Hey!!!!Thanks for a wonderful reaction….I don’t know if anyone else caught it but at the beginning when they were interviewing RM about his lyrics and at the end he says “I’ll prove it” their latest album is titled Proof he did it!…that RM is a GENIUS and it really angers me to hear people in America talk about how bad it is and unfair when they haven’t had an ounce of the hardship BTS has💜.I had a bad day at work this was what I needed to de-stress…Thankyou so much🙏🙏

The underground rappers were really critical of RM and Suga for going idol. They have both learned yo lean into the frustrations fuel yo their art which is why the early solo work of both are so angry and a direct retort showing they still can talk deeply. Such a well put together series.
It’s interesting that a twitter discussion I saw this week said no single rapper could ever sell out a stadium tour. Suga refused a stadium tour although he had the option but easily sold out his arena tour because he’s one of the top selling rappers on the planet. And his messages is so incredibly deep.

I have so much respect for Kim Namjoon. He's such a deep thinker. And a poet. Like you, I gain so much comfort from his words. I'd love to spend an afternoon just chatting with him, hearing his opinion on whatever he chose to discuss.

One thing I wanted to say is that the issues that they have with their old friends being tough on them for choosing to be idols is generally similar to what we Army get from our friends that tease us for liking BTS. I am an 80s metal head and I've had issues of friends questioning my loyalty to my rock idols. They think I've 'sold out' and I'm disrespecting the music I grew up with. One of them even said that my idol, Eddie Van Halen, would roll over in his grave if he heard I listened to BTS. I counted that with the fact the he would never do that because he was a 'complete' musician. He loved all music and would never pick on anyone for their choices. And it also shows how close-minded those friends are or scared of having the same thing happen to them, i.e. being made fun of for their choices. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Kim Namjoon. Our president. He deserves all the love and respect. I remember Joon would see/hear hate comments about BTS in English and the boys would ask him to translate it. He would protect the boys by making the comment positive. And I love how the boys love and respect him a lot. The way they collectively take care of him lmao his clumsiness is so endearing! Good episode🤗
JHope crying when seeing his dad on Zoom. None of them had been home. No days off. You heard them exclaim. Let us go home. No weekends off. JK saw his mom and dad when he had that school entrance ceremony. They have only been home twice in 10 years for Christmas. Jimin said he didnt even know how to act or react around his family during those 2 Christmas holidays. When you see JK saying he missed his mom and dad...I can assure you he cried himself to sleep many a night because he was so homesick. He was just a "baby" when he left home. The other members really did raise him. Anyway, when we all saw JHope break down...all of Army sobbed with him. Also, his dad had never approved of his music and dance career. So when he heard those positive words from his dad..it was the first time ever hearing that!
That really melts a persons heart dosnt it? damn Jhope I just wanted to hug him in that moment! The emotions running through him there really gets to you but damn you know... It was all worth it! Good for him for doing what he did and good for the boys being there to support eachother!💜💜💜
namjoon is just the embodiment of love and comfort. like he is so inspirational and wise that sometimes (always lol) i can’t help myself but just admire him for the person he is. he always knows what to say and how to say it and he doesn’t even put effort in it, that’s just the way he is. yeah, my namjoon is just like a warm hug after a long and tiring day

Oh, such a great video! I love this series and appreciate you giving it a watch! I wanna add that in my opinion Lee Soo-man is a bad guy. He is the founder of the 'slave contracts' that was widely known in the idol industry in the early days, highlighted by TVXQ's claims of unfair contracts and low to no pay. The Korean Fair Trade Commission put more restrictions on these things that following year (2010). Lee was also prosecuted for embezzlement, fleeing the country for a short time (interpol was involved), not reporting real estate purchases in L.A., and other things.
But his biggest sin in my book is his impact of the treatment of idols. The micromanaging and brutal conditions for these precious people is heartbreaking. And people who say 'well they knew what they signed up for' can go eat a pile of 💩. When they sign these kids onto these contracts they are teenagers and don't realize the gravity of what they may go through.
The abhorrent view on mental health is also really frustrating. The suic*de of idols is heartbreaking and has been ignored for far too long because of this taboo in S. Korea that puts blame on the victim a lot.
This is why I respect BTS so so much. They are sending messages of self-love, acceptance, being different, being honest about how you are doing, mental health, non-violence, and empowerment. The whole industry needs this so bad.

While BTS did have rules they neded to follow (mostly for safety reasons)they did not have slave contracts like some of the idols... BTS themselves are very cognizant of the things they must and must not do within the idol sphere.. Their contracts reflect that continued freedom (they dont have clauses such as plastic surgery and no dating)...
With regards to drugs - Korea is extremely antidrug - you will be jailed even just for smoking pot, even if you do it in a country where it is legal, the same goes for gambling - it is illegal for Korean citizens to partake in drugs and gambling even while travelling overseas... when you return to Korea you will be charged if they find out.
For example - a very famous actor placed a bet in Macao when on vacation.... it became public knowledge and when he returned to Korea he was taken in by the police, charged, fined and he lost his career and every one of his advertising contracts... he was industry blacklisted immediately.... over a $50 bet.
Your comment on photo editiing - yes that is a bone of contention with a lot of international ARMY- we dislike the way official photos are "whitewashed".
(I have found though that it seems that lately there is a little less whitewashing going on - Tae's recent photos have shown his natural golden tan - much better IMO) You have to understand the cultural significance tho... In the past - Pale skin was seen to be desirable as it meant that you were of a higher class - you didn't have to go out and slave in the sun and get tanned... this turned into a modern trend (if you are an idol your presentation must be that of someone above the normal masses - hence light skin and perfect features that mere mortals aspire to) the Korean Beauty standards for both men and women are set almost impossibly high (hence why plastic surgery is so common and accepted over there)
This beauty standard is also the reason for the comments to RM at the beginning - his face not being that of an Idol - comments like that was why RM wore glasses so much at first to cover his face (and JHope wore his mask)... remember they were teenagers when these comments were made - it took a long time for them to be able to fully shake off that hate and be confident in who they are - the industry and the korean public are very harsh on those they don't think fit the "look" of an idol.... Cypher Part4 said it best "Oh Face Not An Idol... Sorry Bae'....."i LOVE MYSELF"
I was in South korea in April, visiting my daughter who works there. We stayed in Gangnam and there are so many plastic surgery clinics there, we saw so many women and men walking around with post surgery dressings on. Its huge over there, my daughter said kids often get plastic surgery if they want for there birthday when they've turned 18. Lots of korean men wear light makeup, beauty and taking care of yourself is important to men and women in korea
W.....what.? That's crazy! I could never imagine such pressure... I think to myself now I'm pretty lucky with not having these kind of social pressures in my life. I wish this mindset could change

Take for instance, my tattoos. Those are, in a way, cosmetic surgery. I'm changing the way I look to make myself happier. So I can have sympathy for streams situation, but here it's different. I'm sure in S.Korea the standard is so high that it becomes a disorder
It's usually double eyelid surgery and defining the jawline. They don't tend to change their bodies

An idea from idea girl. If your wife recreated the cute BTS characters using her own materials and crochet or knit or whatever material she uses....
..she would sell out. Also, purple hearts of all sizes. BTS letters. Anything BTS would sell out. Just an idea. Also, get a P.O. Box and list it. Your BTS friends will send you fun things and maybe gifts and merch. We like to share. And. You might want to put some BTS on your back shelves as decoration. Again. Just ideas for you to explore. Aneesa was the original creator of this series. These are reuploads because she shut down her channel. It's still there, but the videos are on private. I'm assuming an ARMY reuploaded them so people could still watch them. That means that there are probably 10 X as many views on the original videos This series is highly valued in the ARMY fandom. It's BTS content put together to tell their story, in a very artistic, and amazing way. So yeah, 11,000 views is nothing.
I learned about this later... its so sad that she shut down.. but Im sure she had her reasons!

Love the reaction! I’ve seen the series up to episode 12 or so, but it’s been a long time so rewatching it with you is really fun and a good reminder of their early days. This episode is so good! It’s where I really truly fell a bit in love with Yoongi, as he made all those cute lil notes and gifts for ARMY. Too sweet.
Are you going to watch the extra content and deleted scenes? There’s at least one for every episode after 2, I think, and you get to see a lot more/full length clips, plus stuff they didn’t include in the episodes but are still relevant. You’re missing part of the story if you don’t watch that stuff and I’d love to watch along with you!
