@@irmabronder but she's not Indian? and the original English diet WAS healthy but it's been messed with too much and people don't have good gut bacteria like they used to, now leading to food intolerances
It's worth considering a ''real food'' diet, ie no processed foods. You'll never need to read a label again. (I live in Bulgaria, and most processed foods are labelled in Cyrillic, making them really difficult for me to read).
At 73 (USA) was diagnosed as possible celiac (anti-body showed up) Though I am awaiting an endoscopy for verification, stopped all gluten, dairy as well as low carbs (also diagnosed as pre-diabetic plus I have high cholesterol). All came at one time. Had bouts of severe digestion issues previously, but since I have begun eating no processed foods, very little dairy, plant milks and no gluten, low carbs, no meat just fish, dropped 20 lbs, and now have a lot more energy. I feel so much better! Sleep better and no brain fog. Due to my better eating I lowered my cholesterol, no longer diabetic levels as well, digestion is fine. Unbelievable that I felt so bad and accepted it. It took several years for all this to show up. Presently, I am trying to coordinate foods/ meals: gluten free, continue to lower cholesterol even more, prevent pre-diabetic sugar levels. It has been quite a challenge but doable. Lots of organic, fresh salads, and tracking my foods has helped me tremendously. Enjoyed listening to your "gluten free" journey.
Wow what a transformation, that's amazing. It crazy how we just accept that we feel this way and don't think we can do anything about it to change it. I am currently eating gluten (although not a lot, maybe 1 pasta a week), I eat a lot of eggs, veggies, fruit, nuts & seeds. And I feel so much better in my body. I don't eat much meat or fish either and if I do it's a can of tuna or chicken. I sometimes try to have dairy and have a sore tummy for a week. I think my body is now more sensitive since I've cut it out, I now react more. I think I need to do an update video, but thank you so much for sharing your story!
I had extremely low cholesterol and blood sugar due to the malabsorption of celiac disease. Total cholesterol was 96. Even nearly 40 years later, my cholesterol is around 170. Which blood test was positive? Some don't mean much. Especially IGG testing
I too am a chocoholic on the gf and df journey for 6 months now and its been difficult! Ive found an ice cream cone gf and df that is delcious and comes in multiple flavors called jolly llama!!! Highly recommended the mint!!! I've found cooking for myself is the only sure way to control gf and df. Eating out always gives me anxiety, but im learning what places are safe because I have to travel a lot for work.
Yeah cooking for yourself is the best way to be safe. It also depends on how sensitive you are. I've found in the past year or so that I can eat gluten (not all day everyday but every now and then) and not have a reaction. I'm still staying away from dairy as when I have a fresh ice cream or yoghurt or milk that hasn't been processed.. I get very ill. But I'm a lot better these days!
I been on this diet for over 10 years because I have ibs irritable bowl syndrome but it’s not hard to have this diet it’s only hard going out to eat with friends and family I don’t eat wheat or milk, butter, ice cream not even lactose milk I don’t do yogurt or sour cream if I crave it I eat vegan ice cream or vegan alternatives to dairy 🥛 as of meat I only eat chicken because it’s hard for me to digest other meats steak 🥩 once a month but because I have a sensitive stomach it’s very hard for me to digest certain food especially wheat 🌾 anything in the bread 🍞 department like crackers for example or cookies 🍪 cake 🎂 like that. But it’s not a hard diet just hard to eating around people that prevent me from finding food I can eat.
Yeah this makes total sense. I think when it first happened I was like “what the heck to I eat now?!” But actually I found that in the UK in particular, you can find good alternatives!
Another issue is that some companies make a bunch of different products and use the same equipment to make them. Like, they might use the same equipment to make chocolate and wheat. Some companies let you know about this on their product labels, but others don't.
My teen daughter seems to have become gluten and dairy intolerant, so I’ve been searching for things that are better for us. For most things we already eat well and trying to grow many of our own veggies. She has braces, so that limits nuts and other foods and absolutely can not have chocolate- it burns her lips and aggravates her throat. Thank you, I’m glad I stumbled across your page :-)
I didn't know where to start either after being diagnosed as gluten intolerant and allergic to cow's milk (and peanuts). I'm still struggling a year later on how to make these lifestyle changes. In case anyone is interested, Barley Malt is a sweetener.
just did a york test, my cows milk was 100 . 8 days dairy free, OMG , never eating cows milk again. think its been slowing me down for years. had a really bad stomach with super constipation. cows milk is mental
So glad you did the York Test. I think it’s so interesting and I think everyone (who can afford it) should do it! I have been slowly eating more gluten & dairy again.. had donuts today and currently in bed with a sore tummy.. time to give myself a break again! It’s good to know what causes a sore tummy then you can do what you want with that information, but at least you know! Anyway, glad you’re feeling better!
Have you re-tested your intolerances since being dairy/gluten free for at least 3 months? Sometimes allergens will cross-react and you find out that some of your intolerances were due to an overall inflammation.
This is actually not a great way to test for intolerances. You need to be eating gluten or dairy when you test or else the test will not be an accurate representation of your allergy/ intolerances
@sonalthacker2034 I disagree. If you think you have a food intolerance then eliminate foods to see if anything changes. If symptoms go away "then" you can reintroduce to see if symptoms return. If that is the case you can keep consuming and go for a diagnosis or do the logical thing and eliminate forever and get on with your life, which is what I would suggest.
Thank you so much for commenting! It helped me to do gluten & dairy free for 9 months and sort my tummy out. I can now eat what I want and not get ill.. especially not like before anyway!
Hi I've just had my results from the food intolerance York test and I know I have to change my diet to make me feel well but I don't know where to start , but this video has gave me some insight, so thankyou! I had ibs symptoms for years , very bloated extended tummy, uncomfortable and extremely painful with gas and wind with both constipation and diarrhea, its just awful 😖 and I struggle to lose weight. My food intolerance test showed I am intolerant to egg whites , wheat , cows milk , gluten and string beans ! I just feel that they are all in everything I eat and I could cry , I just scared to eat now 😩 xx

Thankyou , I have replaced my milk with almond and coconut milk which I like so that's fine. I'm going to get some gluten free bread as that'll be handy for work lunches ect . I've purchased an egg whites separater so I can still enjoy eggs without the whites . I've looked at the gluten free range when I'm food shopping but found that some products still contain milk and eggs so reading labels is crucial for me x
What I did when I got my results back, is to spend 9 months gluten and dairy free just to fix my gut. I then started eating gluten as I was travelling and turns out that I’m ok with gluten. I tried dairy and that’s where I have the issue. So now I only cut out fresh cheese, fresh milk, fresh yoghurt and fresh ice cream. But I can have lactose free. So try to cut things out, then add them 1 by 1 to see how your body reacts.
I agree when eating out the gluten free dairy free options aren’t that tasty. But I have to say Tesco’s free from range is just excellent, I can still eat my normal kind of meals so doesn’t feel like such an adjustment. It’s just hitting the bank balance hard 😩

Barley Malt Extract is for flavouring, that's probably why it's in desserts, you CAN eat it on a GF diet because malt is a sugar (maltose) it's not got gluten in which is a protein not a sugar.
This is really helpful, thank you. I've just done a York test so just getting my head around the changes I need to do. It's come back egg & milk sensitivity with gluten borderline. It's a minefield!

You could try it for 3 months and see how you get on. I’m not a dietician or a doctor so I can’t really advise but I found it helpful to figure out which foods give me a sore tummy.
I did the food intolerance test, a blood test, and a celiac test because my naturopath was so certain gluten was the source of my issues. None of them indicated issues with gluten. We even did a yeast reaction test in case that was the source - no issues. I spent three months on a gluten free diet which improved some of my symptoms immediately. Returning to clean gluten sources then restarted the bad symptoms. We did a stool evaluation and that's where it showed up. Long story short, our elimination tests took a long time but they were so useful in narrowing down what I was reacting to, and we did get medical confirmation, which was important to me. Importantly, my gluten issues are in conjunction with an enzyme deficiency and an inability to absorb UV, so although it takes a while, the medical journey can be worth it.
Just got news that I'm allergic to wheat, soy, dairy, eggs, tomatoes, bananas, apples, beef, chicken. I already knew I was allergic to peanuts, mangos and limes. So I'm like 'what can I eat??????"
Oh no! Try to speak to a dietician, they should be able to give you meals that you enjoy and that you can actually eat! I would also recommend trying to stay away from these for like 6 months then go back and do another test.. mine said gluten & dairy etc but actually I’m a lot better these days and I think my tummy was just really not well.. but now it is healed, it’s much better.. just an idea! I hope you find some foods you can eat and that you enjoy!
@@RosieAndre yes, but they contain milk traces I think, did you say you are dairy-free too? The best thing is to make your own from fermented fruit and vegetables apparently, I am still trying to learn how to do this myself...
I stop eating gluten 2 months ago, once I stop eating gluten all my pain went away, I see my doctors in two to confirm I can’t eat gluten ever and I am lactose intolerance as well. I read everything I pick up and the wheat is in everything. I will eat that plan bread rather than experience that pain in my gut ever, I just put jam on the bland no taste bread, if I want to have toast.
Yeah that’s the best way to do it. I have realised I am lactose intolerant more than gluten so now I don’t eat anything with cow milk like cheese, yoghurt, ice cream etc. just got to find what works for you!
Yes! I’ve stayed away from most of this processed foods now. It was a learning curve trying to figure out what I can and can’t eat. But I’ve managed to find what works for me! ❤️

I have auto immune disease I get allergies to things xxx
Poor you! It’s so annoying isn’t it!
Omg.. I'm 12 minutes in!
Haha is that a good thing?
Cherry Garcia has wheat
What is Cherry Garcia?
Hu chocolate is the best it's gluten free and vegan
Yummy! I’ll find some and try it! Thank you!
Have you tried probiotics?
I would love to get pro & pre biotics, not got round to it yet.. do you have a brand that you recommend?
@@RosieAndre yes, but they contain milk traces I think, did you say you are dairy-free too? The best thing is to make your own from fermented fruit and vegetables apparently, I am still trying to learn how to do this myself...
Oh I’ll have a look online! Thank you ❤️
Isn’t it hard?
I did this diet for 9 months and it was challenging but so worth it!
Oxo has gluten in it xx
Oh I didn't know that!
Eggs are not dairy xx
Oh, I know.. did I say eggs were dairy 😂
@@RosieAndre no I just found out they are not dairy xxxx
Oh yeah.. no they're not. They will be ok if you have a dairy intolerance..
I’m the same as you xxxx
It’s not fun is it! Oh well!
I have goats dairy xx
Yes me too! I can’t have cow dairy
@@RosieAndre I’m on jersey milk now I can have it as it’s different milk to ours xx
You may still be feeling ill because I think from your list you posted, you shouldn't have soy either! Soy licithin, soybean oil, soy is everywhere!
Yes it really is! Thanks for the heads up!
Sausages have gluten in them xxx
Yeah.. that’s a shame!
@@RosieAndre I get gluten free sausages xxxx
Oh yummy!
I do as well xxx
Heck sausages are gluten and dairy free 🙂
Yes I ate those when I was in England actually, they’re good!
The carnivore diet works.
I would miss fruit & veg so much! I couldn’t do that personally but I’m glad it works for you!
With love, your replacement foods are mostly processed crap.
Yes! I’ve stayed away from most of this processed foods now. It was a learning curve trying to figure out what I can and can’t eat. But I’ve managed to find what works for me! ❤️
Do you mean diary free
Like free…free!!!
Without a single drop??? 🥲🥲
Can i just lower the level of taken diary through the day?
Dose that count?
You have to find what works for you and your body! I did 9 months without gluten or dairy and felt so much better for it!
