I don't have a children, but watching your vlogs helps me so much during nights like tonight. I battle with severe Anxiety/PTSD (and depression, as a lovely tag-along to the ptsd) and i'm having a pretty rough time of things lately, tonight being a little bit extra rough. Watching your vlogs helps me center, balance and restore myself again. Such a wonderful, down to earth, open, humble family full of love and respect for one another. Bailey, especially, puts such a smile on my face as she reminds me so much of myself when I was younger, she has a real golden soul. It might sound silly to some, but when my anxiety and "doom and gloom" darkness of depression is whirling around within my mind, trying to snuff any hope and joy, watching your vlogs helps make my spark burn just a little bit stronger, helping me fight through the dark. So, thank you. I'm certain there are lots of other viewers who can totally relate. Never ever change x
Wow, I'm in the same exact boat as you. I suffer from pretty severe PTSD, anxiety, and depression as well (especially lately) and their vlogs always make me feel more at peace. I hope things get better for you soon. ❤
I too suffer from these same diagnoses, and one time Jessica tweeted about how she has the kids say “my name is ______ and I can do hard things!” And honestly I say it to myself ALL the time and man do I get strength from that! I’m so grateful for that tweet and those words!
I would love a medical update on Luke! Since he was born we haven't heard much about his brain and if possible would you guys share updates about that soon! Thank you xoxo take care!
Me Myself, and I I don’t know how long you’ve been watching their videos but before Luke was bornThey had to go see a specialist and stuff because of some things that were shown on a couple ultrasounds
I love how Christopher took care of Luke for the day BY HIMSELF. Like in my family, the men dont do that. I love how he's confident in himself and does anything for his family. 👍
I think when you're on kid number five, you got it all handled. My dad was always hands on, so I'm always shocked to hear that people didn't have the same upbringing.
Exactly! I know it's expected that a father be a father but the truth is that an overwhelming majority of fathers do not take on nurturing roles, especially in the care of infants. It was lovely to see a dad day out with a newborn just because it breaks the status quo. Love this family 💜
I meant to comment on the video yesterday. But thank you chris. That talk about not giving up yesterday was really what i needed to hear yesterday. Ive been having a hard time getting into a graduate program and i didnt get a great grade yesterday. But, you made me realize that if it’s something i really want to do, I am gonna work hard to get to where i want to be. So thank you
Internet stranger here wanting to give you a vote of confidence! I believe in you! Getting into grad programs is super hard sometimes but you can do it! Fight on!
I thought It was so cool How Chris talked about his favourite board games! Thank you so much for sharing all of these with us! Super interesting! I hope the family gets better soon!
My favorite board games are Sheepland (good for older kids; box says 8+) and Evolution: Climate (super fun, but lots of rules! Possibly frustrating for kids; box says 12+). I also love Photosynthesis!
My family’s FAVORITE board game would have to be Exit: The Game. think of an escape room, but in board game form! You have to work as a team to escape whatever situation you are in. There’s multiple volumes at different difficulty levels. Super fun!
Our family loves bananagrams. It’s just like scrabble but with no board OR waiting on other players. Everyone plays at the same time. It’s a great spelling, vocabulary building game!
I could watch Chris talk about board games for a while. I second every recommendation you made! Some games I also love are Coup, Cryptid, and Camel Up.
For someone who isn't into big, complicated board games like such (my husband is SUPER into them), I LOVE Splendor! It's super simple, and it's super fun! Also, thank you for explaining Photosynthesis! I've been trying to figure out what board game to get my husband for Christmas and the art felt similar to the games he's bought before but I wasn't sure what it was exactly about! Sounds fun!
I’ve been waiting for a list of games that you guys like!! I have a really hard time picking out games from reading the back etc. so this helps me a lot!! I would love to see a video of you and Jessica and maybe even the kids picking out their favorite games and explaining why. I LOVE THIS!
I really enjoy playing Treasure Island. It’s a coop game as well and the gist is you are stranded on an island that is slowly sinking and u have to get off it as quick as possible. It’s super fun!!
Two games I always play with my family at Thanksgiving time are Bang and Bohnanza! Bang is a western themed card game in which everyone has a different role with goals, but all except the Sheriff are anonymous. I think you’d love it! It is a bit complex though. Bohnanza is an easier card game in which you plant beans and harvest for coins. It is much easier for the littles!
Ugh!! We have this sickness going around our house right now, it's AWFUL! And thank you for that information, Jessica! It's so great that you provide helpful information that someone out there is going through.
So sweet of you to take Luke Christmas shopping so Jessica & the kids can get some rest. Those games you showed look really good! Thanks for some ideas!
I watch your family all the time and just wanted to comment on your new channel gifted guitars, I have always dreamed of playing the guitar and loves building things but never knew how cool it was to build a guitar and I’ve learned so much from watching your channel! So amazing!
I love playing board games! My top two to recommend to people are Machi Koro and Charterstone. Machi Koro is a dice and cards game where you have to build your city develop certain town landmarks first. It also comes in a legacy game as well and has two expansions for the base game. Charterstone is my number one favorite game. It is a legacy game that has many different twists and turns but essentially you are the mayor of a piece of land and throughout the game you develop your meeple and other really exciting things happen (I don't want to spoil anything) HIGHLY recommend
Whenever a sickness would go through our house, my nursling would be the only person in the family to either not show any symptoms or have a less intense illness. Breastfeeding is truly amazing!! And the mother doesn’t necessarily have to get sick, the baby can actually introduce the germs through their saliva and your body will build the antibodies to their illness without the mom ever having symptoms! Isn’t that amazing?? Just look up the research on how breastmilk changes to support a sick baby! Your milk changes specifically for what the baby needs! I’m so glad everything worked out for you guys!
Thanks for sharing all the games. We get new games for Christmas every year and then we have family game night on New Years Eve. These are some great ideas.
For Bailey and Parker: My mom’s sore throat hack is a tablespoon of honey with a couple drops of lemon juice. It’s delicious, soothes the throat immediately, and can also be stirred into a cup of tea or warm milk or water if she’s into either of those sorts of things! Vick’s vaporrub will also cure everything!
Absolutely love ticket to ride!! Great family competition game where the final points tally can completely change who wins! Also love Phase 10 card game, rush hour (cool one person strategy game), bananagrams, scattergories, and balderdash!
Thank you, Christopher! You introduced my family to Pandemic and we love it. I was wondering about Legacy, so now, I know we're getting it this Christmas!
I really like the game Dixit! It doesn't have a lot of mathematical strategy, it's more about imagination and story telling. It has a bunch of cards with really cool pictures and you come up with words or phrases that fit what you think is going on in the card. There's a bit more to it but it's kind of hard to explain but the point is it's really cool
there is a new pandemic expansion and i love it so much! it is about resources that you have to ship to other countries to help. it is a fast pace, energetic game that is super fun! jake and bailey would definitely be able to play but it might be a bit confusing for parker. love you guys! 💗💗
Yess the running gags are my favorite! The “good burp” one and my other fav was “it’s really gooood” by Jess’s Dad😂 love following your holiday season guys!
I recommend Mexican train. It’s a domino game where you match dominos together to create multiple trains. 2-5 players depending on how big the starting board is. They come in different sizes. Also it is not too expensive. I got mine from Walmart.
I hope everyone feels better. Thank you for sharing board game recommendations. A few games I can recommend are fluxx, sushi go, once upon a time (card game), stuffed fables, ticket to ride, and mysterium. My husband and I love board games and we're always looking for new ones. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Dad! Get some medical masks. Have a station set up outside the room the kids are in with masks and hand sanitizer. Keep them there and use the masks. I got sick of getting sick. Good job nursing while sick Mom.
I just played Takenoko at my local board game café and it's great! You're growing a bamboo garden for the Emperor of Japan, who has received a panda from the Emperor of China. You place tiles for plots of land, put in irrigation, move the gardener and panda around to grow or eat bamboo, and get special actions depending on the weather each turn, all trying to fulfill objectives on the cards you draw.
I love how Jessica still has her pearls on when she’s not feeling well and sleeping I hope you all feel better
I read pearls as pants and was very confused
Ruby Thomson 😂
Jacob Melit she’s teaching me everything I need to know about being mom in the future and I appreciate it!
Ruby Thomson 🤣 *!!LoL!!* 🤣 wildly different!!
*just girly things*
Christopher was so sweet to show his sisters’ books. “These make good gifts.” :D
“I like coughing in a bowl” - Parker, he’s still funny when sick
I commented the same thing!😂
lol
\
Parker is literally my favorite, he is his own little person and hes amazing!!❤❤❤❤
Parker is the best
Better that the germs go in the bowl and not in the air. :)
That must be a really nice feeling to walk into a store and see not one, but BOTH of your sisters' books on the shelf!
I just realized that Luke has the same sticking up hair as Flynn owo
Yesss but if you watched colleens recent video she said it was starting lay down but its super adorable anyways
What is owo
They are cousins

*Sarahsaurus* same. Thinking of you
I relate for sure to this. They are so centering and soothing.

What about his brain??

They talk about it more on twitch.

the world’s mucus! love hearing little Luke make those noises!
When you were describing pandemic I was like sounds familiar
Hopefully everyone is on the mend soon. Parker kind of sounds like he has croup.
Groovy Baby definitely does. Hope it’s not 😞
He sounds like my little boy and his friend its been awful
Agreed

The world’s mucus! I can’t wait to see that new channel! I voted for Ballinger Mom! Love your family! Luke makes such cute dolphin impressions.😂
Highly recommend “Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle” it’s a little pricey for games but it is so worth it! Super fun Jacob and Bailey would LOVE it!
Oh yeah we played it for Halloween and it was fun!
It’s always the best part of my day when I see you guys upload! Hope everyone is feeling much better!
Dixit is my favourite game! Great for fostering imagination and connecting with the people around you.
You should try When I Dream, it has some of the dixit vibes. It's great!
That smile when he found the guitar store was priceless, lmao!!
I thought It was so cool How Chris talked about his favourite board games! Thank you so much for sharing all of these with us! Super interesting! I hope the family gets better soon!
Super dad for having the willpower to take care of everyone! And keeping the baby safe!
Aw poor kids. I hope they heal and feel better soon, it sucks to see these little sunshines sick :( Praying for y'all.
My favorite board games are Sheepland (good for older kids; box says 8+) and Evolution: Climate (super fun, but lots of rules! Possibly frustrating for kids; box says 12+). I also love Photosynthesis!

Dixit is a really fun game for families! It’s similar to apples to apples but it’s all with pictures! Uses a lot of creativity and is just crazy fun!

The worlds mucus! Munchkin is definitely a fun game to play as a family, there’s a lot of different versions and expansions to the game to.
Vit c with rose hips is great when it is cold season. You can get the liquid form or pill form. Also, cool mist humidifiers. The hot mist holds germs.

Love your vlogmas vlogs :) you guys are such a sweet loving family and fun to watch :)
Another board game recommendation I have is Hadara. It’s more of a strategy type game slightly similar to Stone Age but with more card building
Who's watching during the pandemic??
I'm so excited for your Christmas video soonish! I only started watching your channel in March, but I love your channel!
there is a new pandemic expansion and i love it so much! it is about resources that you have to ship to other countries to help. it is a fast pace, energetic game that is super fun! jake and bailey would definitely be able to play but it might be a bit confusing for parker. love you guys! 💗💗
Love all the game details. Your family is the greatest
Luke with Christopher today in the stroller was a total Baby Yoda moment and I loved it 😂❤️
yall have the sweetest family oh my goodness 🥺
If you like an easy competitive board game, try Ticket to Ride. It’s so much fun!
Betrayal at house on the hill! It’s an amazing “horror” adventure game your family would love it!
Luke’s really starting to look like a Ballinger, (not just like a newborn), especially in this thumbnail!
I think you’d really enjoy the games Azul, dice forge and sheriff of knotingham!
Yess the running gags are my favorite! The “good burp” one and my other fav was “it’s really gooood” by Jess’s Dad😂 love following your holiday season guys!
The world's mucus- Luke has the best squeak ever and where did you get the jam Advent?
Kayla Fran I saw the jam advent calendar on amazon
I hope you all get better soon 🥺
You guys introduced me to Pandemic and now it's a favorite. Currently, my family loves Codenames as well. The world's mucus!
Exploding kittens is a great card game for family who don't think they are into games! Lots of funny moments to be had.
Parker sounds like he has croup. Please watch him closely when he sleeps. Croup is nothing to mess with.
She is such a great mum
Dad! Get some medical masks. Have a station set up outside the room the kids are in with masks and hand sanitizer. Keep them there and use the masks. I got sick of getting sick. Good job nursing while sick Mom.
Wishing you all a speedy recovery xo Thanks, Christopher, for the game recommendations.
I've got a bad throat too and whilst recovering I've just been watching your past Vlogmases
I just played Takenoko at my local board game café and it's great! You're growing a bamboo garden for the Emperor of Japan, who has received a panda from the Emperor of China. Moderate strategy, the game is beautiful, and fun gameplay! You place tiles for plots of land, put in irrigation, move the gardener and panda around to grow or eat bamboo, and get special actions depending on the weather each turn, all trying to fulfill objectives on the cards you draw.
As a nursung mom I always hope to catch any illness going around first, so I can pass on antibodies before baby has any symptoms
