I bought day 1 to support 1 of my fav franchises. But this games a wait for sale.. its a step back from modded mercs in alot of ways i realize modded is not vanilla but the devs should have taken what the mod community made and incorporated alot of it into Clans. They did not…. UI sucks AI sucks mech lab sucks. Story is cool if ur into battletech. No instant action random battles is a mega letdown zero replay value. Now that i beat it il never play it again unless mods overhaul it
I bought it hour 1 of the drop, unlike mw5: mercs, I didn't immediately regret it and get angry. I want DLC right now though. Like, yesterday, right now.
@@dmora2386 I think this sentiment falls closest to my own opinions of the title, despite trying to present the game in as neutral of a lens as possible. 😃
Couldn't agree more. Start with his vids on the Amaris Civil War then look at the Exodus and the origins of the Clans. Very entertaining and you get a super solid notion of the Battletech Universe
I say it's worth the buy. I beat it 3 times already and am already itching for dlc. It's still being patched up got bugs but they are not deal breaking(ps5). I LOVED the stories, yes, stories.
Another thing to add would be the affinity system. On one hand you can give each pilot in your star a bonus to specific mechs and weight classes but on the other hand your mechs are quickly replaced by heavier more powerful mechs until everything in your star is an assault mech.
Yeup. I get that there needs to be power fantasy progression within the arc of a game, but some of the systems here don't seem to support each other terribly well.
For Smoke Jaguar, the day they burned Turtle Bay to the ground was the most important and impactful day of their lives. For the Night Lords... it was Tuesday.
One major thing I would add to cons is the mech speed. It's really fast and mechs turn in style of Hawken. Where is the mass? It really ruins the immersion pretending you are in a 50 ton colossus.
Tex Talks Battletech (Black Pants Legion) is the best, and funniest, Battletech lore on TH-cam. Some of his more recent works are hours long but worth it. Maybe start with the Hunchback video.
My observations as a die ahrd battletech fan: -very fixed story missions, losing mechs or components has no consequence, credits are prctically plentiful. -you cant salvage stuff. Big No No -additional optional "sand castle" missions like in mercenaries would be refreshing -battlefield lacks details, still waiting on infanfrty and especially elemental battle armor duking it out beside the mechs -tanks behave like RC models on the battlefield -overall atmosphere as being member of a clan warrior caste feels artifically catered to the modern audience. -missing clan specific gameplay like "bidding before a battle" or challenging certain characters into circle of equals. There could be so much more depths in the game
I rarely spend much on games these days but a Clan-focused mechwarrior game with a storytelling never seen before in the series? I had to buy the collector's edition as soon as it came out. Didn't regret it so far, even if the added contenuts are a bit lackluster
My go too battletech lore channels are in no order Big red 40 tech Mechanical frog Sven van der plank The Black Pants Legion And I'm gonna wait for a sale 👍
You're the first one to mention there's no audio or visual cues to taking damage. It adds a couple more layers of immersion. Especially if you take a big hit from a ppc or gauss
Playing this on my PS5 Pro.. its not optimized for it so it doesn't look as good as PC obviously.. but it runs great.. pretty solid frame rate consistently.
Luetin grade presenter for BT lore was nice and deserved for Luetin 😊 And going into Warhammer was the right choice 😅 great informative non nonsene video as always, don't know this series games but I like the setting Thanks, wait for sales
I can tell you right now once you get a handle of the game, you can beat some of the end game missions with just a lance of armored up, ersmall, ECM arctic cheetahs.
@@bobcoffee11 expert. Though I've not tried the very last 2 missions yet. I've beaten the game 3 times now front to back so... I've kinda already gotten bored.
I would wait till it goes on sell, the extras aren't worth it. The cutscene are nice but can be wooded sometimes, voice acting it good. Mechs not very customizable, have to be unlock omnipods with experiance, by which time mech may not be viable. Overall I would give it a 6 out of 10. Replayability 3 out of 10, maybe.
This seems a bit like going to a charity event for cancer and then shouting "but what about diabetes?!" during the keynote. Help me understand how this is relevant to the topic at hand?
A bunch of reviewers are complaining that the game is too woke cause there is a black lady in it. It’s a shame cause this is quite a good game I thought
So what's your verdict? Throw money at the screen, or wait for a sale?

Did you say "modern audience"?
if yer a big mechwarrior fan you have already bought it and for the normal gamer probably wait for a sale

you're using the "modernized" controls?
I enjoy playing.
Must buy for battletech Fans.
And even non fans get enough information to understand the works
Big Red 40 Tech is a guy you can check out for more Battletech related lore.
great overview, the TLDR is really appreciated! :)
Thanks! I hate obvious efforts to pad for time as much as anyone else, so figure it best to get right to it 😉

I’m biased but nightlords prior to Horus heresy are nightmare fueled anti-heroes
Post heresy, scary but more boogy men but really damn cool
@mspilot8283 Post-Heresy Night Lords kinda have murder hobo vibes 😂 Always scavenging but will always make time for a good skinnin'
I've been a fan since Mechwarrior 2 and am absolutely loving this game! Buy!

i have played all ,mw3.mw4.mw5 merchs[that was thrash] but mech warrior 5 clans is worth it.mw2 is still king. the only drawback is the mechlab.

I got it on GamePass and haven't had any real performance issues. Great game so far too.
PC or Xbox? Oversight on my part, but when I say Gamepass I mean Gamepass for PC.

@piotrcthlu At this point Luetin has basically accrued 2 doctorate's worth of research into 40k lore, dude is a madman and I respect the focus.
@@baldsquidgaming Indeed. Level of dedication is unimaginable for me, emperors work
I'd say they're making progress so "Soon" though not necessarily right now. For anyone with vision problems you'll probably want to wait a bit longer.

Night Lords, apart from Cordera Perez wounded ego(REMEMBER EDO!)

I got the game on Epic it's good I like it, but to short. it's around 25hrs for the campaign. would say wait till they add a DLC or two
Bruh my ass really thought they got 50 cent for this game at the beginning of the video 🤦♂️
same
Neither. Just play it on gamepass. You can even play it on an xbox 1 with the cloud..
I’m guessing you missed the bit in even the tldr about the gamepass version stuttering worse and being multiple patches behind
Wait for mechwarrior 6 we get a mechwarrior game about every 5 years so by that time all the SJWs should be out of the industry
