I played this game a decent amount and still find it funny to see them struggle last astroneer video I saw the guy did not pick up the tethers at all he just made it spit them out and left the pack where it was
As an armchair Astroneer, I have to admit to yelling at the screen a few times as I watch you play, but then I remind myself that I've watched others get through the basics, and I've never seen someone play cold and for the first time. Keeping that in mind, this all becomes a whole lot more fun. And, there's roughly 50 hours of gameplay waiting to be viewed. Thank you.
I'm watching this wanting to yell at the monitor too! There are soo many hotkeys that aren't readily evident. I keep telling myself he will find them..... otherwise there wouldn't be more in the playlist for me to enjoy.
@@exofunbun7785 I'll admit when he was toting the oxygenator around I was shouting "Go all the way around the shelter! Walk around it!" The rest I'm having fun watching him discover everything.
I applaud your patience and fortitude!! I called my son whining for help almost right away. Now we team up and he is still patiently teaching me more tricks. There is much more and I hope to find more episodes on your channel.
Just wanted to say that this is the exact kind of series I was looking for. Thank you for making this! Subscribed and looking forward to more of what you are doing.
Thank you very much! Longplays with the creator fumbling through figuring out the game without any use of guides or wikis isn't for everyone - it can be frustrating when you know the answer and the speaker can't put two and two together - but I'm glad when people who enjoy it can find my content :)
@Gaming with Raph I bought a usb condenser microphone. It’s on a boom arm and sits about six inches from my face when I record. If you listen to stuff from early January it’s much fuzzier!
OMG, that moment when you realized that, one, the resources are below ground as well as on the surface, and two, you can print tethers on the backpack printer. I wanted to cheer.
25 minutes in. It's fascinating watching you trying to figure out what now seems obvious to me (on my 7th playthrough). I'm sure I was equally confused when I first started playing. e.g. You got a bundle of ten tethers, placed one, and put the remaining 9 on your backpack. I'm looking at them and wondering when you will also notice they're still there. Not having a go, I think it shows that maybe the short descriptions they give are not as clear as they could be.
Glad you’re enjoying it! There are a number of “Ah-hah!” moments throughout the series, which is half the fun for me - exploration and discovery are both pleasant dopamine boosters in my brain. I promise you I get better about the tether stuff eventually!
I adore this game, and although I wanted to yell through the screen a few times, it took me a while to get the hang of it too. It was so satisfying when things clicked for you
Fyi, we dont see the windows bar...I think you have OBS set to stream a specific program (Astroneer in this case) I find that really helpful when I need to bring up OBS or some other window, it doesn't interfere with the stream. Very nice.
Haha yup - I tried watching it myself last month and was like “this guy is so slow to figure everything out!” But that’s the long play format for you. Hope you stick around for the whole series - I did some interesting stuff if once a I got better at the game!
Im noob to Atroneer (XBOX S S/X) The controls suffer cause it obviously designed for mouse and keyboard. The learning curve on this one is huge. It took me like 2 hours to figure out how to fill a small canister with soil. Like 2 weeks before I figured out how to use a packager lol. The camera is wonky too. Astroneer needs to go transparent the closer camera gets. The menus are extremely ambiguous with little symbols and the research logs should show which printer you need. Once you learn how to get stuff going (resources, printing, placing tethers, digging and making flatish terrain) this game is amazing! Oh yeah follow the mission log.
I'm glad you're enjoying learning the game - it was the same way for me. If you read the comments a lot of people are frustrated cause I miss stuff or do it the wrong way, but the game is so charming and fun to learn. You'll master it in the end!
Once it full you put it in a soil center fug to make other things and hit t to get a new tester and once the thing on the end of you gun go to you back pack when full
I'm playing it for the first time in 2024 lol, and I'm having just as much difficulty as you seemed to have. Not clear instructions, or intuitive at all. It probably took me longer than you to get tethers sorted. Frustrating, but I'm hoping it becomes fun before I give it up as a bad buy.
It becomes so much fun after the first half hour, every single one of my 9 playthroughs I have gotten supa bored and I would rarely play at the beginning, but after just around the first half hour of total gameplay I would spend literally days straight playing that playthrough
I would have binged this if it wasnt for the redicilous length of the video. If you ever want to get more subscribers you need to cut out the boring parts (you trying to figure out how to use tethers for 15 mins), hope this helps with more enjoyable videos i wont be watching.
After 700+ hours in this game it's so cute for me to see how Author finding out the basics carefully reading through all the hints and labels =3
It’s a game of exploration in more ways than one!

There are quite a few more episodes! I completed a full playthrough of the game, but even after that there are still many more things to learn.
Just started watching your gameplay today. And im glad you stuck with it as your up to ep33 at the moment and it just a fantastic game.
Welcome aboard! I will be playing through all the content in the game, so there will be more episodes coming!

Just started playing and I'm learning with you. Keep it going!

LOL. Episode two posted before episode one. Too funny.
Oh really? I scheduled them both for the same time though!
@@Josiwe No big issue. Episode 1 is in front of episode 2. is all. 🤣
I've been interested in this as well....have been leery about getting it based on the reviews though.

episode 200 time to get aluminum
I found it a little bit earlier than that 😂

How do you read clear instructions and immediately forget all of it?
Its ok that hapenning when you are on first playtrough
Was getting to grips with this game's basic systems as infuriating as it seemed?
Hmm, I wouldn't say it was infuriating. It was a slow process but I enjoyed slowly improving my game knowledge and unlocking tools and recipes.
