Thank you for being the ONLY youtuber that went to 0% battery. Very good to see there is some grace period once it hits 0. Naturally most of battery percentages are guesswork, we cant track every electron, but still good that DJI tuned the readout to be extra conservative.

Hi Dustin awesome review. Thanks so much for sharing. DJI should send you their latest Goggles 3N. It they do, I'd love to see you review that. I have a Neo and was about to pull the plug on Goggles 3 until DJI announced the Goggles 3N. Will wait for some reviews on the 3N before I pull the trigger.
To go along with that range test for your next video, do a high altitude test as well, Dustin! A high attitude test for the avata 2 thrown in would be great too, an added bonus. You're in the US and there's not any high attitude tests around here for the dji drones, they're mostly range tests. Just an idea to add to your content that would be pleasant to see!
Thank you for this video ! I am new to drones, I just got the Neo on its own and thinking of getting the Goggles 3 , looks like a lot of fun to fly, my only concern is that I live in Montreal, Canada and don't think I could fly the drone in winter unforttunately :(
beautiful house and property, or does the neo make it look better? also great video, thanks for going through everything, including prop-guard on vs off... very in depth thank you
The NEO is an awesome piece of gear. At its price point limit your expectations. Would like DJI to add "Camera" with timed shots, say 5 Sec & 10 Sec intervals to ALL 6 of the NEO preset shooting modes. At present think only the "Spotlight mode" mode offers timed photos. Recognize that drone capture has been prioritized towards Videographers. Only offering the "Video" Camera Mode is a bit limiting. Primarily a Still photographer. With my Mavic 3 have captured some amazing stills. NEO Camera will have to wait for the NEO Pro so don’t big deal it. Simple an limited Camera/Still settings should be an easy add.
Another super cool video. With the Neo’s AI augmented autonomous follow mode and quick shots, can the object the Neo follows be something small, like another quad? I’ve been trying to figure out if the Neo can follow an Avata 2 and vise versa. Thanks for the video.
Interested in your solar panels. Wondering what you looked for in performance and quality. Also, how you matched them up to your power usage. And, your battery backup choice.
They are Aptos Bifacial panels. You just need to make sure you connect them to match your inverter systems max input ie volts, amps, watts. Voltage being the main number not to exceed (some calculations necessary). I'm connecting them to dual AC500 inverters from Bluetti in split phase for 240 volt with a bunch of B300s batteries. I'll be releasing a video of the entire install when complete 🍻
Apparently DJI are releasing the stripped down goggles this coming week. List price in Europe is 530 euros with Neo+3 batteries, compared to 350 for the standard flymore kit. Not sure what standalone price is for new goggles though. As for the drone itself, I've had a lot of fun with it + goggles3. It's not as fast or as capable as the Avata2, obviously, but being this small makes it a different sort of fun. Downsides wind handling as Dustin says, but you can't do much about that at this size. Bit disappointed it doesn't have 2.7k60 - instead you're stuck with either 4k30 (not much good for fpv), or 1080p60 (kinda low detail for any replay later). That feels an artificial limitation tbh, given there's clearly enough bandwidth for 2.7k60.
Yes, sport mode should have everything unlocked, I agree. Take not DJI. We also want more speed and better speed control with downward movement. I personally would love to see more follow mode speed for MTB.
Hi what is better a normal controller or the FPV motion controller for flying FPV mode? Can you make a video about how to set up your solar system in the backyard?
Awesome review. How long does the battery life of the googles last? And do you get the full distance to control the drone like with the "regular" remote where you connect your phone? Also can someone else see the same video on the phone when you use the googles?
Thanks. Goggles will last many around 2-4 hours depending on configuration of course (selected power output etc.). Distance will be variable depending on terrain and interference. You're second and third questions are approximately yes & yes an observer can share view wired or wireless from goggles 🍻
@@DustinDunnill thanks for the quick response. So someone else can use the app on the phone and watch what the person using the goggles sees? that would be awesome...
The best review. Thnank you. Could you please kindly check whether it can be see the camera view on the cell phone while using Motion 3 controller instead of Goggle. Because I want to use it during my hiking trip. I have to reduce the weight as possible as I can plus I rarely take videos. I just want to take photos. Without controller, there is no return to home. Flew my Neo yesterday the 2nd of Nov for the 1st time. Wanted to check out the audio recording feature. Its out of sync! Dang...and I have the integra goggles , hope they do an update that allows them to be used..
cool! can you test how to orbit? with head-tracking on, it's possible but I don't like head-tracking. and with motion controller and joystick on opposite side, it was done but now not, I don't know. So I hope you can test it.
I noticed when you took off, you did not have enough satellites, locked in to record home point, so it probably locked in on your home point when you're flying around not where you took off. Sometimes I have to sit there and wait 2 to 3 minutes for it to lock in on satellites and record home point before I can takeoff. That's frustrating.
With the Motion 3, you can still use the joystick to move up (or strafe) without changing the orientation, right (ex., aim the camera down while moving the drone up)? I assume it won't work in "easy acro" mode, but does it work in normal and sport mode? And will it allow you to go up and down faster, compared to just tilting the handle?
@@DustinDunnill - I think you can adjust the accelerations somewhere in the menu (saw it on a different video). Up and down can definitely be adjusted, not sure about sideways.
