
    Thank you for your videos, they are very, very helpful, and greatly appreciated!

    • @dipanshuagrawal6659
      @dipanshuagrawal6659 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its not about how long?
      It all depends on intensity,
      bcz riding may further injure spine.
      Also the golden rule is, as soon as you feel discomfort and pain stop that activity immediately.
      If you have to ride, then use lumbar belt + tight you tummy inwards as it engage abdominal muscles and stabilize the spine reducing chance of injury + getting good posture.
      Also from how much time do you have disc bulge?
